Overview
Certain cooked meals in Starsand Island grant temporary buffs that boost specific activities like farming, fishing, mining, and combat. Not every recipe provides a buff; most meals only restore stamina or HP. The buff foods are the ones worth planning around, since they can dramatically speed up your daily routine or give you an edge in the Moonlit Forest.
Buffs activate immediately when you eat the food and last for the remainder of that in-game day or until you eat a different buff food. Only one buff can be active at a time. Eating a new buff food replaces whatever buff you currently have.

Buff Strategy by Activity
Farming Days
On days dedicated to farming, eat Fried Egg first thing in the morning for Watering Mastery. If you are expanding new fields, switch to Veggie Noodles for Field Prep Mastery to cover more ground while tilling. If you are trying to farm Immortal seeds, eat Mirthshroom Soup before harvesting. The Creamy Seeds buff gives roughly a 5% chance per harvest to drop an Everlasting seed, based on player testing.
Fishing Sessions
Eat Steamed Fish before any fishing session. The Never Skunked buff eliminates the waiting period entirely, so fish bite immediately after you cast. This speeds up fishing dramatically and pairs well with the Fishing profession quests that require catching specific quantities. If you are fishing for treasure instead of specific fish, Underwater Treasure is the better choice since it gives bonus chest drops.
Moonlit Forest Runs
For resource gathering runs, eat Soup Dumplings for Forest's Gift. The ammo recovery chance means you use fewer arrows overall, and the increased foraging drops make each trip more productive. For boss fights, switch to Chicken Stewed With Mushrooms for Battle Spirit. The damage boost shortens fights with Crystalith, Glintortle, and the Ruin Guard.
Mining and Woodcutting
Green Grape Juice (Bonus Ore) and Red Grape Juice (Bonus Timber) are the easiest farmable buff foods. Grow grapes on trellises and juice them at the Juicer. Both grapes grow across multiple seasons, so you can maintain a steady supply. Use Bonus Ore before mining runs in the Moonlit Forest and Bonus Timber before chopping trees on the island surface.
Town Scavenging
The Scavenger buff from Seaweed Egg Drop Soup guarantees loot from every trash can you check. Pair this with an efficient route through Starsand Town, hitting all the trash cans in a single pass. This is one of the most consistent early-game money strategies before your farm is fully established.
Nutrient Absorption Skill
The Nutrient Absorption skill in the Workpedia increases the energy and HP restored by all food. This does not directly affect buff strength, but it means each buff meal also restores more stamina, reducing the need to eat non-buff food during the day. Unlock this skill early to get more value from every meal.
Tips
Cook buff foods in batches. Since cooking takes real in-game time, prepare 5 to 10 servings of your most-used buff foods and keep them in a chest near your kitchen.
Buy all recipes from Aureleaf Kitchen as soon as you can afford them. Several buff recipes are only available from the shop register.
Mirthshrooms are free to pick up in the Moonlit Forest with no stamina cost. Grab them every trip even if you do not need the Creamy Seeds buff immediately.
The Separator is the bottleneck for most buff recipes. Keep it stocked with Wheat (for Flour) and vegetables (for Vegetable Juice) at all times.
You can check which buff is currently active by looking at the icon next to your stamina bar in the top-left corner of the screen.
Eating any non-buff food does not remove your current buff. Only eating a different buff food replaces it.
