Starsand Port
Guide to Starsand Port in Starsand Island. Covers the dock and pier area at Half-Moon Bay, the Port Reconstruction quest, Merchant Ship trading, yacht and speedboat rentals, Parrot Ship ferry to deep-sea fishing zones, nearby NPCs and shops, and all activities available at the port.
Starsand Port
Starsand Port is the island's main dock and pier facility, located within Half-Moon Bay on the southern coast of Starsand Island. It is the hub for all water-based travel: yacht and speedboat rentals, the Parrot Ship ferry to deep-sea fishing zones, and the weekly Merchant Ship. The port must be rebuilt early in the game through the Port Reconstruction quest given by Marston, the dock manager. Once operational, it opens up ocean exploration, profitable Merchant Ship trading, and access to three exclusive fishing zones that are unreachable by any other means.
Location
Starsand Port sits on the beach at Half-Moon Bay, the island's southeastern coastal area. It is distinct from the AquaBlue Outpost (Delphin's fishing shop on the right side of the docks) and from G-Power Bike (Neona's vehicle shop on the main road nearby). Two bus stops serve the broader Half-Moon Bay area: the Half-Moon Bay stop and the AquaBlue Outpost stop, both part of the 10-station fast travel network.
The pier extends from the beach with the Parrot Ship on one side and rental boats on the other. Marston's house is on the beach at the corner area of Half-Moon Bay, and a boardwalk runs alongside the shore where NPCs like Aurelis wander during their daily routines.
Port Reconstruction Quest
When you first arrive on the island, Starsand Port is in disrepair. Marston gives you the Port Reconstruction quest to rebuild it.
Detail | Value |
|---|---|
Quest giver | Marston |
Materials required | 15 Stone + 15 Softwood |
Completion | Port opens the next in-game day after turning in materials |
Once the port is rebuilt, you gain access to yacht rentals, the Parrot Ship ferry, and the Merchant Ship dock. This quest feeds into the broader Island Life progression chain:
Port Reconstruction (rebuild the docks with Marston)
Building the Maritime Bureau (unlocks Island Pro rank and the Merchant Ship)
Building Starsand Station (unlocks the bus fast travel network)
Facilities and Services
Merchant Ship
The Merchant Ship docks at the port every Monday with a rotating stock of rare items. Its key feature is that it buys your goods at 200% of their normal value, making it the most profitable place to sell crops, cooked dishes, and crafted goods. The ship operates from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM and its inventory refreshes each week.
For players focused on making money, the Merchant Ship is one of the best income sources in the game. Stockpile your highest-value items throughout the week and sell them in bulk on Monday.
Yacht Rental
You can rent a yacht at the port for 150 Coins per hour of in-game time. The yacht gives you direct player-controlled navigation across the open ocean, letting you explore coastal areas, reach remote fishing spots, and enjoy scenic rides along the island's shores.
Speedboat Rental
A speedboat is available for rent at the end of the pier. After your first rental, you can re-summon the speedboat anywhere via the Travel app on your phone, making it a convenient way to get on the water quickly. You must end your active rental before summoning a new vehicle.
Parrot Ship Ferry
The Parrot Ship provides ferry service to three exclusive deep-sea fishing zones that cannot be reached by swimming, personal boats, or any other method. Speak to the captain at the dock and choose your destination:
Fishing Zone | Notable Fish | Specialty |
|---|---|---|
Coral Sea | Bass, Blue Tang, Humphead Wrasse, Sardine, Swordfish (King) | Daytime reef fishing (8:00-18:00) |
Luminwave | Anglerfish, Megamouth Shark (King), Mola Mola, Tuna, Viperfish | Night fishing (20:00-2:00), deep-sea species |
Celestwave | Dolphinfish, Flounder, Long-barbelled Dragonfish (King), Mandarinfish, Ribbon Eel | Mixed day/night fishing, rare species |
Each zone has five exclusive fish species. The "King" variants (Swordfish, Megamouth Shark, Long-barbelled Dragonfish) are the rarest catches in the game. These zones are essential for completing your Islandpedia fish entries and filling the Aquarium at the AquaBlue Outpost.
