Overview
Pywel is home to over 217 verified shops spanning more than 25 distinct vendor categories. From the smiths and tailors of Hernand's town square to the underground black markets of criminal factions, every settlement and outpost in Crimson Desert has its own cluster of merchants. Shop availability is tied to story progression, regional Contribution, and faction relations. Settlements under hostile occupation may have few or no vendors until liberated through faction quests.
All shop transactions share the same core rules regardless of vendor type. The universal currency is Copper, with 100 Copper equaling 1 Silver. Every merchant accepts Copper for purchases and pays out Copper or Silver on sales depending on the item's value. The sole exception is Contribution Shops, which accept Contribution Points instead of silver. See the Vendors article for full details on buying and selling mechanics, the Repurchase tab, and vendor trust.

Currency and Pricing
Copper is the baseline currency at every shop in Pywel. The exchange rate across the economy is 100 Copper to 1 Silver, and 100 Silver to 1 Gold Bar. Most standard vendor transactions use Copper and Silver. Banks facilitate currency conversion between denominations and also store Gold Bars in a passive investment system that generates returns over time. For a full breakdown of wealth-building strategies, see the Gold and Currency Guide.
Sale prices are uniform across all vendors. You receive the same amount of currency for a given item regardless of which merchant you sell it to, so there is no benefit to shopping around when offloading goods. The only exception is the Black Market, which accepts stolen items and contraband that legitimate vendors refuse to buy.
Copper: Standard currency, accepted everywhere. See Copper for details.
Silver: Higher denomination; 100 Copper = 1 Silver. See Silver for details.
Gold Bars: Premium currency exchanged at Banks, used for investment.
Contribution Points: Faction-specific currency accepted only at Contribution Shops in the region where those points were earned. See Contribution Points for how to earn them.
NPC Trust and Supply Contracts
Every merchant in Pywel has a hidden NPC Trust value that runs from 0 to 100. As your trust rises, vendors offer better deals and eventually unlock Supply Contracts, which permanently expand the matching shop's stock at Greymane Camp. Supply Contracts come in five categories: Equipment, Food, Outfit, Provisions, and Seed, one set per major region.
There are three ways to build trust with a merchant. Selecting Greet from the interaction menu rewards +5 Trust once per in-game day, so reaching maximum trust through greetings alone takes roughly 20 consecutive days with a single vendor. Giving vendors acceptable gifts (such as Copper Pouches or Silver Pouches looted from bandits) grants larger trust boosts instantly. Completing a vendor's personal requests is the fastest route of all, often granting enough trust to unlock contracts in a single session.
Once maximum trust is reached, the vendor's shop menu displays any available Supply Contracts for purchase. After buying a contract, open your inventory and use the item to activate it. The corresponding camp shop expands immediately. For example, using the Hernandian Cooking Supply Contract (sold by the innkeeper Dahlia in Hernand) adds Pickled Vegetables, Braised Fish, and Pan-Fried Rice Cakes to Ronnie's food stall at camp. Region-specific Supply Contracts are available from vendors in Hernand, Demeniss, Delesyia, Pailune, Varnia, Tommaso, and Calphade.
Supply Contract Types by Region
Region | Food | Outfit | Seed | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Combat and Equipment Vendors
Equipment Shops are the primary source for weapons, armor, shields, and ammunition. Each of the 12 verified locations is staffed by a named merchant, and inventories are tied to the local region and faction. Shops in occupied territory unlock only after liberation.
Tailor's Shops (12 locations) handle cloth and leather armor alongside cosmetic outfit sets. They also sell Outfit Supply Contracts that automatically deliver regional clothing over time. Cannonwrights (3 locations) specialize in firearms, stocking shared cannon ammunition plus a region-exclusive premium cannon model at each shop.
Food, Crafting, and Material Vendors
Provisioner's Shops are the most common shop type in the game, with 17 verified locations across all regions. They carry everyday consumables, gathering tools, and inventory-expanding Small Bags. Inventories restock every in-game midnight (0:00).
Grocer's Shops (7 standard, 3 Wholesale) are the primary source for cooking ingredients: fresh produce, grains, dairy, eggs, and planting seeds. Butcheries (8 locations) supply raw meat cuts for cooking without requiring hunting. Tanners (6 locations) sell animal hides used in crafting and leatherworking recipes.
Mineral Vendors (5 locations) offer raw ores and refined metals for players who prefer purchasing materials over gathering them in the field.
