Overview
The Eeveelution Challenges are a set of eight Special Challenges tied to Eevee and its evolved forms. When the player first visits the Pokemon Center in Palette Town and interacts with the PC, Eevee appears and asks for help finding its friends. Each challenge tasks the player with completing a specific objective in Palette Town, and the reward is a unique food item that serves as the key ingredient for building the corresponding Eeveelution's habitat.
All eight challenges can be viewed and tracked through the Special Challenge menu at the PC inside the Palette Town Pokemon Center. The challenges can be completed in any order, and there is no prerequisite beyond reaching Palette Town itself.
How It Works
Every Eeveelution habitat follows the same base recipe: one Seat (any type), one Table (any type), plus one unique food item. The food item is what differentiates each habitat, and it can only be obtained by completing the associated Special Challenge. Once the food item is unlocked, place it on a plate on any table next to a chair to assemble the habitat. The Eeveelution will then appear and can be befriended.
Some Eeveelutions also have time-of-day spawn restrictions. Espeon only appears during the morning, daytime, or evening, while Umbreon only appears at night. All other Eeveelutions spawn regardless of the time of day once their habitat is built.

Individual Challenge Details
Vaporeon: "Different Kinds of Flowers in Bloom!"
To unlock the Soda Float needed for Vaporeon's Boundless Blue Beverage habitat, the player must collect and grow 12 different types of flower seeds in Palette Town. Each biome in the game has its own color variants and secondary flower types, so visiting multiple regions and gathering seeds from different environments is important. Dream Islands can also help locate rarer flower varieties. Once all 12 types are planted and blooming in Palette Town, the challenge completes and the Soda Float recipe becomes available.

Objective | Collect and grow 12 different types of flower seeds |
Time Restriction | None |
Difficulty | Moderate (requires seeds from multiple biomes) |
Jolteon: "Power Machines with Electricity!"
Jolteon's challenge requires the player to power 50 machines with electricity across Palette Town. This involves crafting and placing Generators, Utility Poles, and Wireless Power Transmitters to create an electrical network. Any device that draws power counts toward the total, including lights, crafting stations, and powered furniture. This challenge becomes available after completing Bleak Beach, which is when electricity mechanics are introduced.

Objective | Power 50 machines with electricity |
Time Restriction | None |
Difficulty | Moderate to High (requires electrical infrastructure) |
Flareon: "Build Lots of Stuff!"
To earn the Pizza needed for Flareon's Burning-Hot Spice habitat, the player must use Pokemon-assisted building 15 times in Palette Town. Pokemon-assisted building refers to using a Pokemon's help to construct structures, which speeds up the building process. This includes constructing buildings, generators, and large plans. The three huge plans tied to Legendary Pokemon also count toward this total.

Objective | Use Pokemon-assisted building 15 times |
Time Restriction | None |
Difficulty | Low to Moderate |
Espeon: "Get a Pokemon Housemate!"
Espeon's challenge is one of the quickest to complete. The player simply needs to move a Pokemon into their home in Palette Town as a housemate. Build a house with the required amenities (a bed and a door at minimum), then invite any befriended Pokemon to move in. The challenge completes as soon as the Pokemon takes up residence, unlocking the Afternoon Tea Set.
Important: Espeon only spawns during the morning, daytime, or evening. If the habitat is built at night, the player will need to wait until daytime or adjust the in-game clock before Espeon appears.

Food Reward | Afternoon Tea Set |
Habitat | Elegant Daytime Treats (Any Seat + Any Table + Afternoon Tea Set) |
Objective | Move a Pokemon housemate into your home |
Time Restriction | Morning, Daytime, or Evening only |
Difficulty | Low (can be done in under 20 minutes) |
Umbreon: "Make Roads!"
Umbreon requires the most grinding of all eight challenges. The player must place 300 road blocks in Palette Town. Road blocks are basic building components, so this challenge is straightforward but time-consuming. Start placing roads early while working on other challenges to avoid a last-minute grind. It helps to attempt this challenge after unlocking the final Transformation tier, which provides convenience features that speed up block placement.
Important: Umbreon only appears at night. After building the Dark-Chocolate Cookies habitat, the player will need to wait until nighttime or adjust the in-game clock for Umbreon to spawn.

