Overview
Blueprints unlock craftable furniture, tools, weapons, processing stations, and decorative items. Once learned, a blueprint is permanently added to your Islandpedia, showing which crafting station and materials are needed. Cooking instructions are called "recipes" and clothing schematics are called "patterns", these work the same way but are tracked separately.
How to unlock blueprints
There are six primary ways to obtain blueprints:
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Tutorial | Core blueprints (Axe, Bug Net, Campfire, Stone Hoe, Stone Pickaxe, Wooden Rod, Wooden Watering Can, Worktable I) unlock after completing the tutorial. |
Shops | The most important source. Blueprints are purchased with coins from vendor NPCs. Many are gated behind profession certification levels. |
Quests | Some blueprints are quest rewards, often tied to profession advancement (e.g., Trellis from the Apprentice Farmer chain, Golden Slingshot from Momo's Gift quest). |
Treasure chests | Scattered around the island and in the Moonlit Forest. Some blueprints can only be found in chests. See the treasure chest guide. |
Enemy drops | Some blueprints drop from creatures after defeating them (e.g., Geocalligraphy Brush, Broom, Moonlight Glow Stick). |
Daily letters | Bug Bait, Meat Bait, Veggie Bait, Rabbit Feed, and Ripening Fertilizer I blueprints arrive via mail. |
Profession certification tiers
Many shop blueprints are locked behind profession tiers. You advance by completing proficiency quests from your mentor:
Apprentice starting tier
Junior
Intermediate
Senior
Expert highest tier
These apply to all five professions: Farming, Crafting, Ranching, Exploring, and Angling.
Special chest types
Component | Requirement |
|---|---|
Standard chests | Found around the island, containing resources, consumables, and sometimes blueprints. |
Treasure Map chests | Follow a golden arrow from a treasure map to a dig spot. |
Parkour chests | Golden lights appear on rails, fences, and walls. Jump onto the light and follow it without touching the ground to spawn a chest. |
Flawed chests | Special chests that require processing before they can be opened. |