Mount and Travel Vendors
Saddleries (9 locations) carry everything for your horse: consumables, saddles, barding, and champrons. Each shop's inventory includes a shared set of core supplies plus region-specific tack. For a complete overview of mount items, see the Horse Guide.
Trade Managers (10 locations) operate the wagon trading economy, letting players buy packaged trade goods and haul them to different regions for profit. Moving goods between trading posts is the core of the long-haul merchant gameplay loop.
Specialty and Unique Vendors
Fishing Dock Vendors (17 locations) are clustered along coastlines and waterways. They buy and sell fish and always carry at least one Fishing Rod. The Fishing system is closely tied to these coastal merchants.
Dyers (11 locations) each sell a single dye color that, once purchased, is permanently added to the player's palette and can be applied at any Barber Shop and Dyehouse.
Witch's Workshops (4 locations) are attached to each of the four main witches in the game. Every workshop sells exclusive Abyss Gear blueprints, alchemy formulas, and crafting materials not available from general merchants.
Patrigio's Secret Shop is a single rotating vendor that offers rare items unavailable anywhere else in Pywel. His stock changes regularly, making periodic check-ins worthwhile for endgame players.
Three additional unique vendors exist with limited or situational availability: the Mysterious Shop, the Scholastone Brewer, and the Scholastone Research Institute. These appear under specific story or progression conditions and are not available in every playthrough at the same time. Additional Scholastone Shops open as you advance through the Scholastone storyline.
Social and Housing Vendors
Taverns (9 locations) double as social hubs and shops. Each tavern merchant sells food, drink, basic supplies, and in some cases exclusive cooking recipes or Food Supply Contracts. Taverns are also where Kliff gathers local information during story chapters.
Churches (10 locations) operate small shops alongside their religious functions. Church vendors are the only source for Holy Water and sell Small Bags at a consistent price. Nine of the ten church shops carry the same two-item inventory.
Furniture Shops (5 locations) and Decorative Stone Merchants (2 locations) cover decoration and housing needs. The Art Dealer (Reynard) offers paintings and art pieces for camp and home interiors, priced in Copper, including affordable Study-tier and premium Acclaimed-tier works.
Underground Economy
Not all transactions happen in the open. The Black Market is a network of 16 vendors operating outside the law across Pywel. Unlike standard shops, these merchants buy stolen goods, unpackaged trade goods, poached livestock, and stolen wagons that legitimate vendors refuse to touch. Prices are often lower, and the risk of attracting attention is real. You can also find Smugglers and Black Markets at trading posts such as the Goldleaf Trading Post, which specialize in unpackaged trade goods.
Camp Vendors
Camp Vendors are the six dedicated merchants permanently stationed at Greymane Camp. Each handles a specific category: furniture, seeds, jewelry, horse supplies, and general goods. They are accessible whenever the camp is established and are a convenient one-stop for common supplies without traveling to a city. Their inventories can be expanded significantly by activating Supply Contracts purchased from high-trust vendors in each region. See the Camp Expansion Guide for tips on building up the camp shop roster.
Shopping Tips
Restock at midnight. All vendor inventories refresh at in-game midnight (0:00). Plan shopping trips for limited-stock items (bags, hides, meat, rare ingredients) just after midnight.
Use the Repurchase tab. Sold an item by mistake? Open the same vendor's Repurchase menu within roughly two to three in-game days to buy it back at the original price. Items can only be repurchased from the vendor you sold them to.
Build trust with merchants. Greeting a vendor daily (+5 Trust per visit) and completing their quests unlocks Supply Contracts that expand that shop's permanent inventory. See the NPC Trust System article for the full trust mechanics.
Visit every region. Vendor inventories vary by region. Equipment, armor, and horse tack in Hernand differ from stock in Demeniss or Delesyia. Exploring new settlements is the only way to access region-exclusive items.
Liberate occupied settlements. Shops in faction-controlled territory are locked until you complete the liberation questline for that area. Prioritizing liberation opens access to additional vendors and trade goods.
Check Contribution Shops separately. Contribution Points are region-specific and cannot be spent at shops outside the region where they were earned. Keep track of which region's points you are accumulating. See How to Increase Contribution for farming tips.
Street Vendors have no buyback. Wandering Street Vendors do not have a Repurchase tab. Any item sold to a Street Vendor is gone permanently. Double-check your inventory before confirming any sale at a street stall.
