Overview
The main story of Pokemon Pokopia follows Ditto (in human form) as it works to restore four devastated regions of a post-apocalyptic Kanto back to thriving Pokemon habitats. Each region has a central storyline with Important Requests, a Pokemon Center to rebuild, and a legendary Pokemon encounter at the climax. Completing all four regions leads to the Team Initiation Challenge and the game's credits.
To progress through each region, you must:
Complete the region's main Important Requests (marked with yellow speech bubbles on Pokemon)
Rebuild the region's Pokemon Center
Raise the region's Environment Level to Level 5
Area Unlock Order
The four story regions unlock in a specific order:

Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges unlock simultaneously after completing the Withered Wasteland. You can tackle them in any order. Palette Town is also accessible from the start as a free sandbox area with no story requirements.
Withered Wasteland
The Withered Wasteland is where your journey begins. The land is barren, the grass has dried up, and the water has run dry. Your goal is to learn the basics of building, crafting, and befriending Pokemon while restoring rain to the region.
Phase 1: Befriend the Kanto Starters
Customize your character and obtain the Pokedex from a wheelbarrow.
Follow Professor Tangrowth to the cliffs.
Learn Water Gun from Squirtle. Use it to revive 10 patches of dry grass.
Water a dead tree to get a Leppa Berry. Give the berry to Bulbasaur to unlock Leafage.
Obtain the Campfire recipe from a workbench. Place the campfire and have Charmander light it.
Phase 2: Build Your First Home
Create a Boulder-Shaded Tall Grass habitat to befriend Timburr (Build specialty).
Craft a Straw Bed from leaves and place it in Bulbasaur's habitat.
Purchase a Leaf Den Kit from the PC Shop (3 Sturdy Sticks + 3 Leaves).
Have Build-specialty Pokemon assist construction, then furnish the den with 3 items.
Place a Ditto Flag on your house to mark it as your personal home.
Phase 3: Unlock Rock Smash
Build an Exercise Resting Spot habitat (place a punching bag) to befriend Hitmonchan.
Give Hitmonchan 2 Stones to learn Rock Smash.
Use Rock Smash to destroy rocks west of the Pokemon Center.
Follow the shoreline to find Drifloon (unlocks Dream Islands later).
Continue north to find Onix behind destructible rocks (Bulldoze specialty).
Create a Seaside Tall Grass habitat on the beach to befriend Slowpoke. Guide Slowpoke to the Pokemon Center.
Phase 4: Rebuild the Pokemon Center
Reach Environment Level 3, then purchase the Rebuilding Kit for 1,000 Life Coins. The rebuild requires:
Materials | Pokemon Required |
|---|---|
8 helpers including Onix (Bulldoze), Timburr (Build), and Scyther (Chop) |
Construction completes the next day (can be skipped by changing the system clock).
Phase 5: "Yawn Up a Storm!"
The main Important Request requires raising humidity to 100 points so Slowpoke produces a massive yawn.
Methods to raise humidity:
Use Water Gun to moisten soil and grass tiles throughout the area
Clear clogged water sources with Rock Smash (behind the Pokemon Center, near Drilbur's fields)
Purchase and place Horsea Fountains in excavated water areas
Plant wildflower fields and use Bulbasaur's Grow specialty to bloom them instantly
Water 10 withered trees with Water Gun
Create Hydrated Tall Grass habitats (4 grass patches next to water)
Build a Rain Dance Site: 2 Castform Weather Charms, wooden plate, and Leppa Berry offering placed against a wall. Have Squirtle perform the rain dance.
When humidity reaches 100, talk to Slowpoke for the full yawn. A roar emerges from the ocean; travel to the fishing docks.
Kyogre Encounter
Craft Bridge Planks at the workbench (1 Lumber makes 5 planks; you need at least 4 planks). Place them to cross the broken dock. Talk to Kyogre; impressed by your efforts, Kyogre agrees to help and provides sustained rainfall for the region. Your Trainer Rank rises to Great.
Bleak Beach
Bleak Beach is a dark, power-depleted coastal town based on Vermilion City. The entire area starts shrouded in darkness, and your main task is to restore electricity to bring light back to the settlement.
Phase 1: Enter and Establish
Cross through the green gate east of Withered Wasteland.
Meet Professor Tangrowth at a destroyed bridge. Craft Bridge Planks and reconnect it.
Place Beach Sand blocks north of the destroyed Pokemon Center to block water flowing around it.
Boot up the PC to trigger the Pokemon Center rebuild request.
Phase 2: Complete Meowth's Requests
Find Meowth near his submerged shack. Place blocks behind his house to stop water flowing in.
Create Resting Spot and Tropical Vibes habitats.
Build a Knitting Station habitat (fill blocks between red brick blocks in the flooded area).
Craft 2 Mushroom Lamps from Glowing Mushrooms and place them in Meowth's house.
Befriend Piplup and Torchic. Torchic converts Squishy Clay into Bricks using its Burn specialty.
