Overview
The Train Station (officially called Starsand Station) is a key location in Starsand Island that connects the island to the broader world. It serves two major purposes: it acts as the central hub for the island's fast travel bus stop network, and it is the arrival point for crossover characters from the My Time series, specifically My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock.
The station does not function when you first arrive on the island. It must be rebuilt through a questline given by Solara, the island's community leader. Completing the station construction is a significant milestone that opens up both fast travel and new character interactions.
For a detailed step-by-step walkthrough of the building quest, see the Starsand Station article, which covers materials, NPC interactions, and each construction phase in full.
Location
Starsand Station is located in the central area of the island, near the Community Center. Its central position makes it a natural hub for travel once the bus stop network is activated. After rebuilding, you can teleport to the station from any repaired bus stop for a small gold fee.
Rebuilding the Station
Rebuilding Starsand Station is an Island Life main quest. The prerequisites and general process are as follows.
Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
Island Life Rank | Island Pro |
Prerequisite Quest | Complete Starsand Port Construction for Marston |
Quest Giver | |
Key NPCs | |
Main Reward | Unlocks fast travel via bus stop network and crossover character arrivals |
The quest involves gathering construction materials, cooking meals for the construction crew, and completing several build phases. Yang, the Railway Worker, oversees the physical construction and tells you what supplies are needed at each stage.
Fast Travel Network
Once Starsand Station is rebuilt, it becomes the central node of the island's bus stop fast travel system. There are 10 fixed bus stop locations spread across the island. Each bus stop must be individually repaired before it becomes usable, but once active, you can teleport between any two repaired stops for a small gold fee.
The fast travel system saves significant time, especially when traveling between distant locations like the mine, the beach, and your homestead. Repairing all bus stops should be a priority after completing the station.
Crossover Character Arrivals
The Train Station is where crossover characters from Pathea Games' My Time series arrive on the island. These characters visit from their respective home towns and become available to interact with once they arrive. Rebuilding the station is a prerequisite for any crossover characters to appear.
Ginger and Gust (My Time at Portia)
Ginger and Gust are a married couple from Portia. Ginger is known for her gentle personality and fragile health, while Gust is a talented architect.

How to Greet | Visit the Train Station on Summer 23 to meet them |
When Ginger and Gust arrive, Solara sends you a letter via the in-game mail system. Make sure to check your mail and visit the station on Summer 23 to greet them. After the initial meeting, they settle on the island and become available for regular interaction.
Fang and Nia (My Time at Sandrock)
Fang and Nia are characters from Sandrock. Fang is a skilled fighter, and Nia is a researcher and scholar.

Origin | My Time at Sandrock |
Arrival Date | Autumn 1 |

How to Greet | Go to the Train Station on Autumn 1 to find them |
Unlike Ginger and Gust, Fang and Nia arrive without any notification. There is no mail, no quest marker, and no NPC dialogue hint. You simply need to remember to visit the Train Station on Autumn 1 to meet them. If you do not visit on that day, they will still be at the station when you eventually go, but it is best to greet them early so they integrate into the island community sooner.

Known Issues and Tips
Do not miss Ginger and Gust's arrival. Some players have reported issues if they ignore the mail notification and wait too long. Check your mail regularly during Summer and visit the station on Summer 23.
Mark Autumn 1 on your calendar. Fang and Nia have no notification at all. Set a mental reminder or use the in-game calendar to remember to visit the station when Autumn begins.
Complete the station early. The station quest becomes available relatively early in the Island Pro phase. Finishing it before Summer 23 ensures you do not miss the first crossover arrival window.
Repair bus stops after building the station. The fast travel network is one of the biggest quality-of-life improvements in the game. Invest gold and materials into repairing all 10 bus stops as soon as you can.
Crossover characters have unique dialogue. Talk to Ginger, Gust, Fang, and Nia regularly. They reference their home towns and may offer unique gifts or interactions not available from other NPCs.
