Overview
The World Tree is a late-game craftable item in Starsand Island that, once planted on your homestead, periodically generates treasure chests at its base. It is one of the most valuable endgame investments for players looking to acquire loot passively, without needing to venture into the Moonlit Forest or track down fixed treasure chests across the island. The World Tree requires Worktable Level III, the highest-tier crafting station in the game, and a blueprint that must be discovered through exploration.
How to Unlock
Crafting a World Tree requires two things: the World Tree blueprint and access to a Worktable III.
World Tree Blueprint
The blueprint is found exclusively through exploration. It is not sold by any vendor on the island. Comprehensive blueprint vendor lists covering all shops, from Zerine's General Store to the Exploration Club, do not include it. Players have reported finding it through treasure chests and quest rewards in the Moonlit Forest. Keep exploring, opening chests, and completing quests to locate it.
Worktable Level III
Worktable III is the highest-tier crafting station, unlocked through the Crafter profession. Your mentor for the Crafter profession is Zerine at the General Store. To unlock Worktable III, you need to advance through the Crafter certification tiers:
Certification Tier | Worktable Unlocked | How to Advance |
|---|---|---|
Apprentice Crafter | Worktable I (starting tier) | Complete Zerine's initial crafting quest |
Junior Crafter | Worktable II blueprint | Complete Junior Crafter trial quest |
Intermediate Crafter | No new worktable at this tier | Complete Intermediate trial quest |
Intermediate Crafter | Worktable III blueprint | Complete Intermediate Crafter trial quest |
You can upgrade an existing worktable directly rather than building a new one from scratch, which requires fewer materials. Worktable III includes all recipes from Worktable I and II.
Crafting the World Tree
Once you have both the blueprint and Worktable III, the exact materials required are listed in your Islandpedia under the World Tree entry. The recipe becomes visible after discovering the blueprint. Materials typically include high-tier resources found across the island and in the Moonlit Forest.
How It Works
Once crafted, the World Tree is planted on your homestead. You can place it at any of the available farm plots: Hopeland, Cloudrest Lake, Blue Beach, or Windflute Island. After planting, the tree periodically produces treasure chests that appear at its base. Walk up and interact with the chests to collect your rewards.
Treasure chests from the World Tree contain a mix of resources, consumables, and occasionally blueprints, similar to the fixed treasure chests found around the island. Chests accumulate over time if you do not collect them immediately, so check back regularly.
Planting Multiple World Trees
You can plant multiple World Trees on your farm. This is the recommended approach for maximizing passive treasure farming. Planting several trees across your homestead plots is widely considered the most reliable method for farming treasure chests in Starsand Island. The more trees you plant, the more chests you generate over time.
Other Worktable III Items
The World Tree shares its crafting tier with several other endgame items. Other notable Worktable III recipes include:
Category | Items |
|---|---|
Advanced Tools | Chainsaw, Electric Drill, Hydraulic Powered Hoe, Powered Hoe |
Astra Rod, Dawnbreak Rod, Divine Rod, Lost Angler's Rod, Solar Rod, Titanium Rod, Wanderer's Rod | |
Alpaca Barn, Ostrich Barn, Auto Milker, Auto Shearer, Love Feeder, Friendship Collar, Selective Breeding House | |
Gathering Robot, Logging Robot, Mining Robot, Robot Terminal | |
Farm Equipment | Various Sprinklers, Fertilizer Boxes, Starsand Grinder, Grinder |
Freewind Jet, Hell Messenger, Lightning, Nitro GTS, Speedboat | |
Other | Teleporter, Music Box, Impact Bomb, Spirit Cube III, Cleaning Pod, Realm Summoner |
Reaching Worktable III is a major milestone. Beyond the World Tree, it grants access to the most powerful tools, automation systems, and vehicles in the game.
Types of Treasure in Starsand Island
The World Tree is one of several treasure acquisition methods available:
Source | Description |
|---|---|
Fixed Treasure Chests | Around 40 scattered across the island and 47 or more in the Moonlit Forest, found through exploration and puzzles |
Treasure Map Digs | Buried chests in the Moonlit Forest, revealed by a golden arrow after obtaining a treasure map |
World Tree Chests | Passively generated on your homestead farm (this article) |
Boss Drops | Chests dropped by defeated bosses in the Moonlit Forest |
Friendship Chests | Hidden in NPC bedrooms, accessible at Heart Level 3 (370+ Affection Points) |
Dredged Chests | Destroyed chests that can be fished from lakes |
Tips
The World Tree is a late-game investment. Do not rush the Crafter profession just for this item. Focus on professions that benefit your current playstyle first, then work toward Intermediate Crafter when you are ready.
Plant multiple World Trees across different homestead plots for maximum chest output.
Check your World Trees regularly when you return home. Chests may stack up waiting for collection.
Upgrading an existing Worktable is cheaper than building Worktable III from scratch. Upgrade incrementally as you advance through Crafter tiers.
The blueprint is not sold anywhere on the island. You must find it through exploration, so focus on Moonlit Forest runs and open every chest you encounter.
Once you have Worktable III, consider crafting automation items like the Gathering Robot and Mining Robot alongside the World Tree. These complement the passive resource generation strategy.