Create a Planter (1 Brick + 1 Stone), place flowers inside, and build a house with 3 furniture pieces.
Phase 3: Unlock Surf
Build a Trash Collection Site habitat (Waste Bin, Garbage Bag, Sign) to befriend Trubbish. Trubbish converts Nonburnable Garbage into Iron Ore.
Build a Breezy Flower Bed (4 Seashore Flowers) to befriend Pawmi. Use Pawmi to light the gate lamp.
Build a Tropical Seaside habitat (1 Large Palm Tree, 2 Ocean Water blocks, 4 Hedges) to befriend Lapras.
Transform into Lapras and follow Piplup while swimming to unlock the Surf move.
Phase 4: Rebuild the Pokemon Center
Reach Environment Level 3 and purchase the Rebuilding Kit for 1,000 Life Coins.
Materials | Pokemon Required |
|---|---|
10 Twine, 20 Bricks, 10 Sea Glass Fragments, 5 Iron Ore | 8 helpers with Bulldoze and Water specialties |
Phase 5: "Brighten Things Up"
The main Important Request requires accumulating 100 Bloom Points by restoring electricity.
Discover Mosslax (a moss-covered Snorlax) in a cave southeast of the Pokemon Center. Use Rock Smash to access the cave.
Light streetlights by having Pawmi or Pawmo (Generate specialty) follow you to Harbor Streetlights.
Craft Shell Lamps (1 Shell + 1 Sea Glass Fragment) and place them in Mosslax's cave.
Build a Windmill and connect it to Utility Poles. Place Harbor Streetlights near powered Utility Poles.
Build a Furnace. Put Lumber inside and have Torchic burn it. Connect to the electricity grid via Utility Poles.
Destroy blocking rocks so water flows and activates the Water Wheel. Connect it via Utility Poles.
Connect Utility Poles to the lighthouse and the central charging station.
Place Utility Poles on every block with a small dot to connect all lights and buildings throughout the area.
Tip: Peakychu (Illuminate specialty) absorbs electricity and can light up areas. When Peakychu says "This time for sure," connect all power sources to the charging station.
Raikou Encounter
After reaching 100 Bloom Points, climb to the top of the area and talk to Raikou. Raikou is impressed that you lit up the entire town and gets registered in your Pokedex. Then talk to Mosslax to complete the Important Request.
Rocky Ridges
Rocky Ridges is a mountainous, ash-covered area with lava flows, hot springs, caves, and minecarts, based on Pewter City. The story focuses on rescue, cooking, and throwing a party for the local Pokemon.
Phase 1: Enter and Establish
Access Rocky Ridges via the northwest gate from Withered Wasteland.
Create Red Tall Grass (2x2 patch) to befriend Scorbunny.
Build a Grassy Training Field habitat (2x2 grass + sandbags) to befriend Machoke.
Give Machoke 5 Stones to learn Strength. Use Strength to carry a giant rock, then push the PC to its electric socket.
Phase 2: Rescue Chef Dente
Follow Professor Tangrowth after a cutscene. Use Cut on a chain hanging from a barrel.
Create a Pointy Tree-Shaded Rocky Tall Grass habitat (boulder + pointy tree + 4 Red Tall Grass) to befriend Dartrix.
Craft a Cutting Board (2 Lumber) and make a Simple Salad (2 Leaves). Eating it strengthens the Leafage move.
Create a Mossy Hot Spring habitat (4 Moss Plants near water) to befriend Torkoal. Move Torkoal to the Pokemon Center to receive the Bread Oven recipe.
Craft a Bread Oven (2 Stone, 2 Small Logs, 4 Volcanic Ash). Obtain Volcanic Ash via Rock Smash on black soil east of the Pokemon Center.
Have Torkoal or Scorbunny light the oven. Grow Wheat in southwest fields and make Simple Bread (3 Wheat). Eating it strengthens the Cut move.
Use the strengthened Cut to free the hanging barrel and rescue Chef Dente (a Greedent with the Party specialty).
Phase 3: Unlock Rollout
Eat a Simple Hamburger Steak to strengthen Rock Smash. Break walls and explore caves.
Craft a Frying Pan. Grow Beans and make Simple Hamburger Steak (strengthens Rock Smash further).
Create a Mossy Boulder habitat to befriend Graveler, unlocking the Rollout move.
Phase 4: Rebuild the Pokemon Center
Reach Environment Level 3 and purchase the Rebuilding Kit for 1,000 Life Coins.
Materials | Pokemon Required |
|---|---|
25 Stone, 25 Copper Ingots, 25 Iron Ingots, 5 Crystal Fragments | 8 helpers with Bulldoze and Crush specialties |
Phase 5: "Time to Party!"
The main Important Request requires raising the area's mood to 100 points and cooking curry.
