Overview
Starsand Island features over more than 40 distinct vehicles covering land, water, and air travel. Players can skate, ride, drive, sail, and even glide across the island using a wide range of transportation options. Vehicles are obtained through crafting blueprints at a Worktable, purchasing pre-built models from Neona's G-Power Bike shop, renting scooters and mopeds around town, or earning special vehicles through quest rewards. Your first vehicle is a Skateboard, crafted during the early Crafter profession questline.
Beyond mechanical vehicles, players can also ride animal mounts rented from Pastelle's Green Pasture Ranch, and the legendary Luna Deer earned by completing the Moonlit Forest. Many vehicles support passengers, letting you bring along NPC companions and pets for the ride.
G-Power Bike Shop
The G-Power Bike shop is owned and operated by Neona, an engineer and mechanic located east of the player's home along the main road. The shop serves as the central hub for all vehicle-related activities in the game. At G-Power Bike, players can:

Item | Description |
|---|---|
Purchase pre-built vehicles | ready to ride immediately |
Buy vehicle blueprints | for crafting at a Worktable (significantly cheaper than buying pre-built) |
Customize vehicles | with paint jobs, decals, wheel rims, and interior modifications |
Rent bikes | available just outside the shop |
During the Apprentice Crafter quest with Zerine, the player visits Neona for the first time. She gives the player a free Scooter Rental Pass, which allows free 48-hour electric scooter rentals at any scooter parking spot across the island.
Direct Purchase Vehicles
Five vehicles can be purchased as finished, ready-to-ride models from Neona's G-Power Bike shop. These cost more than crafting from blueprints but require no materials or Worktable access.

Craftable Vehicles
Vehicle blueprints are purchased from Neona's shop and then crafted at a Worktable. Crafting is substantially cheaper than buying pre-built vehicles. For example, the Reindeer Motorbike blueprint costs 29,800 Coins to buy and craft, compared to 85,000 Coins for the pre-built version. All vehicle blueprints are available by default with no profession certifications required to purchase them.

