Overview
Equipment Shops are specialized vendor locations found throughout Pywel that sell weapons, armor, shields, raw materials, and ammunition directly to the player. Unlike general-purpose traders, equipment shop merchants carry a focused selection of combat gear tied to the local region, faction, or military organization. Each shop is staffed by a named merchant, and in some locations two merchants share the same counter and pool their inventories.
Equipment shops become available as Macduff liberates new settlements and completes story milestones. Shops inside faction estates such as House Lanford, House Serkis, House Alfonso, and House Wells typically stock region-specific gear not sold elsewhere. For general buying and selling rules, currency conversion, and repurchase mechanics, see the Vendors article. For a full region-by-region directory of every merchant type, see the Vendor Directory.
How Equipment Shops Work
All equipment shops in Crimson Desert operate under the same core mechanics. Opening the trade window with any equipment merchant lets you browse their stock, purchase items immediately, and sell unwanted gear from your inventory. A few rules apply across every shop:
Midnight restock. Shop inventories refresh every in-game midnight. Limited-stock items such as bags, ammunition, and rare crafting materials replenish at that time.
Repurchase tab. Items you sell to a merchant appear in a buyback menu for a limited period. The buyback price is higher than what you received for the sale, so avoid selling equipment by accident.
Uniform sale prices. You receive the same currency amount for any given item regardless of which merchant you sell it to. There is no benefit to comparing offers when selling.
Story-gated access. Some shops only open after liberating the surrounding area through faction quests or reaching a certain chapter. A shop listed in the directory below may be unavailable early in the game.
Supply Contract items. Several equipment shops sell regional Supply Contracts that grant automatic gear deliveries. These are one-time purchases and do not restock.

Hernand Equipment Shop
The Hernand Equipment Shop is the first equipment shop most players encounter, located in the starting region near Greymane Camp. It is staffed by two merchants, Rhett and Lederson, who together offer 25 items. The shop carries starter-tier weapons including the Glenmore Sword, Bekker Dagger, Bekker Greataxe, Bekker Bow, Grace Rapier, Balton Hammer, Rhett's Longsword, and the Jemel Pistol. The complete Canta Plate armor set (helm, armor, cloak, gloves, and boots) is available here alongside the Bekker Shield and Kite Shield.
Beyond combat gear, the Hernand shop sells basic resources such as Iron Ore and Copper Ore, as well as Bloodstone, Stone, Arrow, Bullet, Small Cannonball, and a Small Bag. The Equipment Supply Contract - Hernand is also sold here as a one-time purchase. Prices range from 2 copper for Arrows up to 604 silver for the Bekker Bow and Kite Shield. This shop is a reliable early-game source for both projectile ammunition and entry-level melee weapons.

Delesyia National Institute Equipment Shop
The Delesyia National Institute Equipment Shop is staffed by Harlan and carries only four items, each a different tier of Visione. Visiones are specialized optical devices with combat or utility applications. The four tiers available are Bespoke Visione (15,000), Guard Visione (25,000), Military Visione (35,000), and Prototype Visione (50,000). The high price tags reflect the Institute's academic and military ties, and this shop is intended for mid-to-late game players with sufficient silver stockpiles.
Pailune Equipment Shop
Pailune's equipment shop is the largest in the game by item count, offering 29 items through two merchants, Graydon and Karell. The dual-merchant setup allows the shop to cover a wider range of gear categories than single-merchant locations. Players traveling to Pailune for the first time are encouraged to check both merchants' tabs, as some items appear under one merchant but not the other depending on progression state. The shop's broad selection makes Pailune a worthwhile stop when upgrading gear between major story chapters.
House Faction Equipment Shops
Four of the major noble houses each operate their own equipment shop. These shops stock gear that reflects the house's regional identity and fighting style. Access to each shop is typically tied to completing the corresponding faction quest line or reaching an alliance with that house.
House Lanford Equipment Shop (Merchant: Quentin, 7 items): Sells the Rising Arrow Shield, Tardik Shield, Iron Ore, Copper Ore, and a small selection of weapons. The Rising Arrow and Tardik shields are only available here and are strong mid-game options for defensive builds.
