Postgame Guide

Overview

Completing the main story in Pokemon Pokopia takes approximately 20 to 40 hours, after which the credits roll. But the credits are far from the end. The postgame opens up a massive amount of new content, including the final Ditto transformation, Legendary and Mythical Pokemon encounters, fossil assembly, collection challenges, and unlimited creative building. This guide walks through every major postgame activity in a recommended order so you can make the most of your time after the credits.

What Triggers the Credits

The credits are triggered by completing the Team Initiation Challenge, a multi-part Important Request that spans the entire game. Specifically, you must:

1. Complete each area's Important Request across all four story regions (Withered Wasteland, Bleak Beach, Rocky Ridges, and Sparkling Skylands)

2. Rebuild each area's Pokemon Center

3. Raise Environment Level to 5 in all four story areas

4. Complete all 9 stages of the Team Initiation Challenge

The final stage of the Team Initiation Challenge transforms the lighthouse into a rocket ship, triggering the credits sequence. After the credits, the game returns you to the world with all your progress intact and new content unlocked.

Recommended Postgame Order

There is no strict order, but the following sequence is the most efficient path through the postgame content. Unlocking Magnet Rise first is strongly recommended because it makes every other postgame task faster and easier.

Step 1: Unlock Magnet Rise

Magnet Rise is the 14th and final Ditto transformation move, exclusive to the postgame. It transforms Ditto into Magnemite, granting free vertical flight and advanced building capabilities.

How to unlock:

1. After the credits, the mysterious tower in Withered Wasteland is gone. A hole has opened in the ground where the tower stood.

2. Drop down into the hole to find a hidden underground area: a former Team Rocket Hideout.

3. Inside, a lone Magnemite waits. Speak to it to befriend it.

4. Magnemite asks you to build a Factory Storage habitat, which requires 1 Streetlight, 1 Control Unit, 1 Metal Drum, and 1 Jumbled Cords.

5. Complete the habitat and return to Magnemite to learn Magnet Rise.

What Magnet Rise does:

• Free vertical flight: Fly up and down without needing platforms or ramps

• Mid-air block placement: Place or replace up to 9 blocks simultaneously while airborne

• Block absorption: Absorb and pick up blocks directly ahead of you

• Item pickup: Pick up almost every placed item while flying

Magnet Rise completely transforms the building experience. Every subsequent postgame activity (fossil hunting, habitat building for Legendary Pokemon, creative projects) is dramatically easier with it.

While exploring the Team Rocket Hideout, also pick up the Rocket Hideout CD, a hidden music collectible for DJ Rotom.

Step 2: Build Legendary Pokemon Habitats

Pokopia features 12 Legendary and Mythical Pokemon. Some are story encounters, while others require building specific habitats or completing collection challenges. The three Legendary Birds in Palette Town are some of the most rewarding postgame targets.

The Legendary Bird habitat kits are large and expensive. Save them for Palette Town where open space is abundant. You can only build one per day because of their size. Stock up on Copper Ingots, Gold Ingots, Pokemetal, and Glass before starting.

Step 3: Complete the Mysterious Mural and Unlock Mew

Mew is the final Pokemon in the Pokedex and the last Mythical Pokemon available. Unlocking Mew requires collecting all 28 Mystery Slates and placing them on the Mysterious Mural, a wall covered in Unown symbols located in an underground chamber in Withered Wasteland.

How to find the Mural:

• Head to the area near the Pokemon Center in Withered Wasteland.

• Look for breakable blocks. Use Rock Smash to access the hidden area.

• Break the wall to the left where chiseled blocks are visible. This uncovers stairs leading down to the Mural.

How to find Mystery Slates:

• Mystery Slates are obtained exclusively by breaking Glowing Blocks scattered across the ground in all five areas.

• Use Rock Smash on any Glowing Block you spot. Slates are not guaranteed drops; you will also find Lost Relics, CDs, Fossils, and other rare materials.

• Each slate has an Unown symbol engraved on its back (rotate it 180 degrees to see it). Match each slate to the corresponding symbol on the Mural.

• There are 26 letter slates (A through Z) plus slates for the ! and ? symbols.

• You will not find a duplicate slate until you have collected all unique ones.

Once all 28 slates are placed correctly, Mew appears on your island as a permanent resident. Unlike other legendaries, Mew stays permanently. You can build Mew a house, have it follow you, and use its abilities.

Step 4: Complete the Pokedex

Most players finish the story with roughly 70% of the Pokedex filled. The Pokopia Pokedex contains 300 Pokemon in the base game, with Mew as the final entry. Filling the remaining 30% requires:

• Building rare habitats to attract hard-to-find Pokemon

• Visiting Dream Islands for region-exclusive species

• Exploring Palette Town for Eevee and all eight Eeveelutions

• Building Legendary Bird habitats (Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres)

• Meeting specific weather and time-of-day conditions for elusive species

• Completing the Mysterious Mural for Mew

Full Pokedex completion typically takes an additional 50 to 80 hours beyond the credits.

