Cooking Ingredients
Cooking Ingredients are the basic staple materials used in Cooking recipes throughout Crimson Desert. Unlike raw produce such as vegetables, fruits, and meats, these ingredients serve as foundational components that appear across many different recipes. They include everyday pantry items like Salt, Sugar, and Cooking Oil, as well as animal products like Egg, Milk, and Cheese. Most cooking ingredients can be purchased from vendors in towns and settlements, though some can also be gathered or produced from livestock.
Cooking Ingredients fall under the broader Crafting Materials category and are classified as a sub-type of Gatherables. Players will need a steady supply of these items to cook stat-boosting meals and recovery foods at campfires and cooking stations.

Where to Find Cooking Ingredients
The majority of cooking ingredients are sold by general goods vendors found in towns across Hernand and the surrounding regions. Towns like Root Hold and other major settlements typically stock a full selection of these basic ingredients. Vendors restock their supplies periodically, so players should check back regularly if a particular ingredient is out of stock.
Some ingredients can also be gathered directly from the world. Honey is found at wild beehives in forested areas, Red Seaweed grows along coastal rocks, Eggs can be picked up from chicken coops, and Water can be collected from wells. These free sources provide a useful alternative to spending Bells at shops.
Uses
Cooking ingredients are used exclusively in the Cooking system. By combining these base ingredients with raw produce (fruits, vegetables, meats), players can prepare meals at campfires and cooking stations. Cooked meals provide a variety of benefits, including health regeneration, stamina recovery, temporary stat boosts, and resistance buffs. Higher-tier recipes often require multiple cooking ingredients alongside rarer produce and meats.
Because these ingredients appear in so many recipes, it is a good idea to keep a stock of Salt, Water, and Cooking Oil at all times. These three appear in the largest number of recipes across all cooking categories.
Tips
Buy ingredients in bulk whenever visiting a town to avoid running out while exploring remote areas.
Honey and Red Seaweed are the only cooking ingredients that must be gathered rather than purchased from most vendors, so prioritize collecting them when you pass through forests and coastal zones.
Some cooking recipes grant experience toward cooking mastery challenges, so using these ingredients regularly contributes to overall progression.