Food Reward | Chocolate Cookies |
Habitat | Dark-Chocolate Cookies (Any Seat + Any Table + Chocolate Cookies) |
Objective | Place 300 road blocks |
Time Restriction | Night only |
Difficulty | High (most time-consuming challenge) |
Leafeon: "Grow Lots of Veggies at Once!"
For Leafeon's challenge, the player must have 50 vegetables growing simultaneously in Palette Town. The key word is "simultaneously." Gathering 50 vegetable seeds first and then planting them all at once is the recommended approach. If vegetables are planted piecemeal and some finish growing before others are planted, the counter may not reach 50. Prepare a large farming area ahead of time, stockpile seeds from various regions, and then plant everything in one go.
Rain or planting near water sources can accelerate growth, but what matters for the challenge is having 50 actively growing vegetable plants at the same moment. Once the threshold is hit, the Sandwiches recipe unlocks.

Habitat | Leafy Green Sandwich (Any Seat + Any Table + Sandwiches) |
Objective | Have 50 vegetables growing simultaneously |
Time Restriction | None |
Difficulty | Moderate (requires seed stockpiling) |
Glaceon: "Make It Easier to Get Around!"
Glaceon's challenge asks the player to set up 5 lifts (elevators) in Palette Town. Lifts are vertical transportation structures that allow the player to move between different elevation levels quickly. The Elevator and Lift Platform recipes are required, and these may need to be unlocked through progression in Sparkling Skylands. Once 5 lifts are placed and functional in Palette Town, the Shaved Ice recipe unlocks.

Habitat | Chilly Shaved Ice (Any Seat + Any Table + Shaved Ice) |
Objective | Set up 5 lifts in Palette Town |
Time Restriction | None |
Difficulty | Moderate (requires elevator/lift recipes) |
Sylveon: "Find More Pokemon!"
Sylveon's challenge requires the player to encounter 10 different Pokemon species in Palette Town. This means attracting and discovering 10 unique species through habitat building, not simply having 10 of the same Pokemon. Each species only counts once, so diversifying habitats is essential. Check the Pokedex to track which species have already been found in Palette Town and which ones are still missing.

Spawn Time Restrictions
Most Eeveelutions appear at any time of day once their habitat is placed. However, two have strict time-of-day requirements that the player needs to keep in mind:
Eeveelution | Time Restriction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Espeon | Morning, Daytime, or Evening | Will not appear at night. Adjust in-game time if needed. |
Umbreon | Night only | Will not appear during the day. Combined with the 300-block road requirement, this makes Umbreon the grindiest Eeveelution. |
All other Eeveelutions (Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon) appear at any time of day as long as their habitat is constructed and the food item is placed.
Recommended Challenge Order
While the challenges can be completed in any order, the following approach prioritizes quick wins and practical specialties:
Espeon (first): The easiest challenge. Moving a Pokemon housemate into your home takes less than 20 minutes if you already have a befriended Pokemon. Espeon's Fly specialty lets you fast-travel to any Pokemon's location through the Pokedex, which is immediately useful.
Flareon (second): Building 15 structures with Pokemon assistance is relatively quick and happens naturally as you develop Palette Town. Flareon's Burn specialty lights Furnaces, Bread Ovens, and Campfires, which is essential for cooking and crafting.
Jolteon (third): Powering 50 machines requires some infrastructure setup, but Jolteon's Generate specialty makes it self-sustaining by powering machines and lights with electricity afterward.
Sylveon (fourth): If you have been building habitats for other Pokemon along the way, reaching 10 species in Palette Town should happen naturally around this point.
Vaporeon (fifth): Collecting 12 flower seed types requires visiting multiple biomes, so it pairs well with general exploration. Vaporeon's Water specialty waters crops and increases humidity.
Leafeon (sixth): Stockpiling 50 vegetable seeds takes time. Leafeon's Grow specialty accelerates crop growth, making it a strong companion for farming.
Glaceon (seventh): Requires elevator/lift recipes from later game progression (Sparkling Skylands). Plan to tackle this one after advancing the story.
Umbreon (last): Placing 300 road blocks is a grind. Start laying roads early so the progress accumulates passively while you work on other challenges.
Tips
Build all Eeveelution habitats in a dedicated section of Palette Town for easy management and an impressive visual display.
For Leafeon's challenge, do not plant vegetables in small batches. Wait until you have gathered all 50 seeds, then plant them at the same time. Partial plantings that finish growing before the rest are planted will not count toward the 50 threshold.
For Umbreon, start placing road blocks early in your Palette Town development. The 300-block requirement takes time, and doing it passively alongside other tasks is more efficient than trying to finish it all at once.
For Glaceon, make sure to progress through Sparkling Skylands in the main story to unlock the elevator and lift platform recipes before attempting the challenge.
Use the Stamp Rally and Life Coins to purchase habitat hints from the PC Shop if you are struggling to find specific habitat traces.
The Eevee Doll is one of seven Dream Island dolls. Using it can spawn Suicune on the resulting Dream Island, providing an additional incentive to pursue the Eeveelution line.
