Mural Valley
Mural Valley is a deep zone in the Moonlit Forest known for its ancient wall murals and the Glintortle boss encounter. It is reached after passing through Azure Bay and marks the transition point where combat requirements increase significantly. The Glintortle boss requires a Bow with Bomb Arrows, which is a step up from the slingshot used in earlier zones.
Location
Mural Valley sits after Azure Bay in the Moonlit Forest's linear progression. It connects to Harvest Yard and the later zones leading toward the Darkwater Shore and eventually the Ruins where the Ruin Guard awaits.
The Glintortle Boss Fight
The Glintortle is a turtle-like boss with heavy armor plating. Unlike the Runebird and Luminfrog, slingshot pellets are insufficient against the Glintortle. Players need a Bow with Bomb Arrows to deal meaningful damage.
Detail | Information |
|---|---|
Boss Type | Armored turtle creature |
Required Weapon | Bow with Bomb Arrows |
Key Strategy | Target the shell gaps during vulnerability windows |
Healing | Bring combat food from the Exploration Club |
Preparation | Craft Bomb Arrows before entering Mural Valley |
Bomb Arrows are crafted at a Workbench and require explosive materials gathered from the Moonlit Forest. Stock up before the fight, as the Glintortle requires sustained damage output over multiple vulnerability phases.
Ancient Murals
The walls of Mural Valley feature ancient murals that tell a visual story about the Moonlit Forest's history. These murals depict scenes from a past civilization that once inhabited the underground world. While primarily decorative, the murals add lore context to the Moonlit Forest and hint at the origins of the Ruin Guard and other forest creatures.
Resources
Diamond Ore: the highest-tier ore in the Moonlit Forest, found in limited quantities in Mural Valley
Gold Ore: continues to appear in deposits along the valley walls
Fluorite: for campsite repairs
Rare mushroom varieties: including Moondew Shroom and Sunveil Shroom
Campsite
A campsite in Mural Valley can be repaired for 5 Fluorite. Given the increasing difficulty of enemies beyond this point, repairing the campsite is strongly recommended.
Progression
After the Glintortle, the path continues through Harvest Yard, Grain Haven, Darkwater Shore, Serenity's Rest, Moonlight Meadow, and finally the Ruins where the Ruin Guard final boss resides. Each zone deepens the challenge and introduces new environmental puzzles alongside combat encounters.
Tips
Craft Bomb Arrows before entering Mural Valley. You will not be able to damage the Glintortle without them.
Mine Diamond Ore whenever you find it. Diamond is the rarest ore in the Moonlit Forest and is used in the highest-tier crafting recipes.
Study the wall murals for lore clues about the Moonlit Forest's backstory and the origin of the Ruin Guard.
Gale Arrows are also useful for the Glintortle fight if you run out of Bomb Arrows. Craft a mix of both arrow types.
This is a good point to return to the surface, sell resources, and restock supplies before pushing deeper into the Moonlit Forest.
