Job Interviews
Job interviews are a confirmed upcoming feature for inZOI, listed in the Q1 section of the 2026 roadmap as part of an enhanced job system supporting "multiple jobs, interviews, remote work, and performance evaluation." In the current Early Access version, the hiring process is instant: Zois apply for a job through the Career app on their smartphone and are immediately hired with no interview, resume review, or waiting period.
Current Hiring Process
The existing job application system works as follows:
Press P to open the smartphone, or click the smartphone icon.
Open the Career app.
Browse available positions in the Recruitment tab. Jobs are filtered by your Zoi's city (Dowon or Bliss Bay).
Select a job listing and click Apply.
Your Zoi is instantly hired. A text message confirms the application status within a few minutes.
The work schedule appears on the Zoi's calendar, and they can begin working on their next scheduled day.
There are minimal requirements for getting hired. The primary qualification is age: most careers require the Young Adult through Middle-Aged life stages. The Idol Trainee career at Adam Entertainment is restricted to Young Adults only. Part-time jobs are available to a broader age range. No skill levels, educational background, or prior experience are required for initial employment in the current system.
Switching Jobs
Applying for a new job automatically resigns your Zoi from their current position. There is no two-week notice period. The transition is immediate, and the Zoi begins their new career on the next scheduled workday. You can view your current employment status in the My Career tab of the Career app and click Resign on the left side to voluntarily quit without applying elsewhere.
Career Types and Hiring
The instant-hire system applies equally to both career types:
Career Type | Description | Hiring Process |
|---|---|---|
Active (on-site) | Your Zoi commutes to the workplace. You directly control them and complete tasks during work hours. Examples: Firefighter, Idol Trainee, Amusement Park Worker. | Instant acceptance. No interview. |
Rabbit hole (off-site) | Your Zoi takes a taxi to work and disappears inside the building until their shift ends. You receive periodic updates via notifications. Examples: Lawyer, Developer, Soldier. | Instant acceptance. No interview. |
Part-time | Shorter hours, fewer promotion steps. Available at convenience stores, delis, fast food, and surf shops. | Instant acceptance. No interview. |
Getting Fired
While hiring is instant, termination follows a three-strike system. If a Zoi accumulates three unexcused absences from work, they are fired. A text message notifies you of the termination. There is no appeal process or performance review involved in firing decisions in the current system.
After being fired, a Zoi can immediately apply for a new job through the Career app. There is no cooldown period, and previous termination does not affect future hiring prospects.
2026 Roadmap: Interview System
The 2026 roadmap, published by director Kjun on December 26, 2025, confirms that the job system will be enhanced to include interviews as part of the hiring process. This falls under the Q1 2026 career system overhaul, which also includes:
Job interviews - a hiring process beyond instant acceptance. The exact format has not been detailed, but interviews imply that Zois will need to meet certain criteria or perform well in an evaluation before being offered a position.
Multiple jobs - the ability to hold more than one job at a time, allowing Zois to combine part-time, freelance, and full-time work.
Remote work - the ability to work from home as part of a traditional career. See Remote Work.
Performance evaluation - formal review systems for career progression. See Performance Reviews.
What Interviews Could Include
Based on how existing career mechanics work and patterns from other life simulation games, a job interview system in inZOI might involve:
Potential Feature | Basis |
|---|---|
Skill requirements for application | Currently, no skill is needed to apply. Interviews could gate higher-tier jobs behind minimum skill thresholds. |
Interview conversation mechanic | Similar to the existing work event and chance card system where you choose how to respond to dilemmas. Rhetoric and Charm could influence interview success. |
Waiting period for results | Rather than instant hiring, Zois might need to wait for a callback, adding realism to the job search process. |
Resume or qualification check | Past work experience and skill levels could be evaluated. The existing promotion system already tracks career progression. |
Rejection possibility | Unlike the current system where every application is accepted, interviews could result in rejection, making career advancement more meaningful. |
These details are speculative and based on the roadmap's description and existing game patterns. No official implementation details have been released. As with all roadmap items, the feature may change during development.
Tips for the Current System
Browse all available careers before applying. The Recruitment tab shows positions across all employers in your city.
Consider whether you want an active or rabbit hole career. Active careers offer faster promotions (3 to 4 working days vs. 8 to 10 for rabbit hole) but require hands-on task management.
Applying for a new job automatically quits your current one. Make sure you want to switch before clicking Apply.
Part-time jobs have fewer promotion tiers but provide flexible income alongside other activities.
Building skills before starting a career means faster promotions once hired, even though skills are not required for the initial application.
