Overview
Bastrom Heights (also spelled Barston Heights in some guides) is a mountainous, elevated area located north of Starsand Town on the right side of Starsand Island. The area sits atop cliffs that rise sharply above the surrounding terrain, with winding mountain roads lined with blue hydrangeas that serve as a natural trail guide to the summit. At the top, multiple temples and pavilions create a spiritual atmosphere that sets the area apart from the rest of the island.
Bastrom Heights is the home of Youfang, the island's fortune teller and monk, who lives in the main temple. The area has no shops, but it contains several treasure chests, scenic overlooks, and a secret pavilion that rewards adventurous players.
Geography
The terrain at Bastrom Heights is mountainous and difficult to traverse. Mountain roads snake upward from the base, lined with blue hydrangeas that bloom during Summer and Autumn. Following these flowers is the easiest way to navigate to the summit. The area contains multiple tiers of elevation, from the base cliffs up through the temple district to the highest peak.

How to get there
Bastrom Heights is located north of Starsand Town, accessible by following the mountain roads uphill. Look for the blue hydrangeas lining the path. They mark the route to the summit. There is no dedicated bus stop at Bastrom Heights, so you will need to walk or ride a vehicle from the nearest fast travel point in Starsand Town. The area neighbors Cloudrest Lake to the north.
Youfang: the Fortune Teller
Youfang is the sole resident of Bastrom Heights. He is a young monk and fortune teller who was sent to Starsand Island by his master to grow his spiritual ability and safeguard the island's spiritual line. He lives in the main large temple and offers fortune telling services to visitors.
Because Bastrom Heights is so far from town, Youfang is one of the hardest characters to visit regularly. Use the phone's Social app to track his location. He occasionally wanders from his temple. He is one of 15 romanceable characters, and his romance arc is described as one of the most unconventional on the island.

Bastrom Heights contains approximately 7 treasure chests, making it one of the richest areas for chest hunting on the island.

Secret pavilion
North of the main Bastrom Heights area, there is a secret pavilion that contains treasure chest #26. To reach it:
Climb to the highest temple at the peak of Bastrom Heights.
Face north and look for a pavilion visible below on the right side.
Jump off the mountain, aiming for the pavilion.
If you jump from the wrong spot, you will have a long walk back up the mountain. Take your time lining up the jump before committing.
Hydrangeas
Hydrangeas grow along the mountain roads of Bastrom Heights and can be harvested during Summer and Autumn using an Axe.
Harvestable colors: Blue Hydrangea and Light Blue Hydrangea, both can be picked from bushes growing along the mountain paths.
NPC gift-only colors: Pink Hydrangea and Purple Hydrangea cannot be found in the wild. They are only available as gifts from NPCs.
Hydrangeas also grow at three other locations on the island: the Moonlit Forest, Cloudrest Lake, and the Flower Corridor near the Exploration Club.

Youfang is involved in the Senior Exploration Trial quest, where he asks the player to gather Echo Beans and Eldergrains near the Harvest Yard entrance, then repair the Waterwheel elevator mechanism to reach Grain Haven and the areas beyond.
