Energy Converter
Complete guide to the Energy Converter in Starsand Island. Covers how to unlock and craft this endgame station, its three recipes (Solid-State Battery, Mini Reactor, Perpetual Reactor), and how it connects to teleporters, robots, sprinklers, and crafting station upgrades.
Energy Converter
The Energy Converter is an advanced crafting station in Starsand Island that produces the three types of power components needed for endgame progression: Solid-State Batteries, Mini Reactors, and Perpetual Reactors. These components are required to upgrade your Furnace, Cutter, and Worktable to Tier III, craft Teleporters for fast travel, build the Robot Terminal for automated resource gathering, and create Sprinklers for farm automation. The Energy Converter is the gateway between mid-game crafting and endgame technology.
How to Unlock
The Energy Converter blueprint is purchased from Zerine's General Store and becomes available at the Intermediate Crafter profession level. Building the Energy Converter is a key objective in the Intermediate Crafter Trial quest.
To reach Intermediate Crafter, you must first complete the Apprentice and Junior Crafter tiers. The Crafter profession is the first and mandatory profession in the game; you cannot start Farming, Fishing, Ranching, or Exploration until you complete the Apprentice Crafter tier.
Crafting Recipe
The Energy Converter is crafted at any Worktable (Tier I or above). It requires:
Material | Quantity | Source |
|---|---|---|
Alloy | 4 | Furnace II (1 Gold Ingot + 1 Copper Ingot + 1 Iron Ingot + 1 Coal) |
Magnet | 3 | Furnace II (4 Magnetite + 1 Coal) |
Starflare Core | 2 | Furnace II (4 Primorite + 1 Coal) |
Gear | 3 | Gear Smith (1 Tin Ingot each) |
Prism | 2 | Gear Smith (3 Glass Brick each) |
Several of these materials require intermediate processing:
Sub-Material | Recipe | Station |
|---|---|---|
Glass Brick | 4 Quartz + 1 Charcoal | Furnace |
Gold Ingot | 4 Gold Ore + 1 Coal | Furnace II |
Iron Ingot | 4 Iron Ore + 1 Charcoal | Furnace |
Copper Ingot | 4 Copper + 1 Charcoal | Furnace |
Tin Ingot | 4 Tin + 1 Charcoal | Furnace |
Magnetite is mined in the Moonlit Forest, particularly in the Glintortle boss zone north of Mural Valley. Primorite is found in Mural Valley. Both require the Impact Hammer to mine, which is purchasable from Zerine's General Store after reaching Junior Crafter rank. You will need to have progressed through the Bronze Gate in the Moonlit Forest to reach these mining locations.
Energy Converter Recipes
Once placed on your property, the Energy Converter produces three items, each serving a different tier of endgame progression:
Solid-State Battery
Material | Quantity |
|---|---|
Radiant Crystal | 1 |
Tin Ingot | 2 |
Iron Sheet | 1 |
Radiant Crystals are crafted at the Gear Smith from Radiant Cores. Solid-State Batteries are the entry-level power component, used in:
Item | Batteries Required | Other Key Materials |
|---|---|---|
Sprinkler I | 1 | Additional crafting materials |
Mega Feeder | 1 | Converts normal animal feed into Mega versions |
Waverider (vehicle) | 1 | 1 Skateboard + 5 Flamecore Ingot + 2 Spirit Cube II |
Mini Reactor
Material | Quantity |
|---|---|
Starflare Crystal | 1 |
Magnet | 2 |
High-Performance Wire Set | 2 |
Mini Reactors are the mid-tier power component, primarily used to upgrade your three core crafting stations to Tier III:
Upgrade | Mini Reactors Required | What It Unlocks |
|---|---|---|
Furnace II to Furnace III | 1 | Eternal Alloy smelting (Flamecore Ingot + Alloy + Coal) |
Cutter II to Cutter III | 1 | Meteor Plank crafting (Lunar Crystal + Premium Wood) |
Worktable II to Worktable III | 1 | Robot Terminal and Teleporter crafting |
Sprinkler II | 1 | Advanced farm automation with wider watering range |
You need three Mini Reactors minimum to upgrade all three stations, plus one more for Sprinkler II. Plan your material farming accordingly.
Perpetual Reactor
Material | Quantity |
|---|---|
Lunar Crystal | 1 |
Diamond | 2 |
High-Performance Wire Set | 2 |
Magnet | 2 |
Perpetual Reactors are the highest-tier power component, used exclusively for the most advanced endgame items:
Item | Reactors Required | Other Key Materials | Crafting Station |
|---|---|---|---|
Teleporter | 1 | 4 Eternal Alloy + 1 Spirit Cube III | Worktable III |
Robot Terminal | 2 | 5 Meteor Plank + 4 Eternal Alloy | Worktable III |
The Teleporter enables free fast travel between placed locations, superior to Bus Stops. The Robot Terminal enables autonomous resource gathering by deploying Mining, Logging, and Gathering Robots across the island and Moonlit Forest.
The Intermediate Crafter Trial
Building the Energy Converter is the central objective of the Intermediate Crafter certification quest:
Purchase the Energy Converter Blueprint from Zerine's General Store
Gather all required materials (requires access to Mural Valley and the Bronze Gate in the Moonlit Forest)
Craft the Energy Converter at your Worktable
Deliver the Energy Converter to Delphin at the AquaBlue Outpost
Return to Zerine at the General Store to receive your Intermediate Crafter Certificate
Completing this quest unlocks additional blueprints at Zerine's shop and opens the path to Senior and Expert Crafter tiers.
Endgame Crafting Chain
The Energy Converter sits at the center of the endgame crafting chain. Here is how the three power components flow into final products:
Component | Key End Products |
|---|---|
Solid-State Battery | Sprinkler I, Mega Feeder, Waverider |
Mini Reactor | Furnace III, Cutter III, Worktable III, Sprinkler II |
Perpetual Reactor | Teleporter, Robot Terminal |
Reaching the Teleporter and Robot Terminal requires a long chain of prerequisites: Impact Hammer for mining, Furnace II for intermediate smelting, the Energy Converter for power components, Mini Reactors for Tier III station upgrades, and finally Perpetual Reactors for the end products. Each step builds on the previous one, so start gathering rare ores early.
Tips
Place the Energy Converter permanently. You will use it repeatedly throughout the endgame. Place it next to your other crafting stations for convenience.
Stockpile Magnetite and Primorite. Both ores are consumed in large quantities across the Energy Converter recipe and its products. Farm them in bulk during Moonlit Forest trips.
Prioritize Mini Reactors first. Upgrading your Furnace, Cutter, and Worktable to Tier III unlocks the recipes needed for Perpetual Reactor end products.
Plan your Magnet supply. Magnets are needed for both the Energy Converter itself (3) and Mini Reactors (2 each). You will need at least 11 Magnets to build the converter and upgrade all three stations.
The Expert Crafter quest requires everything. The final Crafter certification asks you to craft a Robot Terminal, deploy a Mining Robot, and build a Teleporter. Budget your Perpetual Reactors accordingly: 1 for the Teleporter and 2 for the Robot Terminal (3 total).
