Overview
Patrigio is a secret wandering merchant who operates exclusively at night in the world of Pywel. Unlike the fixed vendors found in settlements, Patrigio roams the roads between Spring Tide Mill and Howling Hill camp, and only appears during the hours of 22:00 to 07:00 in World Time. Because he moves along a route rather than standing at a stall, finding him requires knowing both his path and his schedule.

His shop, known as Patrigio's Secret Shop, uses Copper as its currency rather than Silver. This makes it accessible at any stage of the game, since Copper is the smallest denomination in the currency system (100 Copper equals 1 Silver). The shop stocks rare and useful items including Abyss Artifacts, crafting ores, alchemy herbs, and a high-value collectible artwork piece.
Patrigio becomes available after the start of Chapter 3. Before that point, he does not appear in the world regardless of the time of day. Once he unlocks, he is one of the few vendors that sells Abyss Artifacts directly, making him especially valuable for players who want to level up their skills without grinding the XP bar or hunting Sealed Artifact locations.
Finding Patrigio
Patrigio walks a fixed route between Spring Tide Mill and Howling Hill camp. The most reliable method for intercepting him is to use an inn to sleep until approximately 23:00 in-game time, then travel the road connecting the two landmarks. He moves slowly enough that walking toward him while he walks toward you will typically produce an encounter within a few minutes.
A few practical notes for finding him:
He is only present during the 22:00 to 07:00 window in World Time. If you arrive during daylight hours, he will not be there.
His route covers the area between Spring Tide Mill and Howling Hill, so check both endpoints and the road in between if you do not spot him immediately.
Sleeping at an inn is the fastest way to advance to nighttime. Inns are available in all major settlements.
Patrigio appears as a vendor NPC with a distinct shop icon on the minimap once you are close enough. Keep an eye on the minimap when traveling the route.
Shop Inventory
Patrigio's Secret Shop carries seven items, all priced in Copper. The shop inventory is finite and does not restock once items are purchased, so buy what you need before the stock runs dry.
Item | Price (Copper) | Category | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
38 | Crafting Material | Refined crystal used in crafting and refinement recipes | |
7,000 | Collectible | Decorative artwork that reacts to motion and light; can be placed in your home at Greymane Camp or Personal Home | |
120 | Alchemy Ingredient | Herb used in alchemy recipes | |
300 | Alchemy Ingredient | ||
18 | Ore | Common refinement material; also sold by blacksmiths and found via mining | |
45 | Ore | Refinement material used in weapon and armor upgrades | |
2,850 | Skill Item | Grants skill points; one of the few direct-purchase sources in the game |

The Kinetic Counterweight at 7,000 Copper (70 Silver) is the most expensive item in the shop. It is classified as collectible artwork and serves a decorative rather than combat purpose. Players looking to furnish their personal home or Greymane Camp space will find it here. It is also one of the early-game items that provides solid resale value if you prefer the Silver over the decoration.
The Abyss Artifact at 2,850 Copper (28.5 Silver) is the shop's most strategically valuable item. Abyss Artifacts are used to unlock skills on your character sheet, and earning them through normal gameplay requires either filling the enemy-kill XP bar, completing story missions, or locating Sealed Artifact spots across the map. Buying directly from Patrigio is faster, though the inventory is limited.
Building Trust and Unlocking The Claw
Patrigio has a trust meter like all other vendors and NPCs in the world. When you reach a trust level of 100 with him, he rewards you with The Claw, a unique auto-reel Fishing Rod that is not available from any other source. The Claw automatically reels in fish once a bite is detected, making fishing significantly more passive.
The most efficient way to build trust with Patrigio is by giving him Decent Copper Pouches as gifts. Each pouch adds 5 trust points, meaning 20 pouches bring him to maximum trust. Copper Pouches are a common drop from bandit camps and enemy patrols, so you can stockpile them through normal combat without spending any Silver.
Method | Trust Gained | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Daily greeting (speaking to him) | +5 per day | Works each in-game day; requires finding him each night |
Gifting a Decent Copper Pouch | +5 per pouch | Most efficient method; farmable from bandits |
Completing his requests | Varies | Specific requests may appear as you interact with him over time |
To reach trust 100 via pouches alone, you need 20 Decent Copper Pouches. You can also combine daily greetings and pouch gifts to reach 100 across multiple encounters. Once trust hits 100, Patrigio hands over The Claw directly in dialogue rather than listing it in the shop. The rod does not appear in his inventory before that point, so there is no way to purchase it early.
Currency Notes
All of Patrigio's prices are in Copper, which is the smallest unit in Crimson Desert's three-tier currency system. The conversion rate is 100 Copper equals 1 Silver, and 500 Silver equals 1 Gold Bar. For reference, here is what his higher-priced items cost when expressed in Silver:
Item | Copper Price | |
|---|---|---|
38 Copper | 0.38 Silver | |
120 Copper | 1.20 Silver | |
18 Copper | 0.18 Silver | |
45 Copper | 0.45 Silver | |
300 Copper | 3.00 Silver | |
2,850 Copper | 28.50 Silver | |
7,000 Copper | 70.00 Silver |
Most items in the shop are quite affordable in Silver terms, making Patrigio's shop worth visiting even early in the game. The Abyss Artifact at 28.50 Silver is in line with what Witch vendors charge for the same item, so neither source is definitively cheaper. The main advantage of buying from Patrigio is that he is accessible from Chapter 3 onward, whereas Witch vendors unlock from Chapter 5.

Tips
Visit Patrigio as early as Chapter 3 if you want to get ahead on Abyss Artifacts. His stock is limited, so buying out his supply before the Chapter 5 Witch vendors unlock is a solid early investment.
Start gifting him Decent Copper Pouches on your first encounter. The pouches drop freely from bandits, so you likely already have some in your inventory. Getting to trust 100 as fast as possible unlocks The Claw fishing rod, which makes the Fishing system much more convenient.
If you plan to furnish your home at Greymane Camp, the Kinetic Counterweight is a unique decorative piece only available from Patrigio. There is no other way to obtain it once his stock is gone.
Iron Ore and Copper Ore are sold here at low Copper prices if you are short on refinement materials before a blacksmith visit. However, these ores are also obtainable through mining, so buy from Patrigio only if you need them urgently.
You can combine daily greeting trust gains with pouch gifts. If you encounter him on multiple nights before you have 20 pouches, greet him each time to add 5 trust per visit.
Patrigio's route is predictable. If you set a waypoint between Spring Tide Mill and Howling Hill and ride at midnight, you will cross his path most nights.
