Overview
Tommaso is the largest town in the Tashkalp sub-region of the Crimson Desert region. It sits in the far northeastern part of the Pywel continent, surrounded by crimson sands and harsh terrain. The town is not part of any main quest objective, but it is a rest stop and supply point for travelers making their way through the desert.

Players will typically first encounter Tommaso during Chapter 9 of the main story, when the narrative brings them into the Crimson Desert region. However, it is possible to reach Tommaso earlier through free-roaming exploration if you are prepared for the dangerous journey across the desert.

Location
Tommaso is located far to the northeast of Hernand, just below where "Tashkalp" is written on the world map. The town sits roughly in the middle of the Crimson Desert and is surrounded by three fast travel points (Abyss Nexus nodes) that make returning to the area convenient once they are activated.
Bell Tower
Tommaso has a bell tower that is part of the Toll of Pywel quest series. Ringing the bell at the top of the tower clears the fog of war from the surrounding portion of the map, revealing nearby points of interest, resource nodes, and quest markers. The bell tower can be found in the northern part of the town.
Services and Facilities
As the primary settlement in Tashkalp, Tommaso offers basic services for adventurers crossing the desert. Vendors sell supplies and equipment suited for surviving the harsh conditions. Like other towns in the Crimson Desert region, Tommaso operates outside the jurisdiction of any major faction. This reflects the lawless nature of the area.
How to Reach Tommaso
The most direct route to Tommaso is to head northeast from Hernand through the Crimson Desert. The journey covers a significant distance across open desert terrain. Players should prepare with recovery items, as the extreme heat (temperatures can reach 50 degrees Celsius in-game) drains stamina more quickly than in temperate regions. Horses and mounts help reduce travel time considerably.
Once the main story reaches Chapter 9, the game naturally guides the player into the Crimson Desert region. From there, Tommaso can be reached as a side destination during free exploration.

Contribution Shop
Tommaso's vendor draws from the Tashkalp contribution pool, which is shared with Varnia. This means any contribution points earned through faction quests in either settlement count toward the same total. The vendor is located on the second floor of a building near the other stores in town.

Faction Quests
Harvest of Greed
The Harvest of Greed investigation is a faction quest that takes place in and around Tommaso. A thief has stolen desert melons, and the quest involves speaking with the Tommaso guard captain at Redsand Farm in Tashkalp Territory. After reading the Investigative Log in your inventory, you speak with the farmer Hajiv to begin piecing together clues. The quest chain involves examining evidence and interrogating witnesses across the settlement.
Witch Encounter
A disguised witch can be found near the Tommaso Fork Posthouse on the northern side of the settlement, close to the bounty board and the small posthouse structure. This is one of the six witch encounters scattered across Pywel. The witch appears as a child named Areciel on the ridge north of the settlement.
Sealed Abyss Artifacts
Several Sealed Abyss Artifacts are located in and around Tommaso, each requiring a specific combat challenge to claim:

Location | Challenge |
|---|---|
Ridge north of Tommaso | Destroy three watchtowers within 20 seconds |
Roadside leading north out of town | Defeat three hyenas without moving more than 20 meters |
Western exit of Tommaso | Destroy two watchtowers with a hand cannon within 10 seconds |
Environmental Hazards
The desert surrounding Tommaso poses real danger to unprepared travelers. In-game temperatures in the Crimson Desert region can reach 50 degrees Celsius, which drains stamina more quickly than in temperate areas. Stocking up on recovery items at the Tommaso vendors before heading out into the open desert is strongly recommended.

Two-Pit Farm Loop
Tommaso has two fighting pits, one in the west of town and one in the east. The layout is the engine behind the Abyss Artifacts Farming Guide XP gauge loop. From the west Nexus teleporter, drop south into the west pit, wipe the Tommaso Guards, then travel through the market to the east pit. The distance between the two sides is enough to respawn guards on the side you just cleared, so the loop runs without loading screens or fast-travel resets. A mask must be worn before the first attack or the guards ignore you.
Tommaso Guard Identification
Golden leather armor and a long red helmet tassel mark the XP-rich targets.
No shield keeps the kill speed high.
Tanky variants take extra hits but pay the biggest single-kill XP payout in the loop.
Lizard-mounted guards belong to the same faction and also fill the gauge, except for the occasional rider not wearing golden armor.
Shielded guards block most hits and should be skipped.
Bounty, Mask, and Jail
The Highwell system caps bounty at 100 silver per town no matter how many guards fall, so paying it off between runs is cheap. When the farm is over, dying in Tommaso sends the character straight to jail, which also clears the bounty automatically. Jail confiscates the mask, so pick up a replacement from a back-alley shop or loot one from bandits before starting the next loop.
