What Is Contribution?
Contribution is Crimson Desert's reputation system. Every helpful action you perform in a region fills a Contribution bar. Each time the bar fills completely, you gain a Contribution level for that region, and you receive Contribution Points that can be spent at the local Contribution Shop on exclusive gear and rewards.
Contribution is tracked per region. Earning reputation in Hernand does not affect your standing in Demeniss or any other area. You need to build Contribution separately in each region you visit.
How to Earn Contribution
Faction Quests (Best Method)
Completing Faction Quests is the fastest and most efficient way to earn Contribution Points. Bounties in particular are quick to finish and award a large number of points relative to the time they take. Check the Faction Quests tab every time you return to a settlement and accept everything available.
Main and Side Quests
Every quest tied to a region's storyline awards Contribution upon completion. This includes main story quests, side quests, and NPC requests like cooking food for Renee or delivering supplies.
Liberating Strongholds
Clearing bandit camps, enemy fortifications, and landmarks occupied by hostile forces awards large chunks of Contribution. The countryside is full of these encounters, and liberating them serves double duty by also providing loot and unlocking new merchants.
Giving Coins to Beggars
You can donate coins to beggars in cities and settlements once per in-game day. Each donation provides a small Contribution boost. Over time, maxing out a beggar's trust can reward bonus items like bread. This is not the fastest method, but it adds up steadily with no combat required.
Helping Citizens
Random encounters where you defend citizens from bandit attacks also award Contribution. These events happen organically as you travel the roads and do not appear in your quest log.
Actions That Reduce Contribution
Criminal actions reduce your regional Contribution. Stealing items deducts 5 points per item, and killing an innocent NPC incurs an immediate 30 point penalty. If your crime triggers a wanted status, the penalties stack quickly. Avoid theft and violence against civilians if you want to maintain your reputation.
Important: If you lose Contribution levels by committing too many crimes, regaining those levels later will not re-award the Contribution Points you originally earned. You only receive points when you exceed your previous highest level for the first time.
The Contribution Shop
Each region has its own Contribution Shop run by a regional vendor. These shops sell exclusive armor, accessories, and other items that cannot be obtained anywhere else. In the Hernand region, the Contribution Shop is located inside Hernand Castle.
Shop inventory varies by region, with each area offering gear suited to the challenges found there.
Early-game purchases like the Bolton Plate armor set provide meaningful stat upgrades for the chapters ahead.
The Hernandian Noble's Cloak (19 Contribution Points) offers Ice Resistance Level 3, making it excellent for cold regions.
Tips
Focus on bounties and faction quests for the fastest Contribution gains.
Liberate every bandit camp and stronghold you find while exploring; the Contribution rewards are large.
Avoid stealing items. The 5 point penalty per item adds up fast and is not worth the risk.
Donate to beggars daily for a small but free Contribution boost with zero risk.
Check the Contribution Shop in each new region as soon as you arrive to see what rewards are available.
