Overview
Temperature is one of the five environmental preference categories in Pokemon Pokopia. Fire-type Pokemon and several Normal, Fairy, and Ghost-type Pokemon prefer warm habitats. Warmth is generated by fire-based decorations like campfires and candles, and can also be influenced by changing the weather to sunny. Meeting a Pokemon's warmth preference increases its Comfort Level.
Methods to Make a Habitat Warm
Method | Details |
|---|---|
Place Fire-Based Decorations | Decorations that illuminate habitats with fire generally warm them up. Campfires and candles are the primary decorations that increase warmth. Place them inside or near a habitat to raise the temperature. |
Change Weather to Sunny | Changing the weather to sunny helps warm the environment where the habitat is placed. Use a Sunny Day Site with a Pokemon that has the Burn specialty to alter weather patterns. |
Build a Roof to Protect Fires | Build a house with a roof to prevent campfires and candles from getting extinguished during rainy weather. You can use building kits or construct walls and a roof manually with blocks. |
Important: Lamps Do Not Provide Warmth
Decorations that use light, such as Lamps and Lamplights, do not warm habitats. Only fire-based items (campfires, candles) generate heat. This is a common mistake: placing lamps raises brightness but has zero effect on temperature.
Fire Decorations and the Burn Specialty
Campfires and candles must be lit by a Pokemon with the Burn specialty before they produce warmth. Lead a Burn-specialty Pokemon to an unlit campfire or candle and it will ignite the item. The following Pokemon have the Burn specialty:

Tips
Campfires and candles are the only decorations that raise temperature. Lamps and electric light sources do not provide warmth.
Always keep a Burn-specialty Pokemon like Charmander or Torchic nearby to light campfires and candles.
Build a roof over campfires and candles to prevent rain from extinguishing them. A roofed structure protects fire decorations from weather.
Use a Sunny Day Site with a Burn-specialty Pokemon to change the weather to sunny. This both warms the environment and prevents rain.
Fire-type Pokemon make up the majority of warm-preferring Pokemon. If you are raising a team of Fire-types, set up a dedicated warm zone with campfires and a protective roof.
You can check the area a habitat covers by pressing the Right Stick on your controller to see the white outline.
