Overview
Saddleries are specialized shops found throughout Pywel that sell horse care consumables, riding tack, and protective mount gear. Unlike general-purpose vendors, every saddlery carries the same core selection of consumables alongside a region-specific range of saddles, barding, champrons, stirrups, and horseshoes. There are nine saddlery and stable locations in Crimson Desert, each staffed by a named merchant.
Saddleries are the primary source for feeding items such as Hay, Sugar Beet, and Sugar Cubes, all of which are used to raise your horse's trust level through feeding. Horse Tonic sold at these locations replenishes mount stamina during long rides. For a full guide on raising horse trust through feeding and riding, see How to Level up Your Horse.
Most saddleries become available as Macduff liberates new settlements and advances the main story. The Varnia Stable and Equinsher Saddlery are notably smaller locations with only five items each, while the Delesyia Saddlery is the largest with sixteen items including the exclusive Delesyian Barding. For an overview of all vendor types across every region, see the Vendor Directory.

30 | Consumable. Restores mount stamina. Useful on long rides or before combat. | |
Varies | Mount gear. Equips to horse feet slot. Multiple grades available. | |
Varies | Mount gear. Equips to horse back slot. Improves rider stability and stats. |

Calphade Saddlery
The Calphade Saddlery is run by merchant Driana and carries 12 items. The inventory follows the standard saddlery template: Hay (15), Sugar Beet (10), Sugar Cubes (12), and Horse Tonic (30) cover the consumable side, while a selection of horseshoes and saddles rounds out the stock. Calphade's saddlery serves players operating in or passing through the Calphade region and is a convenient resupply point for mount care items without needing to travel back to a larger hub.
Delesyia Saddlery
The Delesyia Saddlery is the largest saddlery in Crimson Desert, with 16 items available from merchant Randelle. Beyond the core consumables and standard tack, Randelle stocks the exclusive Delesyian Barding, a region-specific protective covering for horses tied to Delesyia's military and academic identity. The shop also carries a wider horseshoe selection than most other saddleries. Players reaching Delesyia for the first time should visit Randelle early, as the Delesyian Barding is not sold elsewhere and offers meaningful defensive value for mounted travel and combat.
The 16-item count makes Delesyia Saddlery the best single-stop saddlery in the game if you are in the region. Stock up on Horse Tonic and Sugar Cubes here before heading into the more contested areas surrounding Delesyia.
Demeniss Saddlery
Fiona operates the Demeniss Saddlery, which stocks 13 items. The expanded count compared to the 12-item standard saddleries reflects a slightly broader tack selection. The Demeniss region is associated with its own set of mount gear including the Demenissian Barding, Demenissian Champron, Demenissian Saddle, and Demenissian Stirrups. Fiona's saddlery is the local resupply point for mount consumables for players progressing through the Demeniss chapter.
Equinsher Saddlery
The Equinsher Saddlery is staffed by Gideon and carries only 5 items, making it one of the two smallest saddlery locations alongside the Varnia Stable. Located east-southeast of Hernand in the Serkis lands, the saddlery functions as a specialist outpost rather than a full supply depot. The compact inventory is targeted at players who need specific tack items rather than a broad resupply. Because it is close to Hernand, the full-service Hernand Saddlery is the better choice for stocking up on consumables, while Equinsher Saddlery covers niche gear needs.
Hernand Saddlery
Grantham runs the Hernand Saddlery, which stocks the standard 12-item complement of consumables, horseshoes, and saddles. As one of the first saddleries accessible to new players in the Hernand area, this shop is where most players first purchase Hay and Sugar Cubes for horse trust building. The standard stack sizes of 15 Hay, 10 Sugar Beet, 12 Sugar Cubes, and 30 Horse Tonic make it straightforward to load up on everything needed to start leveling your mount. Grantham's shop restocks at in-game midnight like all other saddleries.
