Rebuild the Huge Building

Overview

"Rebuild the Huge Building!" is the Important Request for Sparkling Skylands in Pokemon Pokopia. The quest involves reconstructing the former Celadon Department Store floor by floor under the guidance of Tinkmaster (a Tinkaton with the unique Engineer specialty). Each floor requires specific materials and a minimum number of Pokemon helpers. Completing all three floors and reaching the rooftop triggers an encounter with the legendary Pokemon Mewtwo and raises your Trainer Rank to Master.

Prerequisites

Before the building quest begins, you must:

1. Complete the main story quests in Withered Wasteland, Bleak Beach, and Rocky Ridges

2. Reach Ultra Trainer Rank (requires completing both Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges)

3. Enter Sparkling Skylands through one of the three gates

4. Learn Glide from Dragonite (Waterside Dinghy habitat + 5 Alarm Clocks)

5. Learn Waterfall from Gyarados (found beneath the floating islands)

Pre-Quest Setup

Before the floor-by-floor rebuild starts, several setup steps are required:

1. Meet Tinkmaster: Climb the tall tower in Sparkling Skylands using a Lift platform. Tinkmaster's first request is to bring 6 Concrete and 1 Iron Ingot.

2. Build Lift Platforms: Lift Platforms cost 5 Concrete, 1 Tinkagear, and 5 Iron Ingots each. You need at least two to reach the building site.

3. Craft Tinkagears: Provide Tinkmaster with 2 Iron Ingots per Tinkagear. Tinkmaster crafts them using the Engineer specialty.

4. Build a Concrete supply: Construct the Construction-Site Generator habitat (Iron Pipes + Scaffolds) to befriend Conkeldurr, who processes Limestone into Concrete at the Concrete Mixer (1 Limestone yields 4 Concrete).

5. Investigate the building: Interact with Tinkmaster at the Celadon Department Store ruins to begin the rebuild.

Tinkmaster and the Engineer Specialty

Tinkmaster is a Tinkaton and the only Pokemon in Pokopia with the Engineer specialty. The Engineer specialty allows a Pokemon to captain large building projects, which is distinct from the standard Build specialty (general construction assistance) and the Crush specialty (material processing). Tinkmaster's all-purpose hammer drives the reconstruction, and you speak to Tinkmaster between floors to initiate each new phase.

Tinkmaster also crafts Tinkagears (2 Iron Ingots each), which are essential components for Lift Platforms and several Team Initiation Challenge stages.

Floor-by-Floor Rebuild

The ground floor (1F) already exists as the base structure. The quest objective is to rebuild three upper floors (2F, 3F, 4F). Each floor takes approximately 1 real-world hour to construct after materials are delivered. You can skip the wait by advancing the Nintendo Switch 2 system clock.

2F (Second Floor)

Requires 6 Pokemon helpers including Tinkmaster (Engineer specialty). Glass is smelted from Volcanic Ash at a furnace. Pokemetal Fragments are found in the mine under Sparkling Skylands and in Withered Wasteland.

3F (Third Floor)

Requires 15 Pokemon helpers including Tinkmaster and Chef Dente (a Greedent from Rocky Ridges with the Party specialty). Chef Dente must be recruited to Sparkling Skylands before 3F construction can begin. Glowing Stones are found in Rocky Ridges mines. Copper Ingots are smelted from Copper Ore (also from Rocky Ridges caves).

4F (Fourth Floor)

Requires 10 Pokemon helpers including Tinkmaster and Peakychu (from Bleak Beach with the Illuminate specialty). Peakychu must be recruited to Sparkling Skylands before 4F construction can begin. Paper is obtained by having Metang (Recycle specialty) convert Wastepaper (1 Wastepaper yields 2 Paper). Metang is obtained during the quest by building the Professor's Apprentice Program habitat (1 Whiteboard, 1 Jumbled Cords, 1 Table, 1 Laptop).

Key Helper Pokemon

Between floors, you need to gather new materials and potentially recruit new Pokemon helpers. The recruitment side-trips to other regions (Rocky Ridges for Chef Dente, Bleak Beach for Peakychu) happen between floor completions.

Mewtwo Encounter

After completing the 4F, a mysterious voice speaks. Professor Tangrowth directs you to the rooftop of the rebuilt Celadon Department Store. At the top, a Master Ball shakes and releases Mewtwo (Pokedex #299). Mewtwo speaks about the disappearance of humans from Kanto, sharing mysterious prophecies about the world's past. After the conversation, Mewtwo departs.

Examining the Master Ball on the rooftop raises your Trainer Rank to Master (the highest rank in the game). After the encounter, head out of the building and speak to Professor Tangrowth at the entrance to complete the quest.

Mewtwo can be re-encountered on Dream Islands (via the Dragonite Doll) during the post-game to attempt befriending it.

Material Sourcing Guide

Tips

• Stock up on Concrete early. You need 90 total across all three floors, plus 50 for Team Initiation Challenge Stage 4. Limestone comes from Rocky Ridges.

• Each floor takes about 1 real-world hour to build. Use the time to gather materials for the next floor.

• Trade Iron Ingots to Tinkmaster regularly for Tinkagears. You need them for Lift Platforms and the Team Initiation Challenge.

• Recruit Chef Dente from Rocky Ridges and Peakychu from Bleak Beach before you need them. The side-trips take time.

• Build Metang's Professor's Apprentice Program habitat as soon as possible. Collecting Wastepaper scattered around Sparkling Skylands and recycling it into Paper is the only way to get the 10 Paper needed for 4F.

• Explore beneath the floating islands to find Gyarados and learn Waterfall before starting the building quest. Access to higher platforms makes material gathering much easier.

• After completing 4F, do not forget to speak to Professor Tangrowth at the building entrance to officially complete the quest.
