Overview
Cranidos is a Rock-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Head Butt Pokemon (Dex #272). In rock layers where Cranidos fossils are found, the fossilized trunks of trees snapped in two are also often found. Cranidos is the first stage of a two-stage evolutionary line, evolving into Rampardos in the main series. It carries the Crush specialty, allowing it to break apart rocks and hard objects.
Habitat
Cranidos can be found at one habitat.
Skull Fossil Display (#194)
A display of an ancient Pokemon fossil. This fossilized skull is as hard as iron.
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Pedestal / Exhibition Stand | 1 | Display base |
Skull Fossil | 1 | Fossilized skull specimen |
Cranidos is a Common visitor at the Skull Fossil Display. It is the only Pokemon that visits this habitat. This is one of the simpler fossil habitats, requiring only two items: a pedestal and a single Skull Fossil.
How to Befriend
Build the Skull Fossil Display by placing a Pedestal and a Skull Fossil near each other. This is one of the easiest fossil habitats to construct since it only needs two items. Cranidos is a Common visitor, so it should appear regularly once the display is built. Walk up and interact with it to befriend it.
Specialties
Crush
Cranidos has the Crush specialty. Pokemon with the Crush specialty can break apart rocks, boulders, and other hard objects on your island. Assign Cranidos to a rock formation and it will smash it into smaller pieces and raw materials. This is essential for clearing rocky terrain and gathering stone resources for construction projects.

Related Pokemon
Cranidos evolves into Rampardos (Dex #273) in the main Pokemon series. In Pokopia, there is no evolution mechanic, so each must be found at its own habitat independently. Cranidos has the Crush specialty, while Rampardos carries both Litter (Stone) and Crush. Cranidos is also part of the larger fossil Pokemon group in Pokopia, alongside Aerodactyl, Shieldon, and Bastiodon. Cranidos and Shieldon mirror each other as the offensive and defensive fossil Pokemon from Generation 4.
Tips
The Skull Fossil Display is one of the simplest fossil habitats to build, requiring only a Pedestal and a Skull Fossil. Prioritize finding these two items for easy access to the Crush specialty.
If you need both Crush and Litter (Stone) from a single Pokemon, work toward befriending Rampardos instead, which carries both specialties.
Cranidos shares its dry-environment preference with all other fossil Pokemon. If you're building a fossil museum area on your island, grouping fossil displays together creates a cohesive dry-themed zone.
Stone stuff and hard objects near the habitat match Cranidos's preferences and fit the fossil display theme naturally.
