Overview
Bleak Beach is the second region players can explore in Pokemon Pokopia. Set in the ruins of Vermilion City, it features a portside town with a beachside and lighthouse, all shrouded in darkness. The central challenge of this area is restoring electricity to the town and accumulating 100 Bloom Points to wake up Mosslax. Completing this region also unlocks the Surf ability, which lets Ditto swim through water.
How to Unlock
Bleak Beach becomes accessible after completing the Withered Wasteland storyline and befriending Kyogre, which raises your rank to Super Trainer. Approach the green gate surrounded by rock cliffs east of the Withered Wasteland Pokemon Center and inspect the door to enter.
Story Progression
Phase 1: Restore the PC and Build Bridges
Follow Professor Tangrowth through Bleak Beach to locate the destroyed Pokemon Center.
Craft Bridge Planks at a workbench and repair the two broken bridges to allow Tangrowth passage.
Place Beach Sand blocks north of the destroyed Pokemon Center to remove surrounding water, then activate the PC.
Receive the "Rebuild the Pokemon Center" Important Request.
Phase 2: Complete Meowth's Requests
Talk to Meowth underwater and place blocks behind his house to stop water from flooding in.
Create a Tropical Vibes habitat using seashore flowers next to a tropical tree. Build a Knitting Station by placing blocks between red brick blocks in flooded areas.
Befriend two Pokemon through habitats, then create 2 Mushroom Lamps from Glowing Mushrooms (found in nearby caves) and place them in Meowth's house.
Build a Hydrated Yellow Tall Grass habitat (4 Yellow Tall Grass near water) to befriend Piplup. Have Piplup spray bubbles on mud, then use Water Gun to wash it all away from Meowth's house.
Build a Chirp-Chirp Meal habitat to befriend Torchic. Process Squishy Clay (via Rock Smash) into Bricks. Create Planters (1 Brick + 1 Stone) and plant flowers inside them.
Phase 3: Unlock the Surf Move
Build a Trash Collection Site habitat (Waste Bin + Garbage Bag + Sign) to befriend Trubbish. Have Trubbish convert Nonburnable Garbage to Iron Ore and receive the Shower recipe.
Craft and place a Shower. Build a Breezy Flower Bed (4 Seashore Flowers) to befriend Pawmi. Have Pawmi light up the gate lamp.
Create a Tropical Seaside habitat (1 Large Palm Tree + 2 Ocean Water + 4 Hedges) along the shoreline to befriend Lapras.
Follow Piplup and wash away approximately 80 squares of mud by blowing bubbles and using Water Gun.
Talk to Lapras after the mud is cleared to learn Surf. Follow Piplup while using Surf (watch your PP) and talk to him when he stops.
Phase 4: Brighten Things Up! (Important Request)
This is the main Important Request of Bleak Beach. You need to accumulate 100 Bloom Points by restoring electricity and illuminating the town to wake Mosslax.
Part A: Initial Lighting
Befriend Pawmi or Pawmo and use them to light Harbor Streetlights. Follow Trubbish to the dock area.
Take Trubbish southeast of the Pokemon Center to find a collapsed bridge. Repair it with blocks.
Use Rock Smash to break the wall blocking the moss-covered Mosslax. Return with Tangrowth to unlock the "Brighten Things Up" Important Request.
Talk to Meowth and light up three streetlights using Pawmi or Pawmo.
Part B: Power Grid Setup
Build a Resort Meal Prep habitat (Bonfire + Log Chair + Wooden Plate with Leppa Berry + Palm Tree) for Torchic.
Befriend Peakychu (Pikachu variant). Create a Shell Lamp (1 Shell + 1 Sea Glass Fragment) and place it in Mosslax's cave. Have an Electric-type Pokemon light it.
Follow Peakychu to the windmill. Connect a Utility Pole to the wind turbine. Place a Harbor Streetlight near the powered Utility Pole to illuminate the town.
Place more Utility Poles to connect the charging station to the windmill network.
Talk to Torchic for help making electricity. Find the Furnace at the southwest map edge. Power it with Utility Poles and add Lumber and Sturdy Sticks to generate electricity.
Talk to Piplup for the Water Wheel hint. Find the Water Wheel at the southeast map edge. Destroy blocks north of it to allow water flow, activating the wheel.
Take Trubbish to the lighthouse on the east side. Connect a power pole to the roof to light the spotlight. Climb to the top.
Part C: Reach 100 Bloom Points
Connect the Water Wheel, Furnace, and Windmill to the charging station using Utility Poles.
Continue lighting all unlit streetlights, spotlights, and flames throughout the area.
Once you reach 100 Bloom Points, climb to the top of the lighthouse. Talk to Raikou, then talk to Mosslax to complete the Important Request.

Tips for 100% Completion
Connect all three power sources (Windmill, Furnace, Water Wheel) to the charging station early. This makes it much easier to light every streetlight and reach 100 Bloom Points.
Learn Surf as soon as possible. Several Human Records (Sailor Dylan's Diary, Hacker's Confessions) and the S.S. Anne are only accessible by swimming.
Stock up on Utility Poles. You need many of them to wire the entire power grid. Craft them from Iron Ore at a workbench.
Complete all of Meowth's requests in order. Each one unlocks the next step in the story progression.
Befriend Pawmi early. Electric-type Pokemon are needed frequently to light lamps and power devices throughout this area.
After waking Mosslax, offer him Dry-flavor food to boost Silver and Rainbow Feather spawn rates, which are used for crafting the Tidal Bell and Clear Bell.
Raise the Environment Level to 5 before leaving to access the Team Initiation Challenge.
