Overview
Dream Islands are uninhabited islands separate from the player's main world in Pokemon Pokopia. They serve as resource hubs for gathering materials, collecting Ancient Artifacts, finding Stardust, and encountering Legendary Pokemon. Dream Islands are accessed through Drifloon, who has the Dream Island specialty. Each island type is determined by the Doll the player presents to Drifloon.
How to Access
Place a Doll on the ground and interact with Drifloon. Drifloon will transport the player to the Dream Island corresponding to that Doll type. Only one Doll can be used per day. However, the player can revisit that same island multiple times within the same day, though materials and resources do not respawn between same-day visits.

Where to Find Dolls
Dolls are found in several ways:
Glowing Blocks scattered across all areas. Use Rock Smash to break them. The Dowsing Machine helps locate these blocks.
Pokemon Center PC Shop in Palette Town and other areas (purchase with Life Coins).
Random Poke Ball item pickups found lying around the map.
Stardust
Dream Islands are the only place to find Stardust in Pokemon Pokopia. Stardust appears as sparkly pink mounds on beaches, coastal areas, and inside caves on all island types. Collecting 99 Stardust at a crafting bench compresses them into a Star Piece. Star Pieces have two main uses:
Source | Details |
|---|---|
Link Play gifting | When visiting a friend's island and encountering a Pokemon you do not have, gift a Star Piece to receive a gift in return. |
Give Star Pieces to Porygon2 (Rarify specialty) to convert them into Rare Pokemetal, needed for the Clear Bell and Tidal Bell. |
Legendary Encounters
Three Legendary Beasts and Mewtwo can be encountered randomly on specific Dream Island types. Encounters are not guaranteed on any single visit. If the Legendary is present, it will be found inside a cave chamber behind breakable blocks (Ice, Steel, Lava, or Crystal blocks depending on the island). Each Legendary has 3 Rare Pokemetal on a pedestal behind it.
Legendary | Island | Doll | Block Type to Break |
|---|---|---|---|
Wasteland | Ice Blocks | ||
Ocean | Steel Blocks | ||
Volcanic | Lava Blocks | ||
Sky | Gym-like cave structure |
If a Legendary does not appear, wait until the next real-world day or adjust the Nintendo Switch 2 system clock forward one day to reset the Dream Island spawn.
Stamp Rally
Players can collect Stamp Rally stamps from Pokemon Center PCs on Dream Islands. This counts toward the weekly stamp total, making Dream Island visits doubly productive for both material farming and Life Coin income.
Multiplayer
Dream Islands can be visited during multiplayer sessions. Players can explore Dream Islands cooperatively with friends, gathering materials together.
Daily Routine
An efficient daily Dream Island routine covers material farming, Legendary hunting, Stardust collection, and Stamp Rally in a single visit:
Eat Hamburger Steak before departing (powers up Rock Smash for ore and Legendary blocks).
Present a Doll to Drifloon and travel to the Dream Island.
Break all Glowing Blocks for Mystery Slates, Dolls, and Lost Relics.
Mine all ore deposits and Pokemetal Fragments.
Collect Stardust from beaches and caves.
Check for Legendary Pokemon in cave chambers.
Collect the daily Stamp Rally stamp from the PC.
Where to Find Each Doll
Dolls are the key items needed to access Dream Islands. While most dolls come from random Glowing Block drops, several have fixed spawn locations that guarantee you find them early in the game.
Fixed Doll Locations
Doll | Location | How to Obtain |
|---|---|---|
Eevee Doll | Withered Wasteland, near the Pokemon Center | Turn right when facing the Pokemon Center. Break the soft wall on the right, then turn right again. Break the Glowing Block behind it. |
Pikachu Doll | Bleak Beach, near the starting stairs | Head down the stairs at the start of Bleak Beach. Two small huts sit on either side of the path. The Pikachu Doll is inside the hut on the right. |
Other Ways to Get Dolls
Source | Details |
|---|---|
Glowing Blocks | Break Glowing Blocks using Rock Smash anywhere in the game world. There is a random chance of receiving a doll. Use the Dowsing Machine with a Search-specialty Pokemon to locate hidden blocks more easily. |
Purchase dolls from the Pokemon Center PC Shop in Palette Town and other areas using Life Coins. Stock rotates daily. | |
Poke Ball pickups | Random Poke Ball item drops found on the ground occasionally contain dolls. |
Detailed Legendary Encounter Guide
Legendary encounters on Dream Islands are random and not guaranteed on any visit. When a Legendary is present, it will be found inside an underground cave chamber behind breakable blocks. Each Legendary also has 3 Rare Pokemetal on a pedestal behind it, so always check the chamber thoroughly even after speaking to the Legendary.
