Overview
Maple Reed is an area on Starsand Island best known as the location of the Hot Springs one of the primary stamina recovery methods in the game. The area sits between the Starsand Town residential district and the coastal Crane Cape area, offering multiple hot spring spots where players can rest and recharge. For detailed stamina mechanics, see the Hot Springs article.
Hot Springs
The Hot Springs are Maple Reed's defining feature. There are multiple hot spring spots scattered around the area, and any of them work the same way. They provide a relaxing way to recover stamina without consuming food.
How to use the Hot Springs
Item | Description |
|---|---|
1. Buy a Hot Spring Ticket | Purchase from Zerine's General Store or any vending machine on the island. Tickets cost 100 coins each (occasional random discounts). |
2. Keep the ticket in your bag | No need to equip it on your hotbar. |
3. Walk up to any hot spring spot | Interact with it and the ticket is consumed automatically. |
4. Rest and recover | Your character sits in the hot spring and stamina begins regenerating. |
Stamina recovery rate
You recover roughly 1 stamina per real second, or about 2 to 3 stamina per in-game minute. Filling a completely empty stamina bar takes a while, so it is difficult to use the hot springs twice in a single day. Plan your visit for when you need a significant recharge rather than topping off a nearly full bar.
Hot Springs vs. food vs. sitting
There are several ways to recover stamina in Starsand Island:
Recipe | Details |
|---|---|
Hot Springs (100 coins) | Steady recovery at 1 stamina/second. Best in the early game when food is scarce. Requires traveling to Maple Reed. |
Cooked food (ingredient cost) | Instant recovery ranging from 45 to 105+ stamina per dish. Faster and more convenient once you have recipes and ingredients stockpiled. See the cooking guide. |
Sitting with Recuperate (free) | Craft a Stump Stool (3 Softwood) or any chair and sit on it to passively regenerate stamina. The Recuperate perk from the Workpedia app (Apprentice Crafter) significantly speeds up this rate. This is a separate mechanic from the Hot Springs: the perk boosts sitting recovery, not hot springs recovery. |
Sleeping (free) | Going to bed fully restores stamina the next morning, but ends the current day. |
Romantic activity
Visiting the Hot Springs is one of the shared outing activities you can do with romanceable NPCs once you reach Heart Level 3 (370 AP). Other shared outing options include bike rides, backyard swings, and having drinks. NPCs respond differently to the invitation based on their personality.
Treasure chests
Maple Reed contains at least 2 treasure chests:
#32: At the back of the hot springs area. Follow the building around to the right.
#33: Near the hot springs area, contains a Satellite Dish Blueprint and 5 Hot Spring Tickets.
How to get there
Maple Reed is within walking distance of Starsand Town, located between the town's residential and dining district and the coastal Crane Cape area. There is no dedicated bus stop at Maple Reed, so the nearest fast travel point is in the Starsand Town area.
Nearby areas
Starsand Town The main hub, south of Maple Reed. All shops and services are accessible from here.
Crane Cape: The coastal pier and lighthouse area, further along from Maple Reed.
Bloom Atelier Serena's salon is located nearby in the northern part of Starsand Town.
Tips
Hot Spring Tickets can also be found in treasure chests around the island, so you may get a few for free before needing to buy them.
If you are running low on stamina while exploring far from Maple Reed, eating food is more practical. Save the hot springs for when you are already nearby or have run out of food.
The hot springs are a great early-game fallback, 100 coins for a full stamina refill beats spending ingredients you might need for gifts or quests.
Combine Hot Springs visits with Maple Reed exploration to check the treasure chests in the area.
Unlock the Recuperate perk from the Workpedia early, free stamina recovery from sitting on any chair complements Hot Springs when you are at home and do not want to travel to Maple Reed.
