Linen is one of the base fabrics produced by the Loom in Starsand Island. It is woven from Hemp / Plant Fiber gathered on the surface island and feeds the Sewing Table for clothing recipes. Alongside Flannel, Leather, and Velvet, Linen is one of the four core Textile Crafting fabrics.

Where Linen Sits in the Textile Chain
Textile Crafting in Starsand Island runs through three stations. Linen specifically takes the Plant Fiber path through the Loom and skips the Spinning Wheel entirely.
Stage | Station | Input | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
1 | Carbon Line, Hemp Rope, Fishing Line, Thread | ||
2 | Linen, Flannel, Leather, Velvet, colored fabrics | ||
3 | Fabric + dye + patterns | Finished clothing items |
Where to Gather Plant Fiber
Bushes and tall grass. Cut bushes and tall grass anywhere on the surface island. Hopeland, Green Meadow, and the paths around Starsand Town all yield Fiber.
Buy from Zerine. Fiber is sold at the General Store for 5 Coins each with unlimited stock. Buying is often faster than gathering when running multiple Loom batches.
Major Uses
Clothing recipes. Linen is the staple base fabric for many tops, bottoms, dresses, and accessories at the Sewing Table. See Clothing and Outfits for the full pattern list.
Pet outfits. Several Pet Outfits recipes call for Linen as the base fabric.
Furniture upholstery. Some Lex Woodworks furniture blueprints use Linen alongside Hardwood Plank for upholstered seating.
Decoration and building. Linen appears in select Building Materials recipes for soft furnishings.
Tips
Linen is the fastest fabric to start with. Plant Fiber is abundant and Linen has no animal-product dependency. You can produce Linen on day one once you build the Loom.
Stockpile before sewing sessions. The Sewing Table works through fabric quickly. Run two or three Loom batches before starting a clothing run.
Use Linen for early clothing while Velvet sheep mature. Velvet requires sheep wool from Snowool or Ebowool, which take time to mature. Linen carries you through the early game.