Suicune (Wasteland Dream Island)
Use the Eevee Doll to travel to the Wasteland Dream Island. Head toward the rocks in the center of the island and enter the caves. Keep walking through the cave system until you find Ice Blocks blocking a section. Break the Ice Blocks to reach Suicune's chamber. Ice is a rare material, so collect any loose Ice blocks along the way before breaking through to Suicune.
Raikou (Ocean Dream Island)
Use the Pikachu Doll to reach the Ocean Dream Island. Head toward the central mountain and look for cave entrances. Dive into the caves and follow the paths downward. If Raikou is present, you will find an area with Steel Blocks and a few gaps in the wall. Break through the Steel Blocks to reach Raikou. Collect the 3 Rare Pokemetal from the pedestal behind it before leaving.
Entei (Volcanic Dream Island)
Use the Arcanine Doll to access the Volcanic Dream Island. Head straight to the center of the lava-cracked mountain and jump down the entrance. Follow the path down into the mountain's interior, which has considerably less lava inside than outside. If Entei is present, you will see a boxed-off corner with Lava Blocks stopping your progress. Break through the Lava Blocks to reach Entei.
Mewtwo (Sky Dream Island)
Use the Dragonite Doll to reach the Sky Dream Island. Mewtwo's encounter works differently from the three Legendary Beasts. Instead of simple breakable blocks, you need to navigate through a gym-like cave structure with Crystal block puzzles. Mewtwo is found at the end of this structure. Some players report that Mewtwo may require progressing further in the main story before it can appear on Dream Islands.
Island-Specific Material Farming
Each Dream Island type offers unique materials that are difficult or impossible to find in the main world. Here is a breakdown of farming priorities by island.
Island | Priority Materials | Farming Notes |
|---|---|---|
Wasteland (Eevee) | Leppa Berry, Vine Rope, Glowing Mushrooms | Good early-game island. Leppa Berries are useful for cooking. Glowing Mushrooms are used in several furniture recipes. |
Ocean (Pikachu) | Twine, Sea Glass Fragments, Seashells | Sea Glass Fragments are a key ingredient for the Beach Pokemon Center rebuild kit. |
Rock Peak (Clefairy) | The only island without a Legendary encounter. Best for bulk Copper Ore farming. Ice is rare and valuable. | |
Volcanic (Arcanine) | Best island for mid-to-late game metal farming. Gold Ore is needed for the Altar of the Flame legendary bird kit. | |
Sky (Dragonite) | Wastepaper, Pokemetal Fragments, Crystal Fragments | The best endgame island. Pokemetal Fragments are needed for City-style building kits and advanced recipes. |
Ditto and Substitute Dolls
The Ditto Doll and Substitute Doll both send you to a random Dream Island rather than a specific one. The Ditto Doll reportedly has a higher Stardust spawn rate compared to using a specific doll, making it the preferred choice when Stardust farming is the priority. The Substitute Doll sends you to any random island and has a ghost-themed aesthetic, making it great for collecting unique decorations and setting up Haunter habitats.
Tips
The Ditto Doll sends you to a random island and reportedly has a higher Stardust spawn rate. Use it when Stardust farming is the priority.
Stock up on multiple copies of each Doll type at the Palette Town PC Shop so you can target specific islands daily.
The Sky Dream Island (Dragonite Doll) is the best for Pokemetal Fragment farming and also offers Mewtwo encounters.
Always bring Hamburger Steak. You need powered-up Rock Smash for ore blocks and for breaking into Legendary encounter chambers.
Break every Glowing Block to progress toward collecting all 27 Mystery Slates for unlocking Mew.
