Harvest Yard
Complete guide to Harvest Yard in Starsand Island's Moonlit Forest. Covers the Fire Arrow entrance requirement, the Waterwheel repair puzzle, resources including Diamond, Flamecore, and Fluffweave, Water Arrow vine bridge puzzle, treasure chest locations, and progression to both Grain Haven and Darkwater Shore.
Harvest Yard
Harvest Yard is a zone in the Moonlit Forest located after Mural Valley. It is notable for introducing high-tier resources like Diamond, Flamecore, and Fluffweave, as well as containing the Waterwheel, a critical mechanism that branches the forest path in two directions: upward to Grain Haven or downward to Darkwater Shore. Reaching Harvest Yard requires Fire Arrows, which makes it inaccessible until players reach the Senior Explorer tier.
How to Reach Harvest Yard
After defeating the Glintortle boss in Mural Valley, the path forward leads to a door blocked by thick tree roots. These roots cannot be broken with standard weapons or tools. Players must craft and use a Fire Arrow to burn the roots away, clearing the entrance to Harvest Yard.
Fire Arrows require the Senior Explorer certification from Zephyria at the Exploration Club. The arrow itself is crafted at the Ammo Maker using Embersand as the key ingredient. If you have not yet reached Senior Explorer, you will need to backtrack and advance your profession rank before entering Harvest Yard.
Campsite
Harvest Yard contains a campsite with the standard tent, campfire, worktable, and Moonweaver crystal for fast travel. Repairing the Moonweaver costs 5 Fluorite, and doing so activates the campsite as a teleport destination, allowing you to return here directly from the surface.
Resources
Harvest Yard is the first area in the Moonlit Forest where several high-tier materials become available:
Resource | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Diamond | Ore | Highest-tier ore in the Moonlit Forest; used in advanced crafting recipes |
Flamecore | Ore | Fire-element ore used for smelting Flamecore Ingots; required to craft the Hoverboard |
Oilstone | Ore | Processing material used in various Senior-tier recipes |
Primorite | Ore | Rare ore; required for Waterwheel repair |
Fluffweave | Plant | First appears in Harvest Yard; a fiber-like material used in textile crafting |
Harvest Yard is a good farming spot for players who need Diamond and Flamecore for their crafting projects. The ore nodes respawn after a set period, so periodic return trips are worthwhile.
Puzzles and Mechanics
Entrance: Fire Arrow Root Burn
The entrance to Harvest Yard is sealed by tree roots that must be burned with a Fire Arrow. Equip your Bow, load a Fire Arrow, and shoot the roots to clear the path. This is the first of several puzzles in the deeper Moonlit Forest that require specialized arrow types.
Water Arrow Vine Bridge
At one point in Harvest Yard, progression requires growing a vine bridge across a gap. Shoot a tree stump with a Water Arrow to cause vines to grow outward, forming a crossable bridge. Water Arrows are also unlocked at the Senior Explorer tier and are crafted at the Ammo Maker using Pristine Orbs.
Gravestar Bubbles
Two Gravestars are trapped inside bubbles in the Harvest Yard area. Pop the bubbles by shooting them with your slingshot or arrows to free the Gravestars. These are needed for gate puzzles elsewhere in the Moonlit Forest.
The Waterwheel
The Waterwheel is the central mechanism in Harvest Yard and one of the most important structures in the deeper Moonlit Forest. It is a large mechanical wheel that, once repaired, can be ridden in two directions:
Upward: Leads to Grain Haven, the next zone in the main progression path
Downward: Leads to Darkwater Shore, a side area with a fishing spot and additional resources
Repairing the Waterwheel
The Waterwheel is broken when you first arrive and must be repaired before it can be used. The repair requires the following materials:
Material | Quantity | Source |
|---|---|---|
Primorite | 5 | Mined from ore deposits in Azure Bay and Harvest Yard |
Magnetite | 5 | Mined from ore deposits in Azure Bay |
Gold | 5 | Mined from Gold Ore deposits and smelted at a Furnace |
Waterwheel Bearing | 1 | Obtained from Zephyria at the Exploration Club |
The Waterwheel Bearing is a quest item that must be picked up from Zephyria at the Exploration Club on the surface. If you arrive at the Waterwheel without the bearing, you will need to teleport back to the surface, speak to Zephyria, and then return. Collecting it in advance saves a trip.
Treasure Chests
Two treasure chests are documented in Harvest Yard:
Chest | Location |
|---|---|
Chest #28 | Near the campsite |
Chest #29 | West of the main Harvest Yard area |
Moonlit Forest Spirit
One Moonlit Forest Spirit is located in Harvest Yard, trapped inside a bubble. Free it by popping the bubble with a ranged attack. Collecting all spirits throughout the Moonlit Forest contributes to exploration completion.
Zone Progression
Harvest Yard is the seventh zone in the Moonlit Forest's linear progression:
Harvest Yard
Grain Haven (via Waterwheel upward)
Darkwater Shore (via Waterwheel downward, side branch)
From Grain Haven, the path continues through Homeward Trail, Serenity's Rest, and Moonlight Meadow, culminating in the Ruin Guard final boss fight.
Tips
Craft Fire Arrows and Water Arrows before entering Harvest Yard. Both are needed to solve puzzles in this zone, and running out means backtracking to the surface.
Bring the Waterwheel Bearing from Zephyria before your first trip to Harvest Yard. Forgetting it means an extra round trip to the surface.
Mine every Flamecore and Diamond node you find. These high-tier ores are less common in earlier zones and are needed for top-tier crafting recipes.
Repair the campsite Moonweaver before attempting anything else. If you die in Harvest Yard without a local campsite, you respawn at the most recent repaired camp, which could be several zones behind.
Visit Darkwater Shore via the downward Waterwheel path for its fishing spot and Eldergrain deposits before continuing upward to Grain Haven.
Fluffweave appears for the first time here. Pick up as much as you can for textile crafting recipes later.