Vehicle Rentals
Players can rent vehicles around the island without purchasing or crafting them. This is a convenient option early in the game when funds are limited.
Scooter Rental Pass
The Scooter Rental Pass grants free use of electric scooters for 48 hours per use. There are 11 scooter parking spots scattered across Starsand Town and Half-Moon Bay, including near Zerine's General Store, the Community Center, and the G-Power Bike shop. The pass is obtained in two ways:
Neona gives you one for free during the Apprentice Crafter questline when you first visit her shop
Treasure Chests found during open-world exploration may contain additional passes
During the 48-hour rental period, you can dismount the scooter and recall it from anywhere. Once the time expires, you need another pass to rent again.
Hourly Rentals
Mopeds, bikes, and other vehicles can be rented by the hour at various locations. Rental costs scale with the vehicle type.
Vehicle | Rental Cost | Location |
|---|---|---|
Moped | ~10 Coins/hour | Scattered at various spots around the island |
Bike | Low hourly rate | Outside G-Power Bike shop |
Sports Car | ~54 Coins/hour | Premium rental location |
When a rental period ends, open the Travel section in your phone menu to view usage duration and the amount owed. Select Pay Now to settle the fee, then choose End Rental to return the vehicle or Renew Rental to continue using it. Neona occasionally gives out free vouchers for borrowing bikes at her shop.
Quest Reward Vehicles
Three vehicles are obtained through profession quest progression rather than purchases.
Skateboard
The Skateboard is the very first vehicle players receive. It is crafted during the "Secret of Crafting" quest given by Zerine at the General Store as part of the Apprentice Crafter certification. The quest teaches players how to use crafting stations by building a Charcoal Kiln and Furnace to produce the required materials: 3 Copper Ingots and 3 Softwood Planks. The Skateboard provides a meaningful speed boost over walking and can jump over railings and staircases. It is one of the few vehicles that works inside the Moonlit Forest.
Verdant Breeze (Rollerblades)
The Verdant Breeze rollerblades are the second vehicle players unlock. The blueprint is given by Neona shortly after the player meets her during the Crafter questline. Crafting requires 5 Hardwood Planks and 2 Rubber. Like the Skateboard, rollerblades are compact enough to work inside the Moonlit Forest where larger vehicles are restricted.
Waverider Hoverboard
The Waverider is a hoverboard crafted as part of the Senior Crafter certification. It builds on the Skateboard as a base component and requires Spirit Cube II components, Flamecore Ingots, and a Solid-State Battery (made on the Energy Converter). Some of these materials can only be found in the Moonlit Forest after opening the Bronze Gate in Mural Valley. The Waverider can hover upward, allowing players to reach higher elevations, and it works inside the Moonlit Forest, making it especially useful for exploring that area.
Luna Deer Mount
The Luna Deer is the only permanent mount in the game. Unlike rented animal mounts, the Luna Deer never expires and can be summoned at any time. It is earned by completing the entire Moonlit Forest and defeating the Ruin Guard, the final boss.
To unlock the Luna Deer:
Progress through the Explorer profession questline to unlock the Moonlit Forest entrance (behind your home)
Navigate through the Moonlit Forest dungeons, collecting Ruin Keys and solving puzzles
Defeat the Ruin Guard boss using a Bow and Bomb Arrows (aim for the weak spot on its head when exposed)
After the boss falls, an altar appears. Place 3 Moonstone, 3 Spirit Berry, and 1 Prayer on the altar
The Prayer item is obtained from Zephyria after returning to report your victory
Animal Mounts
Animal mounts are available for rent at Pastelle's Green Pasture Ranch in Green Meadow. Players must first reach the Senior Rancher certification through the Rancher profession to unlock mount rentals.
Detail | Information |
|---|---|
Rental Cost | 15 to 30 Coins per hour, depending on the animal |
Available Animals | Horses, ostriches, alpacas, deer, and other ranch animals |
Duration | Rental lasts for the paid duration; mount disappears when time expires |
Requirements | Animals must be adults with adequate happiness levels to be rideable |
Ownership | Players can also raise their own mounts through Rancher profession progression |
Other Vehicles
Several additional vehicles exist beyond the standard craftable and purchasable options.
Vehicle | Type | How to Obtain |
|---|---|---|
Air | Allows gliding from high points; useful for crossing gaps and descending from elevated areas | |
Water | Premium watercraft available through Neona's shop | |
Bus Station | Craftable transport infrastructure; repair 10 stations around the island for 15 Coins per trip fast travel | |
Teleporter | Instant teleportation between set points on the island | |
Pumpkin Carriage | Land (DLC) | Fairy-tale themed carriage; included in the Classic European Furniture, Fashion & Vehicles DLC |
Water | Floating home with customizable deck, crop plots, animal pens, and sea fishing |
Vehicle Customization
Vehicles can be personalized at Neona's G-Power Bike shop through the Vehicle Modification system. Customization options include:
Vehicle | Details |
|---|---|
Paint jobs | Change the color scheme of your vehicle |
Decals | Apply decorative stickers and designs |
Wheel rims | Swap out different rim styles |
Interiors | Modify the cabin details on enclosed vehicles |
Not all vehicles support every modification type. Larger vehicles like cars tend to have the most customization options, while simpler rides like skateboards and rollerblades have limited or no modification support.
Vehicle Controls and Summoning
Players can summon owned vehicles from anywhere on the island without returning to a parking spot or shop.
Action | Control |
|---|---|
Open Garage | Press R to open the vehicle/mount garage menu |
Summon Vehicle | Select a vehicle from the garage; hold R to place larger vehicles nearby |
Mount/Dismount | Press F to start or stop riding |
Movement | W, A, S, D keys for directional control |
Jump | Spacebar (available on skateboard, rollerblades, and hoverboard) |
Camera | Mouse to adjust viewing angle while riding |
Vehicles can also be equipped to the hotbar through the backpack menu, then pulled out with the assigned key. The Travel section in the phone menu tracks active rentals, owned vehicles, and payment status for any outstanding rental fees.
Passenger and Pet Features
Many vehicles in Starsand Island support carrying additional riders beyond the player.
Feature | Description |
|---|---|
NPC Passengers | Vehicles with passenger seats let you invite NPC companions to ride along. The dual-seat feature allows scenic journeys with characters like Solara and other island residents once sufficient friendship levels are reached. |
Pet Transport | Vehicles with sidecars, baskets, or footrests can carry your active pet. Larger pets ride in sidecars, while smaller pets like cats fit in baskets. |
Starsand Island is single-player only during Early Access. Multiplayer support is planned for a future update, but as of the current version all vehicles and mounts are designed for solo use. |
Moonlit Forest Restrictions
Standard vehicles (motorbikes, cars, boats) cannot enter the Moonlit Forest. Only three compact personal transport options work inside the forest:
Skateboard
Verdant Breeze (Rollerblades)
Waverider Hoverboard
This restriction makes the Waverider particularly valuable, since it is the fastest of the three options and can hover to reach elevated platforms within the forest dungeon. Players exploring the Moonlit Forest should craft the Waverider before entering if possible, as many of the materials needed for it are found within the forest itself.
Tips for New Players
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Prioritize the Skateboard early | . It is free to craft during the tutorial quests and faster than walking for all early-game travel. |
Use the Scooter Rental Pass | from Neona to get 48 hours of free scooter use while saving up for a permanent vehicle. |
Always buy blueprints over pre-built vehicles | . Crafting saves significant Coins. The Reindeer Motorbike costs 29,800 Coins as a blueprint versus 85,000 Coins pre-built. |
Build the Bamboo Raft early | . It costs only 400 Coins and 10 Bamboo Strips, and it is required for Bruce's Flying Fish Sample quest. |
Vehicles are faster than bus stops in most cases | . Bus stops cost 15 Coins per trip and require repair investment, while owned vehicles have no per-trip cost. |
Save for the Jet Ski | if you enjoy water activities. It is required for the Offshore Racing event during the Beach Festival. |
