Battle Challenges

Overview

Battle Challenges are a set of 10 challenges in Crimson Desert under the Combat category. These challenges involve large-scale destruction and battlefield tactics, including demolishing fortifications, using siege weapons, and fighting groups of enemies at once. Completing all 10 Battle Challenges unlocks the Battlefield Conqueror trophy and achievement.

Like all challenges, each Battle Challenge is tied to a Sealed Abyss Artifact that you must find in the open world. Pick up the artifact to reveal the challenge objective, then complete the task to unseal it and gain a skill point for the Abyss skill tree. Battle Challenges tend to be more demanding than Training Challenges because they involve larger enemy groups and tighter conditions.

How Battle Challenges Work

Battle Challenges focus on combat against structures and groups. Several require you to destroy enemy watchtowers, use cannons, or wipe out entire squads quickly. The Guiding Light ability (L1+R1 / LB+RB) can ignite structures, which is useful for watchtower-destruction challenges. Cannons found at fortified camps deal massive area damage for challenges that need multiple kills at once.

Make sure you explore Hernand and the surrounding regions thoroughly. Several Battle Challenge artifacts are scattered along roads near outposts and military camps.

2. Sinking Fort

Pick up the Sealed Abyss Artifact north of the Tommaso area in Hernand. The challenge asks you to destroy 3 watchtowers within 20 seconds. Watchtowers are the tall wooden structures at enemy camps and fortresses throughout the region.

The fastest method is to use the Guiding Light ability to ignite a watchtower from a distance. Wooden watchtowers burn quickly once lit. You can also use cannons if the camp has them, though aiming takes more time. The trick is finding a location with 3 watchtowers close enough together. Scout enemy camps in Hernand and look for ones with multiple towers before starting.

6. Into the Barrage

The artifact sits at the second intersection north of Calphade Outpost in Hernand. Your objective is to defeat 5 enemies at once with a single cannon shot.

Cannons are mounted at various military camps. You need to find a situation where 5 or more enemies are grouped together within the cannon's blast radius. One approach is to aggro a group of enemies and lead them toward a cannon, then quickly mount it and fire. Another option is to find a camp where enemies naturally cluster near a cannon during their patrol routes. Time your shot carefully, since the cannon has a slow reload.

Tips

• Guiding Light is your best friend for watchtower challenges. It ignites structures from a distance and does not require ammunition.

• Cannons deal heavy area damage but have a slow fire rate. Line up your shot before committing.

• For challenges that require killing multiple enemies quickly, soften them up first, then use an area attack to finish them off within the time window.

• Battle Challenges reward Destruction and other combat-focused Abyss passive abilities.

• Check the Challenges menu after picking up each Sealed Abyss Artifact to see the exact requirement.