Pokedex Completion Reward

After registering all 300 Pokemon, Professor Tangrowth rewards you with the recipe for the Neo-Dowsing Machine. This upgraded version of the standard Dowsing Machine can detect hidden structures that the regular model cannot pick up. Tangrowth directs you to take it to Sparkling Skylands and scan the northwest area of the main island.

Using the Neo-Dowsing Machine in the indicated spot reveals a concealed Area Gate. Scanning your completed Pokedex at the gate unlocks a hidden room sometimes called the Pokedex Completion Room. This area resembles a small developer office, with desks, computers, and shelves filled with Pokemon memorabilia. Inside, you can collect three exclusive crafting recipes and a printable completion certificate:

Step 5: Collect All Fossils

There are 22 fossil pieces representing 9 fossil Pokemon to discover and assemble at the Museum in Rocky Ridges. Bring fossil pieces to the Museum and place them on Exhibition Stands to assemble fossil display habitats. When a complete fossil is assembled, the corresponding Pokemon spawns as a recruitable resident.

The 9 fossil Pokemon are: Aerodactyl, Cranidos, Rampardos, Shieldon, Bastiodon, Tyrunt, Tyrantrum, Amaura, and Aurorus.

Fossil pieces are found in Glowing Blocks across all regions. Use Rock Smash to break them open. Fossil hunting requires patience and daily visits to mining areas with the Dowsing Machine.

Step 6: Max All Environment Levels

While reaching Environment Level 5 in each story area is required for the credits, the maximum is Level 10. Raising all areas to Level 10 unlocks the final tier of shop items, recipes, rare Pokemon spawns, and Challenges.

To push Environment Levels past 5:

• Raise every befriended Pokemon's Comfort Level to Awesome by building custom houses, gifting their favorite flavor food, and completing personal requests

• Build more habitats and buildings to attract additional Pokemon

• Place furniture and decorations both inside and outside of homes

• Complete PC Challenges from the Pokemon Center terminal

Step 7: Collect Ancient Artifacts and Human Records

Two additional collection categories offer deep lore content:

• Ancient Artifacts (Lost Relics): 37 Large Relics and 46+ Small Relics, found via Rock Smash and Glowing Blocks. Have them appraised by Professor Tangrowth, then trade appraised relics to Gimmighoul for exclusive furniture.

• Human Records: Lore documents scattered across all regions that reveal the history of Pokopia's post-apocalyptic Kanto setting, including references to characters from past Pokemon games.

Step 8: Collect All Recipes, CDs, and Items

Track down every cooking recipe, crafting recipe, furniture item, and Music CD in the game. Some recipes are only available through the Daily Shop rotation or Cloud Island shops. CDs are hidden throughout the world in breakable objects and Glowing Blocks.

Creative Building in the Postgame

With all 14 Ditto moves unlocked (including Magnet Rise for vertical flight and mid-air block placement), the endgame becomes a full creative sandbox. You have access to every material, every recipe, and every traversal ability.

• Build elaborate structures in Palette Town, which is a massive blank canvas designed for freeform building

• Design themed habitats and custom neighborhoods in any region

• Construct multi-story buildings using Magnet Rise to place blocks at height

• Use the Smearguru paint system to recolor furniture and blocks for custom color schemes

Multiplayer and Cloud Islands

Create and share Cloud Islands with other players. The postgame is when Cloud Islands become most rewarding, since you have access to all moves, materials, and recipes. Share Magic Numbers online for creative island showcases.

Cloud Island shops may carry recipes and items not available in your main game. Visit Cloud Shops regularly to find recipes you are missing.

Completion Estimates

Postgame Tips

• Unlock Magnet Rise as early as possible after the credits. It transforms the building experience entirely and makes every other task faster.

• Take advantage of limited-time events when they appear. Event-exclusive Pokemon and items count toward full completion.

• The Mysterious Mural in Withered Wasteland is easy to miss. Look for breakable blocks near the Pokemon Center to find the underground chamber.

• Collect Rainbow Feathers and Silver Wings whenever Ho-Oh or Lugia fly overhead. Use Water Gun or Cut to grab the feathers before they disappear.

• Feed Mosslax Dry-flavor food to increase the spawn rate of Rainbow Feathers and Silver Feathers, which are needed for trading with Gimmighoul.

• Use Dream Islands daily to stockpile rare materials like Pokemetal Fragments and Crystal Fragments. The Dragonite Doll takes you to Sky Dream Island, which is the best source.

• Visit Cloud Island shops regularly. Some recipes only appear in other players' shops, not your own.

• The game is designed as a life simulation first and a story second. There is no pressure to rush completion. Enjoy the building and collecting at your own pace.
