Overview
The World Tree is a late-game craftable item in Starsand Island that, once planted on your farm, periodically generates treasure chests. It is one of the most reliable ways to passively acquire loot without venturing into the Moonlit Forest or hunting down fixed treasure chests across the island. Crafting it requires Worktable Level III, the highest-tier crafting station in the game.
How to unlock
Before you can craft a World Tree, you need two things: the World Tree blueprint and a Worktable III.
World Tree blueprint
The World Tree blueprint is found exclusively through exploration. It is not sold by any vendor on the island, comprehensive blueprint vendor lists (covering all shops from Zerine's General Store to the Exploration Club) do not include it. The exact discovery location is not documented in current guides. Keep exploring, opening chests, and completing quests in the Moonlit Forest to find it.
Worktable Level III
Worktable III is the highest-tier crafting station, unlocked through the Crafter profession with mentor Zerine at the General Store. The progression path is:
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Apprentice Crafter | Starting tier. Uses Worktable I. |
Junior Crafter | Unlocks the Worktable II blueprint. |
Senior Crafter | Unlocks the Worktable III blueprint. |
You can upgrade an existing worktable directly rather than building a new one from scratch, which requires fewer materials. Worktable III includes all recipes from Worktable I and II.
How it works
Once crafted, the World Tree is planted on your homestead (Hopeland, Cloudrest Lake, Blue Beach, or Windflute Island). After planting, the tree periodically produces treasure chests that appear at its base. Simply walk up and interact with the chests to collect your rewards.
The exact production rate and chest contents are still being documented by the community. Treasure chests from the World Tree generally contain resources, consumables, and occasionally blueprints. Similar to other treasure chests found around the island.
Multiple World Trees
You can plant multiple World Trees on your farm. This is the recommended approach for players who want to maximize passive treasure farming. Planting multiple trees across your homestead plots is described as the most reliable way to farm treasure chests in Starsand Island.
Types of treasure in Starsand Island
The World Tree is one of several treasure acquisition methods in the game:
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Fixed treasure chests | ~40 around the island + ~47 in the Moonlit Forest. Found via exploration and puzzles. See the treasure chests guide. |
Treasure Map digs | Buried chests in the Moonlit Forest, revealed by a golden arrow. |
World Tree chests | Passively generated on your farm (this article). |
Boss drops | Chests dropped by defeated bosses. |
Friendship chests | Hidden in NPC bedrooms, accessible at Affection Level 3. |
Dredged chests | Destroyed Chests fished from lakes. |
Tips
The World Tree is a late-game investment. Do not rush the Crafter profession just for this, focus on the professions that benefit your current playstyle first.
Plant multiple World Trees across different homestead plots for maximum chest output.
Check your World Trees regularly when you return home. Chests may stack up waiting for collection.
Upgrading an existing Worktable is cheaper than building Worktable III from scratch. Upgrade incrementally as you advance through Crafter tiers.
The blueprint is not sold anywhere, you must find it through exploration. Focus on Moonlit Forest runs and opening every chest you encounter.
