Cleanliness

Overview

Cleanliness in inZOI affects both Zoi mood and household relationships. Dirty furniture, floors, and rugs accumulate grime over time, causing visual dirt and gameplay penalties. The Hygiene need depletes faster when the home is dirty, and wearing dirty clothing makes the Zoi Uncomfortable. Keeping the home clean requires manual effort, the right tools, or hired help.

Effects of low cleanliness

• Mood penalty - dirty surroundings negatively affect Zoi mood, making them more likely to develop negative emotions.

• Faster Hygiene drain - the Hygiene need depletes more quickly in a dirty environment.

• Uncomfortable status - wearing dirty clothes gives the Zoi the Uncomfortable status effect.

• Relationship strain - poor home cleanliness strains family relationships. Household members react negatively to living in filth.

Home Information Screen

The Home Information Screen displays the property's overall cleanliness meter and a count of dirty Zois in the household. Access it through the household management interface. The cleanliness meter provides a quick overview of how dirty the home is without needing to visually inspect every room.

Visual indicators

Dirty furniture, floors, and rugs develop a marbled, dusty appearance. The grime is visible and gets progressively worse the longer cleaning is neglected. Dirty clothing on Zois also shows visible dirt marks.

Cleaning tools

Four cleaning tools are available, each with different costs, durability, and use cases:

• Mop (15 Meow) - 3 uses before it breaks. Basic indoor floor cleaning tool.

• Broom (18 Meow) - 3 uses before it breaks. Works both indoors and outdoors, making it the only tool for exterior cleaning.

• Cordless Vacuum (35 Meow) - 5 uses before recharging. More efficient than mop or broom.

• Premium Vacuum (450 Meow) - 5 uses before recharging. The most efficient cleaning tool. Requires Housework level 3 to use.

All tools are purchased through Build Mode or the Pocket Market on the smartphone.

Cleaning efficiently

Cleaning floor sections is more efficient than cleaning individual furniture pieces. When you direct a Zoi to clean a floor section, nearby furniture on that section also gets cleaned. This covers more ground per action.

For larger cleaning jobs, use the multi-action commands:

• Clean 3 - the Zoi autonomously cleans 3 dirty spots in sequence.

• Clean 5 - the Zoi autonomously cleans 5 dirty spots in sequence.

These queued actions let the Zoi clean multiple areas without needing manual direction for each one.

Hiring cleaners

Two cleaning services are available through the Pocket Market app on the smartphone:

• Spick-And-Span (100 Meow) - a basic cleaning service that takes about 1 hour to finish the job.

• Good-As-New (500 Meow) - a premium cleaning service that takes about 2 hours and handles more thorough cleaning.

When a cleaner arrives at the property, you must click on them and select the option to invite them in. Cleaners won't enter the house on their own. Forgetting this step means the cleaner stands outside and eventually leaves.

Laundry

Dirty clothes are handled through the laundry system:

• A washing machine is required. Place one via Build Mode in the Bathroom furniture category.

• Only Adults and Teenagers can do laundry independently.

• Children need a family member to help them with laundry.

• Laundry can be set as a preference in the Zoi Card interface, which makes the Zoi prioritize doing laundry autonomously when dirty clothes accumulate.

Clean clothes remove the Uncomfortable status effect and stop the appearance of visible dirt on the Zoi's outfit.

Housework skill

Cleaning contributes to the Housework skill. Higher Housework levels make cleaning faster and more thorough. The Premium Vacuum (the most efficient cleaning tool) requires Housework level 3 to use, creating a practical reason to invest in the skill early.

Cheats

Two cheats bypass the cleanliness system entirely:

• FreezeCleanliness true - stops the property from getting dirty. Furniture and floors stay clean indefinitely.

• instantClean - immediately cleans all furniture and surfaces on the entire property. One command, everything spotless.

Tips

• Clean floor sections rather than individual furniture. It covers more area per action.

• Use Clean 3 or Clean 5 multi-actions to automate cleaning runs.

• Buy a broom early for outdoor cleaning. It's the only tool that works outside.

• Set laundry as a preference on one adult Zoi so dirty clothes get handled automatically.

• If money is tight, the Spick-And-Span service at 100 Meow is affordable and handles the basics.

• Level Housework to 3 as soon as possible to unlock the Premium Vacuum. It's expensive (450 Meow) but lasts longer and cleans better.

• Watch the Home Information Screen periodically. It gives a snapshot of how dirty the house is before the visual grime becomes obvious.
