Overview
Social events are organized gatherings where Zois come together for a shared occasion. inZOI has three event types: Parties, Dates, and Weddings. All three are planned through the Events app on the Smartphone. Events have set durations, guest lists, locations, and dress codes. During the event, a timer tracks the remaining time, and the game suggests actions to make the gathering go well.

How to plan an event
Open the Smartphone by pressing [P].
Tap the Events app.
Find an open timeslot on the Zoi's schedule.
Click "Make Event."
Fill in the event details.

The event creation screen lets you configure:
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Name | A custom title for the event. |
Duration | Minimum 2 hours. Longer events give more time for activities but also require more energy from guests. |
Location | Any accessible lot or property. Outdoor locations work for warm weather. Indoor locations are safer in unpredictable climates. |
Guest list | Invite specific Zois from the relationship panel. Only Zois with an existing connection can be invited. |
Dress code | Set an outfit category (formal, casual, party, sportswear, etc.) that guests should wear. See Clothing. |
Activities | Choose which actions are encouraged or prohibited during the event. |
Activity categories
When setting up an event, the host picks which activities guests should engage in. The categories are:
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Indoor | Listening to music, watching TV, bathing, performing repairs, sleeping, and cleaning. |
Food and cooking | Eating, food preparation, coffee brewing. See Cooking. |
Hobbies | Art appreciation, playing instruments, dancing, writing, gaming, reading, fitness workouts, and photography. |
Outdoor | Fishing, gardening, and stealing (yes, stealing is listed as an activity option). |
Children | Homework and playing with toys. Relevant for events that include younger life stages. |
Conversation | Hugging, romance, fighting, kissing, rudeness, and kindness. These settings determine the social atmosphere of the event. |
Activities set as "encouraged" will prompt guests to do them more often. Activities set as "prohibited" prevent guests from performing those actions during the event. Setting the right activity mix shapes the tone. A birthday party might encourage music, food, and kindness while prohibiting fighting and rudeness. A date might encourage romance and food while prohibiting stealing.
During the event
Once the event starts, a timer appears on screen counting down the remaining duration. A list of suggested actions also appears. These are context-appropriate tasks like greeting arriving guests, lighting birthday candles, proposing a toast, or starting a group activity. Completing suggested actions is optional but improves the event's overall quality and guest satisfaction.

Guests arrive on their own and begin performing activities from the encouraged list. The host can interact with guests normally during the event. All standard interaction options remain available.
Group photo
At the end of every social event, the game offers to take a group photo. All attending Zois gather together and pose. The photo is saved and can be displayed in frames placed through Build Mode. Taking the group photo is optional but provides a nice memento of the gathering.
Event types
Parties
Parties are the most flexible event type. They can be scheduled at any time, in any location, with any guest list. Birthday parties, housewarming celebrations, and general get-togethers all fall under this category. There are no special prerequisites beyond having an open timeslot and at least one guest.

Dates
Dates require the host to have asked someone out through a romantic interaction first. Dates scheduled through the Events app follow the standard planning flow. Dates arranged through a direct NPC conversation start 1 hour later than the scheduling time. Dates are typically two-person events but can include additional guests if desired.
Weddings
Weddings require a successful marriage proposal. After the proposal is accepted, the wedding can be scheduled through the Events app or through a direct interaction with the partner. Weddings scheduled through NPC interaction happen at noon the next day. Wedding events follow the same planning interface as parties but carry the additional significance of formalizing the marriage. Living arrangements (who moves where) are decided after the ceremony concludes.