House Serkis Equipment Shop (Merchant: Dirk, 7 items): Carries region-specific combat gear. Dirk's stock reflects House Serkis's military background and includes weapons and armor suited to the Serkis territory.
House Alfonso Equipment Shop (Merchant: Hector, 9 items): The largest of the four faction shops by item count. Hector sells a mix of weapons and armor tied to House Alfonso's estate and surrounding region.
House Wells Equipment Shop (Merchant: Grant, 7 items): Stocks equipment associated with House Wells and its holdings. Grant's inventory shifts as the house's territory is stabilized through story events.
Kharonso Equipment Shop
The Kharonso Equipment Shop is a small six-item shop run by Maeron. Kharonso is a more remote settlement, and the shop's compact inventory reflects the limited supply lines reaching the area. Players passing through Kharonso on the way to other objectives should check Maeron's stock, as the shop occasionally carries materials useful for crafting that are harder to source elsewhere in the region.
Odeck Equipment Shop
Brannox runs the Odeck Equipment Shop and keeps a nine-item inventory focused on regional armor and weapons. Odeck's coastal or port context means the shop leans toward gear suited for the surrounding environment. Nine items is a mid-sized inventory for a single-merchant shop, giving players reasonable options without the breadth of larger hubs like Pailune.
Sage of the Desert Equipment Shop
The Sage of the Desert Equipment Shop is one of the smallest in the game, with only three items available from merchant Aran. Its extremely limited inventory suggests a highly specialized role, and the items sold here are expected to be rare or desert-region-specific. Players exploring the desert biome should seek out Aran's location to confirm what is currently in stock.
Skoghorn Equipment Shop
Falric manages the Skoghorn Equipment Shop's ten-item selection. Skoghorn's inventory covers both weapons and armor appropriate to the northern or wilderness setting of the region. With ten items, the shop offers enough variety to outfit a character passing through the area without needing to backtrack to a major hub.
Stronghelm Forge Equipment Shop
The Stronghelm Forge Equipment Shop is run by Grimmjaw and carries only four items. As the name suggests, the shop is attached to or near a forge, and its stock skews toward items with crafting or smithing relevance. Grimmjaw's compact inventory is best treated as a supplement to the forge's own services rather than a primary shopping stop.
Additional Shop Locations
Several additional equipment shop locations exist in Crimson Desert beyond the twelve listed above. The Demeniss Equipment Shop, Delesyia Equipment Shop (distinct from the National Institute shop), Calphade Equipment Shop, Tariv Equipment Shop, Tommaso Equipment Shop, and Varnia Equipment Shop have all been identified as valid shop locations. Detailed merchant names and full inventories for these shops are still being documented as the game continues to receive updates and as more of the world is explored. Check back for updates as information becomes available.
Shopping Tips
Visit the Hernand shop early. The Hernand Equipment Shop opens in the first chapter and provides everything needed to survive the early game, including ammunition, basic shields, and starter weapons. Buy a Small Bag here as soon as possible to expand carrying capacity.
Prioritize faction shops when unlocking new regions. Each house faction shop stocks gear that cannot be found at general shops. Completing the allied faction's quest line to unlock the shop is almost always worth doing before moving to the next story chapter.
Pailune is the best mid-game hub. With 29 items and two merchants, the Pailune Equipment Shop is the strongest single shopping stop in the game. Plan a visit when transitioning between major story arcs.
Visione requires large silver reserves. The four Visione tiers at the Delesyia National Institute Equipment Shop are expensive (15,000 to 50,000). Save silver from enemy drops and side quests before visiting Harlan.
Check the repurchase tab before leaving. If you sell gear and change your mind, return to the same merchant's repurchase tab. The window stays open for a limited time, after which the item is gone permanently.
Materials restock nightly. Iron Ore, Copper Ore, Bloodstone, and similar crafting materials sold by equipment merchants replenish at in-game midnight. If you need large quantities, buy out the stock and sleep to midnight to buy again.
