Gold Ingot

Overview

Gold Ingot is a premium processed material in Pokemon Pokopia. Its in-game description reads: "Gold that has been processed in a smelting furnace. Just looking at it makes you feel fancy." Created by smelting Gold Ore at a Smelting Furnace, Gold Ingots are the rarest standard metal ingot in the game. They are classified under the Standard item category with a trade value of 500 (or 750 when marked as a favorite under the Metal Stuff category). Gold Ingots are also paintable, letting players customize their appearance before placing them.

Gold Ingots feed into 24 crafting recipes (primarily luxury furniture and decorative walls), three building kits, and several story-related requests. Because Gold Ore is scarce and only found in late-game areas, planning ahead and stockpiling ore early is essential for players who want to complete major construction projects.

How to Obtain

Gold Ingots are produced by smelting Gold Ore at a Smelting Furnace. A Pokemon with the Burn specialty must be assigned to the furnace for processing to begin. The conversion ratio is 1:1, so each piece of Gold Ore produces exactly one Gold Ingot. Smelting is time-based; players load the ore and return later to collect finished ingots.

You can place multiple Smelting Furnaces and assign a Burn-specialty Pokemon to each one for parallel processing. This is strongly recommended when large quantities are needed for building kits.

Where to Find Gold Ore

Gold Ore is the raw material needed to produce Gold Ingots. It is found in two main locations, both of which are mid-to-late-game areas.

Rocky Ridges

The primary source of Gold Ore is Rocky Ridges. Gold Ore blocks sit on the deeper level of the mine, identifiable by their yellow or golden appearance against the dark stone and crystals. Standard Rock Smash is not strong enough to break these blocks. Players must eat a Hamburger Steak to power up Rock Smash before the gold-flecked blocks can be shattered. Rocky Ridges also contains Iron Ore, Copper Ore, and Glowing Stone, making it the richest mining area in the game.

Volcanic Dream Islands

The Volcanic Dream Islands are accessed by giving Drifloon an Arcanine Poke Doll. These islands provide a renewable daily source of Gold Ore alongside Iron Ore and Glowing Stones. Since fixed mines in Rocky Ridges contain a finite amount of ore, the Volcanic Dream Islands become the primary farming method for players who need large quantities.

Building Kit Requirements

Gold Ingots are required for three building kits. These are among the most material-intensive construction projects in the game, so players should start stockpiling Gold Ore well before reaching these milestones.

The Altar of the Flame alone requires 50 Gold Ingots, making it the single largest Gold Ingot sink in the game. Players aiming to summon Moltres should begin farming Gold Ore as early as possible.

Story and Quest Uses

Team Initiation Challenge

The Team Initiation Challenge is a multi-stage story quest that players must complete to progress through the main campaign. Challenge 4 requires delivering 20 Gold Ingots along with 40 Bricks and 50 Concrete. Completing this delivery earns the Rainbowish Badge. Players who have not yet reached Sparkling Skylands should note that this challenge becomes available in that biome.

Total Gold Ingot Demand

Across all major uses, the minimum Gold Ingot requirements for key milestones add up quickly.

This total does not include the 24 furniture and decoration recipes, each of which needs additional Gold Ingots. Players who want to complete all building kits and furnish their town with luxury items should expect to gather well over 150 Gold Ore in total.

Tips and Strategies

• Start farming early: Gold Ore only spawns in late-game areas, but the demand is high. Begin collecting from Rocky Ridges as soon as you unlock the deep mine levels.

• Use Volcanic Dream Islands daily: The Arcanine Poke Doll lets you visit a Volcanic Dream Island every day. These islands provide renewable Gold Ore, Iron Ore, and Glowing Stones.

• Power up Rock Smash: Eat a Hamburger Steak before mining to break through the tough gold-flecked blocks. Without the boost, Gold Ore blocks cannot be broken.

• Run multiple furnaces: Place several Smelting Furnaces and assign a Burn-specialty Pokemon to each one. Parallel smelting is the fastest way to convert large batches of ore into ingots.

• Prioritize the Altar of the Flame: At 50 Gold Ingots, the Altar is the biggest single investment. If you plan to summon Moltres, budget your ingots accordingly and avoid spending them on decorative recipes until you have surplus.

• Build the Smelting Furnace recipe: Each furnace costs 4 Iron Ore and 4 Stone. Keep extra furnaces on hand so you can smelt Gold Ore, Iron Ore, and Copper Ore simultaneously.
