Overview
Crimson Desert has different respawn rules for enemies and gatherables depending on the type and context. Understanding these rules is important for farming materials, leveling up, and knowing which encounters are permanent.
Gatherable Respawning
Resource nodes like herbs, ores, mushrooms, fruits, and other gatherables are placed at fixed locations on the map. Once harvested, they will reappear after roughly two to three in-game days. The nodes always respawn in the exact same spot, making it easy to establish farming routes.
Save-Reload Method
Gatherables also respawn when you reload a save file. This means you can harvest a resource node, save your game, reload that save, and harvest the same node again immediately. This exploit is particularly useful for quickly farming rare alchemy materials and crafting components.
Fast Travel Reset
Fast traveling to a distant Abyss Nexus or sleeping at an inn for three full in-game days also forces resource nodes to respawn. This is a natural alternative to the save-reload method if you prefer to play without exploits.
Enemy Respawning
Enemy respawn behavior depends on the type of encounter.
Landmark Bandits (Do Not Respawn)
Enemy bandits that occupy landmarks, outposts, and other liberatable locations do not respawn once you have cleared the area. After liberation, the location is repopulated with friendly NPCs, merchants, or quest givers. These encounters are permanently resolved.
Roaming Enemies (Respawn After Time)
General roaming enemies in the open world, including bandits on roads, wildlife, and patrol groups, respawn after roughly two in-game days. Leaving the area and returning after enough time has passed will bring them back.
Fort Perwin (Continuous Spawns)
Fort Perwin is a special case. During the Continuing Concern House Roberts Faction Quest, enemies continue to pour out of the fort endlessly until the boss is defeated, even after the faction bar reaches zero. This makes Fort Perwin one of the best locations for farming loot and copper. Bandits drop weapons, armor, coin pouches, and junk items that can be sold for significant amounts of silver.
World Bosses
Story bosses and world bosses generally do not respawn after being defeated. However, certain repeatable boss encounters tied to challenges or post-game content may reappear under specific conditions.
Farming Tips
For gatherables, memorize a farming route through areas rich in the material you need, then save-reload or rest for a few days to reset the nodes.
For enemy loot, Fort Perwin's continuous spawns during the House Roberts quest are the most efficient source of equipment drops and coin.
Selling looted bandit weapons and armor to vendors can earn you dozens of silver coins per farming session.
Combine gathering runs with combat farming for maximum efficiency on each trip through the world.