Pailune Saddlery
The Pailune Saddlery is operated by Brynna and carries 12 items. Pailune is one of the larger regional hubs in Crimson Desert, and the saddlery there serves travelers converging on the city from multiple directions. The inventory matches the standard 12-item layout with core consumables and a baseline tack selection. Players who are already visiting Pailune for its equipment shop or provisioner can combine their shopping runs without detouring.
Tommaso Saddlery
Marcus runs the Tommaso Saddlery, which mirrors the standard 12-item layout found at Hernand, Pailune, and Calphade. The saddlery serves the Tommaso region and is a useful waypoint for players traversing that area who need to restock Horse Tonic before a long ride or clear out expired Sugar Cubes from their bags. The consistent stock across 12-item saddleries means players can expect Hay, Sugar Beet, Sugar Cubes, Horse Tonic, horseshoes, and saddles at Marcus's counter without needing to check ahead.
Varnia Saddlery
Aldric operates the Varnia Saddlery with 13 items, one more than the standard 12-item saddleries. The Varnia region has its own associated mount gear, and Aldric's extra slot likely reflects a region-specific tack item beyond the core consumable-and-gear baseline. The Varnia region sits alongside the Varnia Stable, making it one of two saddlery-type locations in the same area. The Varnia Saddlery is the better-stocked of the two, covering consumables and gear, while the adjacent Varnia Stable (Roderick) handles a smaller specialized role.
Varnia Stable
The Varnia Stable is staffed by Roderick and carries only 5 items, matching the compact Equinsher Saddlery as the smallest saddlery-type location. The stable format suggests a focus on mount boarding and basic care rather than a full gear shop. Players in the Varnia area who need a broad resupply should visit the Varnia Saddlery (Aldric) first and use the Varnia Stable for targeted purchases from Roderick's limited five-item stock.
How Saddleries Work
All saddleries in Crimson Desert share the same core mechanics. Understanding these rules helps you plan purchases and avoid waste.
Midnight restock. Consumable items such as Hay, Sugar Beet, Sugar Cubes, and Horse Tonic replenish every in-game midnight. If you buy out the stack, sleep or wait at a fire until midnight to buy again.
Repurchase tab. Items you sell to a saddlery merchant appear in a buyback menu for a limited time. The buyback price is higher than your sale price, so avoid selling valuable tack by accident.
Story-gated access. Saddleries in faction-controlled or late-game regions become available only after liberating the area or reaching the relevant story chapter. The Equinsher Saddlery and some late-region locations may be locked behind progress gates.
Uniform sale prices. The price you receive for selling items is the same at every saddlery. There is no benefit to comparing merchants when selling unwanted gear.
Horse gear slots. Horses have four equipment slots: back (saddle), head (champron), feet (horseshoes), and body (barding). Saddleries stock items for all four slots across various quality tiers.
Horse Care Tips
Buy Horse Tonic in bulk. Horse Tonic stacks to 30 per purchase and is the fastest way to restore mount stamina mid-ride. The 30-unit stack at a single saddlery visit is usually enough for an extended session.
Use Sugar Cubes for quick trust gains. If you want to push your horse from one trust level to the next quickly, feed Sugar Cubes rather than Hay. Sugar Cubes and Sugar Beet provide higher trust per feeding action than basic Hay.
Visit Delesyia Saddlery for the widest selection. With 16 items, Randelle's shop is the best combined gear-and-consumable stop in the game. Plan a visit when traveling through Delesyia to pick up the exclusive Delesyian Barding.
Combine shopping runs at hubs. Cities like Hernand, Pailune, and Delesyia each have a saddlery alongside equipment shops, grocers, and provisioners. Do all your shopping in one stop rather than making separate trips.
Check mount gear tier before buying. Horseshoes, saddles, champrons, barding, and stirrups come in multiple quality tiers. Compare the stats on your current gear before spending silver on an upgrade at a saddlery.
Equinsher and Varnia Stable are niche stops. The five-item inventories at these two locations are best used for targeted purchases of a specific tack item rather than general resupply. For consumables, go to the nearest full-size saddlery instead.

