Overview
Hopeland is the player's starting farm area, located at the southern edge of Starsand Island. You receive a small plot of land with a tiny cottage when you first arrive. This is your base of operations for farming, crafting, ranching, and building. The Moonlit Forest entrance is south of your home through a Damaged Door, and Zerine's General Store is the closest shop to the northeast.
Starting farm
Your initial farm is a modest plot centered around a small cottage. The cottage can be fully customized piece by piece using crafting materials, or you can purchase a prefab layout. The starting area is large enough to launch a modest farming or crafting venture.

Farm activities
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Crops | Till plots with a hoe, plant seeds, and water crops. Giant crop mutations are possible (e.g., Watermelons and Pumpkins in 3x3 grids). Some crops like Cucumbers need trellises. Sprinklers unlock at the Intermediate Farmer tier for automatic watering. |
Animals | Build hutches and barns to raise livestock. Rabbits can also be used for natural weed removal on the farm. See the mounts article for rideable animals. |
Crafting | Place workstations and production facilities (worktable, furnace, etc.) directly on your farm. See the blueprints article for all craftable items. |
Building | Customize your house and add barns, coops, and crafting stations anywhere on your land. |
Unlocking land expansion
The Buy Land app unlocks on your in-game phone after completing two milestones:
Reach Junior level in any profession (Farming, Ranching, Crafting, Fishing, or Exploration).
Complete 5 requests from the Community Center Bulletin Board in Starsand Town.
Hopeland expansion costs
There are 8 expansion plots surrounding your starting farm. Each costs progressively more coins and Starsand currency. All plots are the same size.

Item | Description |
|---|---|
Plot 1 | 2,000 coins + 50 Starsand |
Plot 2 | 15,000 coins + 75 Starsand |
Plot 3 | 30,000 coins + 90 Starsand |
Plot 4 | 50,000 coins + 130 Starsand |
Plot 5 | 75,000 coins + 160 Starsand |
Plot 6 | 100,000 coins + 200 Starsand |
Plot 7 | 130,000 coins + 250 Starsand |
Plot 8 | 160,000 coins + 300 Starsand |
Total: 562,000 coins + 1,255 Starsand. Land purchases are permanent with no refund option. It is recommended to expand for functionality first (crop rows, barns, coops, crafting stations) rather than decorative purposes. Save Starsand currency early, it is needed for both land expansion and skill upgrades in the Workpedia. The StarNote leveling system is one of the primary ways to earn Starsand.
Late-game property locations
Beyond Hopeland's 8 expansions, three additional property locations unlock at higher ranks:
Location | Description |
|---|---|
Cloudrest Lake | Unlocked at "Home Builder" rank (expand Hopeland 6 times). Costs 6,000,000 coins + 750 Starsand. |
Blue Beach | Unlocked at "Bright Star" rank (requires Cloudrest Lake). Cost not yet confirmed in Early Access. |
Windflute Island | Unlocked at "Starsand Legend" rank (build 10 bus stations + buy Blue Beach plots). Cost not yet confirmed in Early Access. |
Fast travel
The East Hopeland bus station is close to the front of the home lot, connecting to all 10 fast travel stations across the island. Travel costs 15 Gold per trip.
Tips
Your first expansion plot (2,000 coins + 50 Starsand) is very affordable. Grab it as soon as the Buy Land app unlocks.
Prioritize functional expansions over cosmetic ones. More crop rows and crafting stations make more money faster.
The Moonlit Forest entrance behind the Damaged Door south of your home is the gateway to mining and exploration content.
Place your crafting stations near each other for efficient workflow, you will visit them constantly.
Earning Starsand from StarNote levels is the most reliable source early on. The total across all 45 levels is approximately 1,775 Starsand.
