Ore Analyzer
Guide to the Ore Analyzer crafting station in Starsand Island. Covers how to unlock it at Junior or Intermediate Crafter, crafting materials (8 Hardwood + 2 Copper Sheets), how to use it to process Common Ore Chunks, possible outputs (stone, copper, Ancient Precision Parts), and tips for farming ore chunks.
Ore Analyzer
The Ore Analyzer is a crafting station in Starsand Island that processes Common Ore Chunks into usable materials. Common Ore Chunks are opaque rocks found throughout the Moonlit Forest that cannot be identified until run through the Analyzer. The Ore Analyzer is the only way to extract their contents, which can include stone, copper ore, and the valuable Ancient Precision Parts.
How to Unlock
The Ore Analyzer Blueprint is purchased from Zerine's General Store after reaching the appropriate Crafter profession certification tier. The blueprint becomes available alongside other processing station upgrades.
Crafting the Ore Analyzer
Material | Quantity | Source |
|---|---|---|
Hardwood | 8 | Chop Hardwood trees in the Moonlit Forest or on the island surface |
Copper Sheet | 2 | Process Copper Ingots at a Worktable (Copper Ingots come from smelting Copper Ore at the Furnace) |
Build the Ore Analyzer at your Worktable and place it on your farm or near your other crafting stations. It takes up a small footprint and works as a standalone station.
How to Use
Collect Common Ore Chunks from mining nodes in the Moonlit Forest. They look like nondescript grey rocks and drop alongside regular ores when mining.
Interact with the Ore Analyzer and load Common Ore Chunks into the input slot.
The Analyzer processes each chunk and reveals its contents.
Possible Outputs
Each Common Ore Chunk yields one of several possible materials when processed:
Output | Rarity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Stone | Common | Basic building material. Not very valuable but useful in bulk. |
Copper Ore | Common | Standard metal ore used in smelting and crafting. |
Ancient Precision Parts | Rare | Valuable crafting component used in advanced recipes and high-tier equipment. This is the main reason to process Ore Chunks. |
Ancient Precision Parts are particularly valuable because they are needed for crafting advanced tools, the Rollerblades, and other Intermediate/Senior tier items. The random nature of Ore Chunk processing means that farming and analyzing large batches is the most efficient way to accumulate Precision Parts.
Where to Find Common Ore Chunks
Common Ore Chunks drop from mining any ore node in the Moonlit Forest. They appear alongside the primary ore (Copper, Iron, Gold) when you break a mining node. The early zones of the Moonlit Forest (Evernight Forest, Dreamfall Garden) are good spots to farm them because mining nodes respawn regularly in these areas.
Ore Chunks also drop from the World Tree rewards and can occasionally be found in treasure chests within the Moonlit Forest.
Tips
Build the Ore Analyzer as soon as the blueprint is available. Common Ore Chunks accumulate quickly during mining trips, and leaving them unprocessed wastes potential Ancient Precision Parts.
Ancient Precision Parts are used in several advanced crafting recipes. Do not sell them unless you have a surplus.
Combine Ore Analyzer trips with regular mining runs in the Moonlit Forest. Mine ores, collect the Chunk byproducts, and process them all at once when you return home.
The Analyzer's output is random. Expect mostly Stone and Copper Ore, with occasional Ancient Precision Parts. Processing in bulk smooths out the randomness.
Place the Ore Analyzer near your Furnace so you can immediately smelt any Copper Ore that comes out of the Analyzer.
