Characters overview
Starsand Island has 15 romanceable characters, all of whom can be romanced regardless of the player's chosen gender. Five serve as profession mentors who teach you gameplay systems and certify your rank advancement at the Community Center. The other ten run shops, restaurants, and services around the island. Characters have different names across the Chinese, Japanese, and English versions of the game.
Profession mentors
Zerine - Crafter Mentor
Runs the General Store. Shy and timid but deeply skilled at making things. Gives you your first skateboard when you become an Apprentice Crafter. The General Store is one of the first shops you'll visit, selling basic tools and materials.

Graminova - Farmer Mentor
Runs the Happiness Seed Shop. Holds a PhD in botanical studies. Calm, quiet, and extremely serious about plants. Teaches you everything about farming, from seasonal crops to giant crop mechanics.
Delphin - Angler Mentor
Found at the AquaBlue Outpost. Your childhood friend, a surfer who's fiercely loyal and passionate about the ocean. Teaches you fishing across 105+ species. Loved gift: Light Blue Hydrangea.
Note: Delphin was referred to as "Francis" in some pre-release materials. The finalized English name is Delphin.
Pastelle - Rancher Mentor
Runs the Green Pasture Ranch northwest of your house. Shy around people, gentle and sensitive with animals. Teaches you livestock care, breeding, and product collection.
Zephyria - Explorer Mentor
Found at the Exploration Club near the archery targets. Has androgynous charm and a love of archery. Provides your first Slingshot blueprint and guides you through the Moonlit Forest. Loved gift: Moonflower.
Other residents
Solara
Your childhood best friend and the mayor's granddaughter. Bubbly, cheerful, full of energy. Runs the Community Center where you certify profession levels. She's the first person you meet when returning to the island and serves as your primary guide.
Aurelis
Chef at the Aureleaf Kitchen. Meticulous, blunt, and obsessed with ancient recipes. Knows customers by name. His restaurant sells cooked food and recipe ingredients.
Alex
Runs Lex Woodworks, the furniture store. Loves animals and has a guarded personality. Sells furniture, decoration items, and building materials for your home.
Loren
Runs the Chrono Arcade. Cheerful, easy-going, and an avid gamer. He moved to Starsand Island to find clean air for his sick sister, Momo. The arcade features minigames including a Tetris-like game. One of the few characters who doesn't love Moonflowers as a gift.

Lunelle
Owns Ethereal Styles, the clothing shop. Comes from a wealthy background but is modest and compassionate. Sells outfits, hats, accessories, and seasonal clothing.
Neona
Runs G-Power Bike, the vehicle shop. Former motorcycle club leader. Confident, direct, and glamorous. Handles vehicle sales, rentals, and customization.
Serena
Cosmetologist at Bloom Atelier, the island's salon. Handles hairdressing and styling. Sweet and enthusiastic about beauty and personal expression.
Stella
Runs Woof & Wow Pets, the pet shop. An aspiring idol with rockstar energy. Sells pet food, accessories, and handles pet adoption.
Sylvain
Owns Silvan Notes, the music shop. Sells instruments and music-related items. Loved gift: Blue Hydrangea.
Youfang
Fortune teller based at Barston Heights. Frequently away from town, making him one of the harder characters to find consistently. Youfang is the only character whose name stays the same across all language versions (Chinese, Japanese, English). He is fully romanceable like all other characters.

Two special collaboration characters from My Time at Portia arrive on the island as special neighbors:
Ginger: Voiced by Ariel Marie Highwind. Has her own storyline with 4 hearts of affection levels
Gust: Voiced by DJ Horn. Has his own storyline with 4 hearts of affection levels
The My Time at Portia collaboration was announced in October 2025. Ginger and Gust are not romanceable in the traditional 5-heart system but have their own affection progression.
