Overview
Lex Woodworks is the furniture and woodworking shop in Starsand Town, owned and operated by Alex. The shop specializes in furniture blueprints, finished furniture pieces, decorations, and a Glowing Shell exchange section. For players focused on the building and home decoration side of the game, Lex Woodworks is one of the most important shops on the island. The name "Lex" derives from Alex's name.

The shop is located near Zerine's General Store. From the General Store, face the town square, then turn right down the road. Lex Woodworks is on the left. The outdoor area nearby features an open-air theater and wisteria-covered walkways.
Furniture Sets
Lex Woodworks stocks several themed furniture sets, each containing multiple matching pieces. Stock rotates, with some items changing each season.

In addition to full sets, the shop sells individual furniture blueprints for chairs, tables, shelves, beds, and other home furnishings. Blueprints are crafted at your workbench using wood, stone, metal, and other resources. The shop's selection expands as you progress through the game, reach higher Island Life ranks, and build friendship with Alex.
Glowing Shell Exchange
A dedicated section of the shop accepts Glowing Shells as currency instead of coins. Glowing Shells are collectible items found on beaches and in the ocean. The exchange offers unique decorative items and furniture pieces not available through the standard coin inventory. This gives beachcombers and ocean explorers a way to turn their shell collections into exclusive home decorations.
About Alex
Alex is a female carpenter and one of the 15 romanceable characters in Starsand Island. She grew up on Continent F under difficult circumstances. After her parents divorced, both remarried and treated young Alex as a burden. She was raised by her grandmother, who encouraged her to observe neighbors doing woodworking. Alex developed her carpentry skills at a young age through this hands-on learning.
When her grandmother passed away around Alex's eighteenth birthday, she became a drifter, moving from place to place with no real home. She eventually discovered Starsand Island and settled there about two years before the player arrives, establishing Lex Woodworks as her livelihood.
Alex comes across as cold, quiet, and guarded around strangers, but she is genuinely kind underneath that stony exterior. She has a deep love for animals and is personally responsible for every handmade birdhouse and cat cabin scattered across the island. She built them all to provide shelter for the island's wildlife.

Alex does not spend her entire day behind the counter. If you need to find her outside of shop hours, use the Phone's Social app. Select "Locate" to see her position with a mapped route, or "Follow" to track her movements in real time.

Alex's birthday is Month 2, Day 13. Giving a gift on her birthday provides bonus affection. Her preferences lean toward wood-related materials, flowers, and savory foods. She does not care for sweet things or raw ores.

Friendship and Romance
Alex uses the standard five-heart affection system shared by all romanceable characters. Romance is available regardless of the player's chosen avatar gender.

Ways to earn affection points include daily conversation (5 points), giving a liked gift (10 points), giving a loved or favorite gift (15 points), and completing requests. As of Early Access, the romance system is still under development with no heart events or marriage implemented yet. The NPC Dating System is planned for April 2026.
Planned Updates
According to the official Update History roadmap, Lex Woodworks is scheduled to receive Rednote collaboration items in March 2026. These are expected to be in-game purchasable items rather than paid DLC.
