Values
Complete guide to the Values system in inZOI: the 10 dynamic values (Coexistence, Safety, Rule-Abiding, Traditionalist, Accomplishment, Autonomy, Pleasure, Authority, Love, Challenger) measured on a 0–100 scale that emerge through gameplay, how a Core Value unlocks unique interactions and Urge-based Mew rewards when it exceeds 60 points, and how repeated actions shift values over time.
Values are dynamic, ever-changing aspects of a Zoi's personality that reflect their morals and beliefs. Unlike Traits (which are permanent and chosen during character creation), Values cannot be selected in Create a Zoi. Instead, they develop organically through what a Zoi does in Story Mode. Each of the 10 Values is tracked on a scale of 0 to 100. A Value that climbs high enough begins actively shaping a Zoi's behavior, and the highest-scoring Value becomes their Core Value, granting special gameplay rewards.
How the Values System Works
Every Zoi starts with Values influenced by their Traits and Desired Lives, which provide an initial head start toward certain Values. But Values are not set permanently at creation; they rise and fall based on the actions the Zoi repeatedly takes throughout their life.
The key threshold is 60 points. Once any Value reaches 60 or higher, it becomes active and begins influencing the Zoi's wants and choices. The Value with the highest score becomes the Zoi's Core Value, the single most important principle currently guiding their personality.
Core Value status grants three distinct benefits:
Unique social interactions: Value-specific conversations and social actions become available that are not accessible without a Core Value.
Value-based actions: Certain behaviors tied directly to the Core Value become available in the interaction menu.
Urge rewards: Urges that align with the Core Value generate Mew Coins when fulfilled. These Mew Coins can be spent in the Meow Store on items such as skill growth rate boosters and temporary immunity to illness.
If a Zoi consistently acts against their current Core Value (for example, a Zoi with a high Love value who repeatedly isolates and ghosts their relationships), that Value will slowly decrease, and a different Value with more recent reinforcement may take over as the Core Value.

How Values Change
Values increase or decrease based on the type of actions a Zoi repeatedly performs over time. Consistent behavior in one direction builds a value steadily; inconsistent behavior causes smaller fluctuations.
Value | Increased By | Decreased By |
|---|---|---|
Coexistence | Interacting with plants and animals, attending community events, helping others, participating in festivals | Social isolation, consistently antisocial behavior, neglecting nature-related activities |
Authority | Career promotions, winning competitions, asserting leadership in social situations | Being passed over, deferring to others constantly, avoiding leadership |
Safety | Fulfilling responsibilities on time, maintaining routines, avoiding risky decisions | Committing crimes, taking reckless actions, breaking from established routines |
Challenger | Exploring new locations, trying new activities, taking calculated risks, breaking from routine | Settling into rigid daily routines, avoiding change |
Accomplishment | Mastering skills, achieving career milestones, completing Desired Life goals | Failing repeatedly, avoiding goal-oriented activity |
Autonomy | Making independent decisions, pursuing personal goals without relying on others | Constantly deferring to group decisions, overly dependent behavior |
Rule-Abiding | Obeying laws, following social norms, paying bills on time | Committing crimes, breaking social rules, acting against the justice system |
Love | Deepening romantic and family bonds, supporting loved ones, maintaining close relationships | Picking fights, constantly cheating on a partner, neglecting family |
Pleasure | Regularly satisfying the Fun need, attending entertainment events, indulging in leisure | Monotonous work-only routines, consistently ignoring fun and enjoyment |
Traditionalist | Honoring cultural customs, attending traditional events, maintaining heritage practices | Constantly pursuing unconventional and rebellious behavior |
Values and Traits
While Values are not selected during Character Creation, a Zoi's Trait provides a meaningful head start. Each Trait is associated with four Values that the Trait naturally steers the Zoi toward through the behaviors the trait encourages. For example:
Perfectionist: Naturally trends toward Coexistence, Rule-Abiding, Accomplishment, and Traditionalist, reflecting their orderly, principled nature.
Adventurer: Naturally trends toward Challenger, Accomplishment, Pleasure, and Authority, reflecting their bold, experience-seeking drive.
Volunteer: Naturally trends toward Coexistence, Rule-Abiding, Traditionalist, and Love, reflecting their altruistic, community-focused nature.
Go-Getter: Naturally trends toward Accomplishment, Autonomy, Traditionalist, and Authority, reflecting their ambitious, efficiency-obsessed personality.
See the Traits article for the full list of each trait's four associated Values.
Values and Urges
The Urges system is closely tied to Values. Many Urges that a Zoi receives are connected to their current Values and Core Value. When a Zoi fulfills an Urge that aligns with their Core Value, the Mew Coin reward is activated. This means that Zois with a well-developed Core Value essentially get paid for following their personality-driven impulses.
Values and Desired Lives
The Desired Lives system lets players set long-term aspirations for a Zoi. These goals are often aligned with specific Values: a family-focused Desired Life steers toward Love, a career-driven Desired Life steers toward Accomplishment and Authority, and a free-spirited lifestyle steers toward Autonomy and Challenger. Completing Desired Life goals provides a major boost to the associated Values.
Values and the Karma System
The Karma system interacts with Values in meaningful ways. A Zoi whose Core Value is Rule-Abiding or Coexistence will suffer a sharper karma penalty when they commit a crime compared to a Zoi whose Core Value is Challenger or Autonomy. Actions that align with a prosocial Core Value and also help others deliver the strongest karma gains.
