Half-Moon Bay

Overview

Half-Moon Bay is Starsand Island's coastal area and the hub for all fishing and ocean-related activities. The bay is home to the AquaBlue Outpost fishing shop, Starsand Port, the Merchant Ship, and various beach attractions. It also hosts the annual Beach Festival in Summer. The curved coastline is the only place on the island where Glowing Shells can be found, a special collectible used to purchase exclusive blueprints.

Glowing Shells

Glowing Shells are a collectible resource that spawns exclusively along the Half-Moon Bay coastline. They emit a faint glow and can be spotted on the sand, particularly in the evening and at night. Glowing Shells serve as a special currency at Lex Woodworks, where they can be traded for exclusive furniture blueprints and decorative items not available anywhere else. The shells respawn periodically, so check the beach regularly. They are distinct from regular shells and cannot be sold through normal channels.

AquaBlue Outpost

Owner: Delphin (Fishing Mentor)

Located on the docks on the right side of Half-Moon Bay. Open 08:00 to 22:00. This is where your fishing journey begins. Delphin grants the Apprentice Angler certification and your first basic fishing rod here.

Starsand Port

Key NPC: Marston (dock manager and lifeguard)

The port is initially run-down and must be rebuilt before it becomes operational.

Unlocking the Port

Meet Marston at the run-down port site.
Donate 15 Stone and 15 Softwood to begin repairs.
The port opens the next day after donating materials.

Port Services

Service	Details
Yacht Rental	150 coins per hour. Gives you direct boat control for open-ocean fishing. Steer freely and cast your line anywhere in the open water.
Parrot Ship	Fast travel service to three special deep-sea fishing zones (Coral Sea, Luminwave, Celestwave).
Speedboat Rental	Available at the end of the pier. A faster alternative to the yacht for getting around the bay quickly.
Merchant Ship	Buy rare items and sell goods at 200% value (double normal price). Available one week at a time; stock refreshes every Monday. Accepts limited quantities per item.

Deep-Sea Fishing Zones

Three special ocean fishing zones are accessible via the Parrot Ship at Starsand Port. Each zone has unique high-value fish species tracked in the Islandpedia's Bio Research category:

Celestwave is only accessible at night, making it the most exclusive fishing zone. Bring high-quality bait and an upgraded fishing rod before attempting endgame zones.

G-Power Bike

Neona's vehicle shop is located on the main road near Half-Moon Bay. Sells finished vehicles, blueprints, rentals, and customization services. This is the primary place to buy or rent scooters, bikes, and other motorized transport.

Beach Festival (Summer 27)

Half-Moon Bay hosts the annual Beach Festival, one of the island's major seasonal events.

Preparation (Summer 25 to 26)

During the two days before the festival, five NPCs need your help gathering resources for their festival stalls. Assisting each NPC rewards 200 coins, 15 Starsand, 50 Beach Coins, and 20 Affection with that character.

You also need to clean up trash piles scattered across the beach. Each cleanup spot is marked on the map during the preparation phase.

Festival Day Schedule (Summer 27)

12:00 PM	Market opens: Buy exclusive items with Beach Coins at festival stalls
7:00 PM	Bonfire Party: Stella and Sylvain perform live music. The player can join by playing guitar
Midnight	Concluding cutscene. Players pass out at 2:00 AM if they do not return home, resulting in reduced stamina the next day

Aurelis on the Boardwalk

Aurelis regularly visits the Half-Moon Bay boardwalk during mornings and evenings. This is a good place to find and interact with him outside of the Aureleaf Kitchen. His schedule places him on the boardwalk roughly from 7:00 to 9:00 AM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on most days.

Several treasure chests are hidden around Half-Moon Bay:

On the pier near Starsand Port (accessible after port reconstruction)
Near a circular beach stall on the sand
Delphin's bedroom chest (requires 3+ hearts)
Neona's bedroom chest at G-Power Bike (requires 3+ hearts)
Marston's bedroom chest (requires 3+ hearts)

NPC bedroom chests only become accessible once you reach 3 hearts of friendship with that character. The chests contain unique rewards specific to each NPC.

Fast Travel

Two bus stations serve the Half-Moon Bay area: the Half-Moon Bay Station near the main beach and the AquaBlue Outpost Station near the docks. Both connect to the island-wide fast travel bus network. Having two stations in one region makes this the most accessible coastal area on the island.