Special Mount Saddle Vendors (Patch 1.06.00)
Patch 1.06.00 added saddles for the new Special Mounts line. Saddles for each species are sold across the existing saddlery network, with a few new vendors added next to specific tame zones. The directory below lists every confirmed vendor for the 1.06.00 saddles. The bear, raptor, and camel lines reuse the standard regional saddleries documented above. The giant iguana saddle and the leaping kuku bird saddle introduce new vendor locations tied to where each mount is captured.
Saddle | Mount | Vendor and Notes | Region |
|---|---|---|---|
Brown Bear Saddle | Araminta, Pailune saddlery. | Pailune. | |
Brown Bear Saddle | Saddler near the Hernand main town stable. | Hernand. | |
Brown Bear Saddle | Calphade saddlery (cross-stocked alongside the kuku bird saddle). | Calphade. | |
Clawed Bear Saddle | Same bear-saddle line as the Brown Bear. Hernand, Pailune, and Calphade saddleries all sell it. | Hernand, Pailune, Calphade. | |
White Bear Saddle | Bear-saddle line; check the Pailune and Hernand saddleries first. | Hernand, Pailune. | |
Giant Iguana Saddle | Tash Kalpha tannery / saddle vendor located next to the fighting pit (the same town where you steal the iguana from the pit). | Tash Kalpha (Crimson Desert). | |
Leaping Kuku Bird Saddle | Drieghan-region saddle vendor. Patch notes list the Calphade saddlery as a second confirmed source. | Drieghan, Calphade. | |
Tiger Saddle | Large-cat saddle line; sold at the saddleries closest to the Demenissia and Delesyia belt where the tiger pride spawns. | Demenissia, Delesyia. | |
Lion Saddle | Large-cat saddle line; check the Varnia and Demenissia saddleries. | Varnia, Demenissia. | |
Red-Feathered Raptor Saddle | Raptor-saddle line; stocked at the saddleries serving the Tash Kalpha and Hernand belts. | Hernand, Tash Kalpha. | |
Sandwalk Camel Saddle | Camel-saddle line; check the Varnia saddlery first. | Varnia. |
Each saddle is species-specific. Equipping a Brown Bear saddle on a Clawed Bear works because both share the bear-saddle line, but a bear saddle cannot be slotted onto a Tiger or Giant Iguana. The same applies to the rideable wolf variants documented in the next section.
If a mount is registered before a saddle is purchased, the Special Mount appears bare-back in the world. The saddle slot is filled from the Special Mounts inventory tab once the corresponding saddle has been bought. Saddles can be unequipped per Patch 1.06.00, so the bare-back look remains available even after the saddle has been acquired.
Wolf Saddle Vendors (Patch 1.07.00)
Patch 1.07.00 added the Large Wolf and Large White Wolf to the rideable roster, both registerable as permanent Special Mounts. The wolf saddle that fits these species is sold at two locations near Hernand.
Vendor Location | Region | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Hernand main town stable | [object Object] | The main saddlery on the north side of the city stocks the wolf saddle alongside its standard horse tack inventory. Most convenient for players already operating in the Hernand questline area. |
[object Object] | Near the Greyman camp. Carries the same wolf saddle. Useful for players returning to camp without needing to detour to the main town. |
Both vendors stock the same wolf saddle, so pick whichever site is closer to your current play loop. The saddle slot is shared across rideable wolf species, so a single purchase covers both the Large Wolf and the Large White Wolf on the same character.
For the full special-mount saddle directory across all species (wolves, bears, mountain goats, deer, kuku birds, iguanas, camels, warthogs), see All Saddles and Special Mounts.
Notes on Pricing
Bear saddles are confirmed at 3 Silver at the Hernand saddlery in patch notes. Wolf-saddle prices are not currently confirmed in the official patch notes; the figures shown in some community videos are tentative. Once Pearl Abyss publishes a pricing table this section should be updated with the verified value.
