Overview
The main story of Pokemon Pokopia follows Ditto (in human form) as it works to restore four devastated regions back to thriving Pokemon habitats. Each region has a central storyline involving key Pokemon, important requests, and a final milestone that unlocks the next area. Completing all four regions leads to the Team Initiation Challenge and the game's credits.
To progress through each region, you must accomplish three things:
Complete the region's main Important Requests (marked with yellow speech bubbles on Pokemon).
Rebuild the region's Pokemon Center.
Raise the region's Environment Level to Level 5.
The main story takes roughly 20 to 40 hours to complete, depending on how much time you spend on side activities. Full completion (all Pokemon, relics, furniture, and habitats) can take 100+ hours.
Region 1: Withered Wasteland
The Withered Wasteland is where your journey begins. The land is barren, the grass has dried up, and the water has run dry. Your goal here is to learn the basics of building, crafting, and befriending Pokemon while restoring rain to the region.
Key Quests
Quest | Objective | Reward / Unlock |
|---|---|---|
Befriend the Kanto Starters | Build habitats for Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander | Learn basic building and befriending mechanics |
Build Your First Home | Construct your initial shelter using the Leaf Den Kit | Personal home and fast-travel point |
Rebuild the Pokemon Center | Gather materials and complete the first center reconstruction | Access to PC Shop, challenges, and Mystery Gifts |
Unlock Rock Smash | Befriend Slowpoke and learn the Rock Smash move | Ability to break boulders and access new areas |
Yawn Up a Storm! | Use humidity and weather mechanics to restore rain | Clears the region's main story objective |
Tip: Befriend Scyther early for the Chop specialty and Charmander for Burn. These two Pokemon cover most of your early material processing needs.
Region 2: Bleak Beach
After completing the Withered Wasteland, cross the eastern gate to reach Bleak Beach. This coastal region has sandy shores and dark skies. Your main task is to bring light back to the town by restoring its electrical infrastructure.
Key Quests
Quest | Objective | Reward / Unlock |
|---|---|---|
Enter the Gate and Restore the PC | Access Bleak Beach and activate the local Pokemon Center terminal | New region unlocked, local PC access |
Complete Meowth's Requests | Finish a series of habitat creation tasks for Meowth | Story progression and new habitat recipes |
Unlock Surf | Befriend Piplup and learn the Surf move | Ability to travel across water |
Brighten Things Up | Restore electricity and lighting infrastructure to the region | Clears the region's main story objective |
Bleak Beach introduces water exploration through the Surf move. You will also encounter Mosslax here, a unique Snorlax covered in moss that becomes an important NPC once befriended.
Region 3: Rocky Ridges
The mountain region of Rocky Ridges features rugged terrain, caves, and elevated areas that require new traversal abilities. The story here focuses on rescue and restoration.
Key Quests
Quest | Objective | Reward / Unlock |
|---|---|---|
Enter the Gate and Restore the PC | Access Rocky Ridges and activate the Pokemon Center terminal | New region unlocked, local PC access |
Rescue Chef Dente | Free the Greedent NPC trapped in the mountains | Unlocks Chef Dente's cooking services and feast feature |
Unlock Rollout | Befriend Golem and learn the Rollout move | Ability to roll over rough terrain and break certain obstacles |
Time to Party! | Prepare a curry feast requiring 15 Leppa Berries, 15 Wheat, 15 Beans, and 15 Honey | Clears the region's main story objective |
Tip: Start stockpiling Leppa Berries, Wheat, Beans, and Honey as soon as you arrive in Rocky Ridges. The "Time to Party!" quest requires 15 of each, which takes time to gather.
Region 4: Sparkling Skylands
Sparkling Skylands is the final story region, featuring floating islands and high-altitude areas. This region introduces the Glide ability and has the most demanding building requirements.
Key Quests
Quest | Objective | Reward / Unlock |
|---|---|---|
Enter the Gate and Restore the PC | Access Sparkling Skylands and activate the Pokemon Center terminal | Final region unlocked, local PC access |
Learn Glide | Befriend Dragonite and learn the Glide move | Ability to glide between floating islands and reach elevated areas |
Rebuild the Huge Building | Construct a large structure requiring 25 Concrete, 10 Glass, 5 Pokemetal, and 10 Iron Ingots | Major story progression milestone |
Reach the End Credits | Complete the Team Initiation Challenges and restore the final region | Credits roll, postgame content unlocks |
The "Rebuild the Huge Building" quest is the most resource-intensive in the game. You will need to have a well-established material processing pipeline including Smelting Furnaces for Glass and Iron Ingots, a Concrete Mixer for Concrete, and Pokemetal from Dream Islands.
After the Credits
Reaching the credits does not end the game. Post-game content includes continuing to befriend all remaining Pokemon, completing the Habitat Dex, finishing the Stamp Rally, collecting all Lost Relics, and building out Palette Town as your personal sandbox region. The Team Initiation Challenge tower also has additional tiers to complete after the story ends.
General Walkthrough Tips
Look for Pokemon with yellow speech bubbles. These indicate Important Requests that advance the main story.
Rebuild the Pokemon Center in each region as early as possible. It provides free PP restoration once per day and access to the PC Shop.
Raise Environment Level by befriending Pokemon, improving comfort levels, building houses, and completing requests.
Keep your inventory organized. Buy Packing Tips upgrades from the PC Shop as soon as they become available.
Cook meals regularly. Cooked food fully restores PP and provides a temporary move power-up. See the Cooking article for recipes.
Use the Dowsing Machine in every new area to find buried fossils, Lost Relics, and CDs.
Do not rush the story. Side activities like fishing, mining, and foraging provide resources that make main story quests much easier.
