Overview
AquaBlue Outpost is the island's fishing shop, run by Delphin, the Angler profession mentor. Located on the right side of the docks at Half-Moon Bay, the building has an elevator leading down to an ocean observatory. The shop is open 8 AM to 10 PM daily.
The Outpost stocks all Angler blueprints in the game, from basic rod upgrades to aquariums and fish ponds. Like other profession shops, inventory is gated by your Angler certification tier. Delphin also acts as the Angler mentor, assigning trial quests that advance your certification and unlock deeper fishing areas.
Fishing Rod Progression
Rods unlock as you advance your Angler profession rank. Better rods reduce tension buildup during the fishing minigame, making it far easier to land rare and high-value fish. Each rod is a blueprint that must be crafted at a workbench after purchase.
Rod | Tier | Key Materials | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Wooden Rod | Starter | Free from Delphin | Given when you begin the Angler profession |
Chrono Rod | Apprentice | Copper | First upgrade; noticeable tension reduction |
Silent Rod | Junior | Quieter casting; less likely to scare fish | |
Cloud Rod | Junior | Mid-tier materials | Balanced rod for general fishing |
Noble Rod | Junior | Prism, Iron Sheets | Strong upgrade for intermediate fishing |
Solar Rod | Intermediate | Advanced materials | Endgame-quality rod; tension bar barely moves |
Titanium Rod | Senior | Titanium materials | Top-tier rod for the hardest catches |
Astra Rod | Senior | Rare materials | Alternative to Titanium with different handling |

Bait System
Bait is crafted using the Chopper station (blueprint sold at this shop). Different fish species prefer different bait types, and using the correct bait significantly increases your catch rate for target species.
Bait Type | Made From | Attracts |
|---|---|---|
Meat Bait | Meat resources (raw meat, poultry) | Carnivorous fish (sharks, tuna, predatory species) |
Veggie Bait | Vegetable resources (crops, foraged plants) | Herbivorous fish (common freshwater and coastal species) |
Bug Bait | Insect resources (caught with Bug Net) | Picky species that only respond to insect bait |
Omni (no bait) | N/A | Fish with no bait preference (use no bait or any type) |
You can catch bugs using the Bug Net to supply Bug Bait ingredients. Crafting bait at home is far cheaper than buying it, so prioritize the Chopper I blueprint early.
Aquariums and Fish Ponds
Aquariums
Aquariums are decorative display tanks that showcase your caught fish. They come in five sizes (XS through XL), unlocking progressively through Angler tiers. The Aquarium inside the AquaBlue Outpost (on the lower observatory level) is a community exhibit. To advance to Senior Angler, you must fill this aquarium with 20 different fish species. Contributing fish to the community aquarium is separate from placing fish in your personal tanks at home.
Tier Required | |

Cube Aquarium XS | Apprentice |
Cube Aquarium S | Junior |
Cube Aquarium M | Intermediate |
Cube Aquarium L | Senior |
Cube Aquarium XL | Expert |

Fish Ponds
Fish Ponds let you raise fish on your farm. Place caught fish into a pond and they will produce additional fish over time, creating a passive income stream. Ponds unlock at Junior Angler and get bigger at Intermediate tier.
Pond | Tier Required |
|---|---|
Small Fish Pond | Junior |
Stone Fish Pond | Junior |
Medium Fish Pond | Intermediate |
Fish Traps
Fish Traps are unlocked at Intermediate Angler. Place them in any body of water and check back later to collect whatever fish they caught. This is completely passive, requiring no stamina or minigame interaction. Traps provide steady daily income once deployed. See Fish Traps for optimal placement locations.
Deep-Sea Fishing Access
The docks at Half-Moon Bay are also the gateway to deep-sea fishing zones. After completing the Starsand Port Construction quest (requires 15 Stone and 15 Softwood, given by Marston), you unlock access to three premium offshore zones:
Coral Sea: Shallow reef fishing with tropical species
Luminwave: Mid-depth zone; home to high-value Tuna and Mola Mola (Sunfish)
Celestwave: The deepest zone; rare nocturnal species like Ribbon Eel
You can rent yachts for 150 Coins per hour or use the Parrot Ship for fast travel between zones.
Ocean Observatory
Below the shop floor, accessible via elevator, is an ocean observatory with panoramic underwater views. This is a two-generation, 30-year project built by Delphin's family. The community Aquarium is housed here, and filling it with 20 fish species is required for the Senior Angler certification. The observatory is worth visiting early on for the lore and atmosphere.
Delphin
Delphin is your childhood friend, the Angler profession mentor, and the owner of AquaBlue Outpost. Born into a noble family on the X Continent, he experienced family turmoil after his mother's death and his father's remarriage. At age 10 he relocated to Starsand Island with his aunt, a surfing instructor. He won his first surfing competition at 12, earned a magazine cover at 15, and maintained an undefeated competition record until age 24, when he mostly retired from competing.

Delphin is wild, rebellious, and does not like following rules. He prefers the quiet of the ocean and starts his days at dawn along the beach. When you first arrived on the island, you encouraged and helped him; before you left, you were his only friend. He can often be found outside lifting weights or inside at the observatory. His residence is directly across from the store, accessible at 3+ hearts of affection.
Note: Delphin was referred to as "Francis" in some pre-release materials and early guides. The finalized English name is Delphin.

Angler Profession Overview
The Angler profession is one of five professions in Starsand Island. It focuses on catching fish, upgrading rods, and filling aquariums. See Angler Trial Walkthroughs for detailed step-by-step guides for each tier. Fishing is one of the best early income sources: fish sell at any shop in the game, and even raw fish fetch solid prices without cooking.
Each cast costs 10 Energy. The fishing minigame involves aiming your cast, waiting for a bite, then managing line tension. The line indicator turns white (safe to reel) or red (stop reeling or the line snaps). Better rods reduce how quickly the tension bar fills, making rare catches significantly easier.
Tips
Get the free Novice Rod immediately. Fishing is one of the best early income sources.
The Chopper I station blueprint is the highest-priority purchase. Crafting bait at home is drastically cheaper than buying it.
Fish Traps provide passive income once placed. Check them daily for free catches.
Fill the community Aquarium (20 species) as early as possible to unlock the Senior Angler tier.
Complete the Starsand Port Construction quest to access deep-sea zones with the most valuable fish.
Upgrade rods as soon as new tiers unlock. The tension reduction on better rods makes a massive difference for rare fish.
The ocean observatory below the shop is worth visiting for the view and lore.