Methods to raise mood:
Method | Details |
|---|---|
CDs | Find Music CDs (check bookshelves near the Party Cooking Pot) and give them to DJ Rotom. |
Appraised Relics | Destroy volcanic ash to find large relics. Have Professor Tangrowth appraise them, then place them around the area. |
Build an Uplifting Duckweed habitat (4 Duckweed near water) to befriend Ludicolo. Bring Ludicolo to DJ Rotom. | |
Collect 5 Iron Ores from the cave, smelt into Iron Ingots, craft 5 Party Platters, fill with 5 food dishes, and place them around the cooking pot. |
Cooking curry:
Once mood reaches 100, talk to DJ Rotom, then talk to Chef Dente.
Gather ingredients: 15 Leppa Berries, 15 Wheat, 15 Beans, and 15 Honey.
Bring Chef Dente and 4 other Pokemon to the Party Cooking Pot.
Wait 6 real-world minutes for curry to cook (skippable via system clock).
Talk to Professor Tangrowth after cooking.
Tip: Start stockpiling Leppa Berries, Wheat, Beans, and Honey as soon as you arrive. The curry recipe requires 15 of each, which takes time to gather.
Volcanion Encounter
Climb the mountain and use Water Gun on lava to create solid blocks you can walk across. Reach Volcanion at the summit. Volcanion initially complains about the noise but warms up, capping the celebration with a firework display. Your Trainer Rank rises to Ultra (once both Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges are complete).
Sparkling Skylands
Sparkling Skylands is the final story region, a collection of floating islands that were once Celadon City and Saffron City. This area requires Ultra Trainer Rank (all three preceding areas complete) and features the most demanding building requirements in the game.
Phase 1: Enter and Establish
Access through gates at the far right of Bleak Beach, far right of Rocky Ridges, or back of Withered Wasteland.
Board a platform machine to reach the first island. Befriend Rookidee.
Wait for Professor Tangrowth to appear beside the Pokemon Center. Examine the PC.
Raise Environment Level to 3 through habitats.
Phase 2: Learn Glide
Create Tree-Shaded Pink Tall Grass and Hydrated Pink Tall Grass habitats to befriend Sprigatito and Froakie.
Build a Waterside Dinghy habitat (1 Canoe + 2 Duckweeds at a high-water location). Consume Plain Salad to power up Leafage for spawning Duckweeds.
Talk to Dragonite to learn Glide. Practice gliding to reach the next island.
At the tower top, meet Tinkmaster (a Tinkaton with the unique Engineer specialty). Tinkmaster requests 6 Concrete Bricks.
Build a Construction-Site Generator habitat to befriend Conkeldurr.
Phase 3: Rebuild the Pokemon Center
Reach Environment Level 3 and purchase the Rebuilding Kit for 1,000 Life Coins.
Materials | Pokemon Required |
|---|---|
8 helpers with Bulldoze and Gather specialties |
Phase 4: "Rebuild the Huge Building!"
The main Important Request requires reconstructing the former Celadon Department Store floor by floor. Each floor has escalating material and Pokemon requirements.
Floor | Key Materials | Pokemon Needed | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
2nd Floor | 6 helpers including Tinkmaster | Glass: Smelt volcanic ash/sand in furnaces with Burn Pokemon | |
3rd Floor | 15 helpers including Tinkmaster | Copper Ore from Rocky Ridges caves; Glowing Stones from cave near train tracks | |
4th Floor | 15 helpers including Tinkmaster and Peakychu | Recruit Peakychu from Bleak Beach; befriend Metang (Recycle) for Paper from Wastepaper |
Each floor takes about 1 real-world hour to construct (skippable via system clock). Build Lift Platforms (5 Iron Ingots + 5 Concrete + 1 Tinkagear each) to connect floating islands as you progress.
Mewtwo Encounter
After completing all four floors, head to the rooftop. A Master Ball shakes and releases Mewtwo (#299). Mewtwo speaks about the disappearance of humans from Kanto. Examining the Master Ball raises your Trainer Rank to Master. Mewtwo's Teleport specialty is the best movement ability in the game.

General Walkthrough Tips
Look for Pokemon with yellow speech bubbles. These indicate Important Requests that advance the main story.
Rebuild the Pokemon Center in each region as early as possible. It provides free PP restoration once per day and access to the PC Shop.
Raise Environment Level by befriending Pokemon, improving comfort levels, building houses, and completing requests.
Cook meals regularly. Cooked food fully restores PP and provides a temporary move power-up (Salad strengthens Leafage, Bread strengthens Cut, Hamburger Steak strengthens Rock Smash).
Use the Dowsing Machine in every new area to find buried fossils, Lost Relics, CDs, and Mysterious Slates.
Keep your inventory organized. Buy Packing Tips upgrades from the PC Shop as soon as they become available.
Do not rush the story. Side activities like fishing, mining, and foraging provide resources that make main story quests much easier.
Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges can be done in either order. Some players prefer Rocky Ridges first for the cooking recipes and Rollout move.
