Overview
Rollout is a Ditto transformation move in Pokemon Pokopia that transforms Ditto into Graveler for high-speed rolling. It is the eleventh move unlocked in the game, learned at Rocky Ridges. Rollout serves two purposes: fast overland travel and efficient block destruction.
How to Unlock
Prerequisites
You need to have already learned Rock Smash and eaten a Simple Hamburger Steak. After consuming the steak, speak with Machoke to trigger the hint for the Mossy Boulder habitat.
Build the Mossy Boulder Habitat
This habitat must be built inside a cave in Rocky Ridges. The required items:
Item | Quantity |
|---|---|
Large Mossy Boulder | 1 |
Mossy Grassy Items | 4 |
Once the habitat is complete, Graveler will spawn. Talk to Graveler to learn Rollout.
Controls
Button | Action |
|---|---|
ZR | Transform into Graveler and start rolling |
Left Stick | Steer while rolling |
Hold ZR | Break blocks continuously while rolling through them |
Rollout is a full-body transformation. Ditto takes on Graveler's round shape and rolls forward at a speed significantly faster than the default running pace. The transformation ends when you release ZR or run out of PP.
PP Cost
Rollout consumes PP continuously while active. The drain rate is moderate, so you can cover a fair distance before needing to eat food or visit a Pokemon Center to restore energy.
Rollout vs. Rock Smash
Both Rollout and Rock Smash can destroy terrain blocks, but they work differently:
Feature | Rollout | Rock Smash |
|---|---|---|
Speed | Very fast (rolling) | Stationary (punching) |
Area Coverage | Destroys blocks along your rolling path | Destroys blocks directly in front of you |
Movement | Mobile while attacking | Stationary while punching |
Best For | Clearing long tunnels, fast travel | Precise single-block removal, mining |
Food Upgrade
Eating a Hamburger Steak temporarily upgrades both Rock Smash and Rollout, allowing you to break harder materials such as Iron Ore, Gold Ore, and Pokemetal Fragments. The upgrade is indicated by a yellow meter that depletes over time. Once it runs out, the moves revert to their standard strength.
Tips
Rollout is the fastest way to travel overland in the game. Use it to cross large open areas in Rocky Ridges and Withered Wasteland quickly.
When farming materials, combine Rollout with the Hamburger Steak upgrade to carve through cave walls and collect ore deposits in bulk.
Be careful near ledges. Rolling off a cliff does not trigger Glide automatically. You will fall and take no damage, but you may end up far from where you wanted to be.
In multiplayer, other players see your Graveler form rolling around, which can be amusing for group exploration sessions.
