Accessories
Accessories are wearable items in Starsand Island that sit outside the standard top and bottom clothing slots. They include hats, headpieces, and other decorative wearables that let you add extra flair to your outfit. Accessories are managed through the Wardrobe app on your phone, just like regular clothing.
How Accessories Work
The accessory system was redesigned for the Early Access launch based on player feedback from the demo. The biggest change: hats now function as completely independent wearables. In the demo, hats were locked to specific hairstyles, meaning you had to pick a hairstyle that came with a hat if you wanted headwear. Now, any hat can be worn on top of any hairstyle. This seemingly small change opened up hundreds of additional look combinations.
Accessories occupy their own equipment slot in the Wardrobe app, separate from Hats, Tops, Bottoms, and Full Sets. You can equip one hat and additional accessories alongside any outfit combination. Removing an accessory is as simple as unequipping it through the Wardrobe app.
Types of Accessories
Accessories fall into two main categories in the Wardrobe app:
Hats and Headwear
Hats are the most prominent accessory category. They range from practical farming hats to decorative headpieces for special occasions. Some confirmed hat types include:
Straw Hat: A classic farming hat. Can be crafted at the Sewing Table using basic materials.
Turban: Craftable headwear made at the Sewing Table.
Caps and Beanies: Casual headwear available from Ethereal Styles.
Headbands: Lighter headwear options that sit across the forehead.
Decorative Headpieces: Ornate headwear from quests, DLC packs, and seasonal events. Includes pieces from the Chinese New Year and Classic European DLC sets.
Because hats are independent from hairstyles, you can freely experiment with combinations. Swap your hat without affecting your hair, and change hairstyles without losing your hat.
Decorative Accessories
Beyond hats, the Wardrobe app includes a dedicated accessories slot for additional decorative items. These pieces complement your outfit without replacing any clothing slot. Accessories are acquired through the same channels as clothing: purchased from Lunelle's Ethereal Styles, crafted at the Sewing Table, earned from quests, or unlocked through seasonal events and DLC packs.

Accessories and the Makeup App
The Makeup app handles a different set of cosmetic options that overlap with accessories in some ways. Through the Makeup app you can change:
Hairstyle and hair color (full color wheel with saturation and brightness controls)
Eyebrow shape
Eyelash style
Eyeliner and lip color
Face paint and other facial details
Eye color and skin tone
The game offers over 100 facial design options across these categories. The Makeup app unlocks at the same time as the Wardrobe app, after completing the Apprentice Rancher quest and delivering Rabbit Fluff to Lunelle. Both apps are accessible through your phone for on-the-go changes. For hairstyle changes, you can also visit Serena at the Bloom Atelier in Starsand Town.
Tips
Experiment with hat and hair combos. Since hats are fully independent from hairstyles, try combinations you would not normally consider. Some unexpected pairings look great.
Check Ethereal Styles regularly. The shop rotates its accessory stock, and limited-time pieces can disappear. Visit Lunelle frequently so you do not miss anything.
Craft basic accessories early. The Straw Hat and Turban can be crafted at the Sewing Table with minimal materials. They are solid early-game headwear options while you save up for fancier shop pieces.
Use outfit presets with accessories. The Wardrobe app saves accessories as part of outfit presets. Set up a farming preset with a Straw Hat and a town preset with something more stylish.
Color coordinate. Accessories from the dye system crafting pipeline match the colored fabric palette. Coordinate your accessories with your outfit for a cohesive look.
