Overview

McKenzie Furniture Store is a home furnishings retailer in Bliss Bay that offers an active career path. Unlike rabbit hole careers where your Zoi disappears for the duration of their shift, McKenzie lets you see the store interior and control your Zoi as they perform tasks during work hours. The career has two ranks: Cashier and Manager.

McKenzie is exclusive to Bliss Bay. The store can accommodate up to 2 employees simultaneously. Players living in Dowon should look at the AZ Convenience Store for a similar retail career.

Career Ranks

Both positions are open to Young Adult, Adult, and Middle-Aged Zois. The promotion from Cashier to Manager increases the per-shift salary from 360 to 918 Meow, a 155% raise.

How to Apply

1. Open the Smartphone and go to the Careers app.

2. Switch to the Bliss Bay job listings.

3. Select Cashier (McKenzie Furniture Store).

4. Your Zoi begins their first shift on the next scheduled work day.

Shift Tasks

A task list appears in the top-left corner during each shift. Tasks are split into morning and afternoon blocks with individual time limits. Completing tasks fills the promotion gauge. Missing deadlines slows promotion progress but does not result in termination.

Morning Tasks (3-Hour Window)

Afternoon Tasks (6-Hour Window)

The afternoon block has longer time limits but requires more task repetitions. Counter duty doubles from 30 to 60 minutes, and both watering and cleaning increase from 3 to 5 repetitions.

Promotion Mechanics

The promotion gauge fills through consistent task completion across multiple shifts. Active careers like McKenzie allow promotion in roughly 3 to 4 working days (about one in-game week), which is faster than rabbit hole careers that typically take 8 to 10 working days. If the gauge is full but no promotion happens, there is no vacancy for the Manager position yet.

Three unexcused absences result in termination. Always ensure your Zoi arrives at work on scheduled days.

Workplace Tips

• Focus watering tasks on the flowerpots near the entrance rather than interior displays, as they are closer together

• Concentrate cleaning efforts near the POS station so you can quickly switch between cleaning and counter duty

• The store has multiple POS machines; pause the game at shift start to locate your assigned register

• Keep your Zoi supervised during counter duty since they may wander off on autonomy

• The 3-day schedule leaves plenty of free time for skill building and hobbies

Comparison to Other Retail Careers

McKenzie shares the same 360/918 Meow salary structure as Posey's Surf Shop and AZ Convenience Store. The key difference between them is location and the specific in-store tasks. McKenzie's tasks center on plant care, store cleaning, and POS operation, while the other stores have different task mixes like shelf restocking and floor cleaning.

Manager Role

After promotion, the Manager position at McKenzie continues as an active career with a similar task structure but at higher pay. Managers oversee store operations and handle more responsibility during shifts. The work schedule stays at 3 days per week with the same 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM hours.
