Starsand Island features voice acting in three languages: English, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). Voice acting covers the 15 romanceable characters in their friendship events, romance scenes, profession quest dialogue, tutorial sequences, festival events, and cohabitation scenes. Regular daily NPC conversations are primarily text-based rather than fully voiced. The game launched in Early Access with voice lines for the 15 romanceable characters plus supporting NPCs, and additional voice content is planned for the full release.
The voice language can be changed independently from the text language in the settings menu. You can play with Japanese voice acting and English subtitles, for example, or any other combination of the three supported audio languages. This setting was initially locked to match the text language at Early Access launch but was patched to allow independent selection after player feedback.

The Japanese cast was officially announced alongside the Early Access launch. Several well-known voice actors (seiyuu) are featured. Characters have different names in the Japanese localization.

Ginger | Ariel Marie Highwind | My Time at Portia |
The game supports full Chinese voice acting in both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Characters have Chinese names in this localization. The specific Chinese voice actor credits have not been published in English-language sources. The in-game credits include the full Chinese cast.
Voice acting covers several categories of dialogue and scenes:
Friendship and romance event scenes (heart events)
Profession quest dialogue with mentors
Tutorial and story sequences
Festival event dialogue
Cohabitation scenes (Heart Level 5)
Short NPC greetings and reaction lines
Extended daily conversations with NPCs are primarily text-based. The game is still in Early Access, and the developers have indicated that additional voice content will be added as new story events, NPCs, and features are introduced in future updates.
Reception of the voice acting has been mixed. The Japanese voice cast has been well received, with players praising the high-profile seiyuu lineup. PC Gamer noted that early cutscenes are "quite primo with voice acting and all." Some Steam reviewers have been more critical of the English voice acting, citing a lack of vocal distinction between certain characters and flat delivery in places. The developers have acknowledged the feedback and indicated improvements are planned for the full release.
