Overview
Beauty and salon careers are a confirmed upcoming feature for inZOI, first announced in the Q1 section of the official 2026 Roadmap published on December 26, 2025. The roadmap describes these as "beauty-related careers and gameplay content that use appearance customization." As of April 2026, no beauty or salon career paths have been added to the game. The feature was originally planned for Q1 2026 but did not ship with the February 2026 update or the March 2026 update. KRAFTON has not issued a specific statement about when the career will arrive, though the updated roadmap published around the game's first anniversary (March 28, 2026) indicates that April will focus on stability improvements and optimization rather than new career content.
Despite the delay, beauty careers remain one of the most requested features on the official inZOI forums. The game's deep character customization tools provide a strong foundation for this type of career, and the roadmap still lists beauty-related content as a planned addition for 2026.
Current Status (April 2026)
The following beauty-related gameplay elements are not yet available in the current Early Access build:

Any beauty, salon, or stylist career paths
Functional hair salon buildings that Zois can visit as customers
Barbershop or beauty parlor community lots
The ability for one Zoi to change another Zoi's appearance during gameplay
Step-by-step makeup application or hairstyling animations
Appearance customization currently happens in two ways. Players can use the Character Creation Studio (CaZ) before entering gameplay, or they can interact with any mirror placed in a Zoi's home to open the Edit Appearance interface. Both methods allow the player to directly adjust their own Zoi's look. There is no mechanic where one Zoi visits another Zoi for a haircut, makeover, or styling session.
Existing Customization Foundation
inZOI already features one of the most detailed character customization systems in life simulation games. These tools are expected to serve as the core mechanic for future beauty careers, adapted so that players perform styling work on NPC clients rather than only on their own household members.
Feature | Description |
|---|---|
Character Creation Studio (CaZ) | Full-body customization with granular control over facial features, body proportions, skin tone, freckles, moles, scars, and more. Over 250 individual sliders and options are available. |
Hairstyles | Dozens of hairstyle options filtered by Short, Medium, Long, or Tied-Up. Each hairstyle supports a base color, sub color, and three highlight channels. Players can edit length, color ratio, and blur the harshness between colors. See Hair Styles for the full catalog. |
Makeup | Highlighter, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and lipstick with adjustable colors, intensity, and gloss for each product. See Makeup for details. |
AI Texture | On-device generative AI that creates custom patterns for clothing and accessories from text prompts. See AI Texture. |
Mirror Editing | Zois can interact with any mirror at home to modify their hair, skin, face features, eyes, makeup, outfits, and contact lenses without returning to CaZ. Foundational traits like age and gender cannot be changed through the mirror. |
Outfit Categories | Nine outfit slots (everyday, formal, school, sleepwear, party, sportswear, swimwear, summer, winter) that can each be styled independently with different hairstyles and accessories. |
The depth of these existing systems suggests that a beauty career could offer highly interactive gameplay. Players already have the tools to adjust individual facial features, apply layered cosmetics, and style hair with multiple color channels. Translating these tools into a career context would mean performing these actions on client Zois who visit the salon with specific requests.
2026 Roadmap Plans
The 2026 Roadmap includes several entries related to beauty and salon gameplay spread across multiple quarters.
Q1 2026: Beauty Careers and Gameplay
Feature | Description |
|---|---|
Beauty-related careers | New career paths that "use appearance customization" as a core mechanic. The existing CaZ and makeup tools would be integrated into a playable career where Zois work on other Zois' appearances. |
Hair salon venues | Interactive building properties where Zois can visit for styling services. Listed among the expanded interactive building types planned alongside cinemas. |
Neither of these features shipped in Q1. The March 2026 update instead introduced the Florist Career and Freelance Delivery Career as the new career additions. The Police Career was another Q1 roadmap item that received active development attention during the same period.
Q2 2026: K-Pop and Performance Styling
Feature | Description |
|---|---|
K-pop idol styling | Stage outfits and hairstyles that expand the appearance customization system with entertainment-focused cosmetic options. Tied to the Idol Trainee career at Adam Entertainment. |
Performance events | Themed environments for K-pop performances that involve styled appearances and new dance animations. |
Animation Improvements
The roadmap also mentions adding step-by-step makeup application animations such as applying foundation and lipstick. This suggests the beauty career will include visible grooming animations rather than instant appearance changes. Players would watch their Zoi perform each step of a makeover, similar to how cooking shows individual preparation steps in the kitchen.

Updated Timeline
The updated roadmap published around inZOI's first anniversary on March 28, 2026 outlined 7 to 8 total updates planned for the remainder of 2026. The schedule prioritizes the following content in order:
April 2026: Full-scale stability improvement and optimization. Engine update, memory optimization, additional modding support, and expanded graphics settings. No new career content expected.
May 2026: High School Life update, introducing school-related gameplay.
July 2026: Travel system and a Prison system.
Beauty careers are not explicitly assigned to a specific month in the updated timeline. They may be bundled into one of the Jobs and Freelancing updates or arrive as part of a broader careers expansion later in 2026. KRAFTON has acknowledged that the quarterly schedule for new development may shift depending on progress, and the team has stated that stability and depth take priority over the quantity of new features this year.
Community Expectations
Based on the roadmap descriptions and patterns established by existing careers, the community expects beauty careers to work in several specific ways. The following is speculative and drawn from community discussion rather than official announcements.
Career type: Most likely an active career rather than a rabbit hole job, since the roadmap emphasizes interactive gameplay using appearance tools. Active careers let the player control their Zoi on-site and complete tasks directly.
Workplace: Hair salon or beauty parlor lots where the Zoi works on NPC clients who visit for services.
Core mechanic: Using the existing CaZ customization tools (hairstyling, makeup application, skin care) to fulfill client requests during shifts.
Progression: Likely tied to completing client requests accurately. Matching the requested style could determine promotion speed and tips, similar to the career advancement system used by other active careers.
Skill connection: May involve a new skill or leverage existing ones like the Charm skill or Creativity skill. No "Beauty" or "Cosmetology" skill currently exists in the game.