Nearby NPCs and Shops
NPC / Shop | Location | Role |
|---|---|---|
Marston | Beach at Half-Moon Bay | Dock manager and lifeguard; gives port and Maritime Bureau quests |
Delphin (AquaBlue Outpost) | Right side of the docks | Angler profession mentor; sells fishing bait, rod blueprints, and aquarium blueprints |
Neona (G-Power Bike) | Main road near Half-Moon Bay | Vehicle shop; sells water vehicle blueprints (Bamboo Raft, Sailboard, Speedboat) |
Merchant Ship vendor | At the dock (Mondays only) | Buys at 200% value; sells rare items |
Parrot Ship captain | At the dock | Ferry service to deep-sea fishing zones |
Delphin's AquaBlue Outpost features an elevator to an ocean observatory below and an Aquarium on the lower level. The Aquarium must be filled with 20 different fish species (3 of each) as part of the Senior Angler certification quest. An electric scooter rental is also available outside the outpost.
Water Vehicles Available
Several water vehicles can be purchased or rented for ocean travel from the port area:
Vehicle | Cost | Source |
|---|---|---|
Yacht (rental) | 150 Coins/hour | Starsand Port dock |
Speedboat (rental) | Varies | End of the pier |
Bamboo Raft (blueprint) | 400 Coins | G-Power Bike (Neona) |
Sailboard (blueprint) | 1,300 Coins | G-Power Bike (Neona) |
Speedboat (blueprint) | 175,000 Coins | G-Power Bike (Neona) |
After purchasing a vehicle blueprint, craft the vehicle at your Worktable and summon it from the Travel app on your phone. Personal boats can be launched from any waterfront area, not just the port.
Activities at the Port
Shore fishing. Multiple fishing spots line the beach around Half-Moon Bay, with 26 ocean species available depending on season, weather, and time of day.
Deep-sea fishing. Take the Parrot Ship to Coral Sea, Luminwave, or Celestwave for exclusive species.
Merchant Ship trading. Sell goods at 200% value every Monday.
Ocean exploration. Rent a yacht or speedboat to explore the coast, find hidden areas, and reach remote fishing spots.
Swimming. Enter the water at spots marked with bubbles along the beach.
Foraging. Shells, flowers, and scattered items spawn along the Half-Moon Bay beach.
Treasure hunting. Several hidden treasure chests are located around the bay and on the pier.
Beach Festival
The port area and Half-Moon Bay serve as the venue for the Beach Festival, the game's major summer event:
Date | Activity |
|---|---|
Summer 25-26 | Preparation days: help NPCs gather materials within a 20-minute time limit |
Summer 27 (8:00 AM) | Crab Herding minigame (near Marston's house, 100 Coins per attempt) |
Summer 27 (10:00 AM) | Offshore Racing (jet ski race with Delphin) |
Summer 27 (12:00 PM) | Beach Festival Market opens (spend Beach Coins on exclusive items) |
Summer 27 (7:00 PM) | Bonfire Party (final event, ends at midnight) |
During preparation days, helping each NPC rewards 200 Coins, 15 Starsand Points, 50 Beach Coins, and 20 Affection. Collecting trash during preparation yields Beach Festival Treasure Maps leading to bonus chests.
Tips
Sell at the Merchant Ship on Mondays. The 200% buy rate makes it far more profitable than any other vendor. Stockpile cooked dishes and valuable crops throughout the week.
Visit deep-sea zones at different times. Luminwave specializes in night fishing (20:00-2:00), while Coral Sea is best during the day (8:00-18:00). Plan your trips accordingly.
Rebuild the port early. The 15 Stone + 15 Softwood cost is trivial. Completing Port Reconstruction quickly unlocks ocean access and the Maritime Bureau quest chain.
Rent a speedboat first, then summon via phone. After your first rental, the Travel app lets you summon the speedboat from anywhere, saving return trips to the pier.
Prepare for the Beach Festival. Stock up on crafting materials (Coal, Iron Ingots, Bronze Ingots, Glass Panes, Hardwood Planks) before Summer 25 to complete the preparation tasks efficiently.
