Overview
Challenges in Crimson Desert are optional objectives that test mastery across combat, life skills, and minigames. Completing challenges earns experience, currency, and unique rewards including Sealed Abyss Artifacts. The challenge system is tracked through the Knowledge System and serves as one of the game's primary endgame progression paths alongside Abyss Dungeons and World Bosses.
Challenges are grouped into four categories: Mastery, Combat, Life, and Minigame. Each category contains multiple challenge sets, and each set has its own progression ladder with increasing difficulty tiers. Higher tiers reward rarer materials and exclusive equipment.
Mastery Challenges
Mastery challenges focus on weapon proficiency. Each weapon type has its own challenge set requiring players to demonstrate skill with that weapon's combos, timing, and special techniques.

Combat Challenges
Combat challenges test general fighting ability against progressively tougher opponents and scenarios.

Challenge Rewards
Completing challenge tiers awards experience points, gold, crafting materials, and unique equipment. High-tier challenges can drop rare Sealed Abyss Artifacts that unlock powerful abilities. Some challenges also grant Knowledge entries that count toward the Knowledge System completion percentage.
Challenge progress can be tracked in the progression system menu. Each challenge set displays completed tiers, remaining objectives, and available rewards.
