Law is one of the Career categories in inZOI, placing Zois within the legal profession at prestigious law firms. Three firms operate across all three cities: Dowon, Bliss Bay, and Cahaya. Law careers are rabbit hole careers with a short 6-hour work day (9 AM to 3 PM), making them exceptionally time-efficient. At the Partner level, the law career offers the highest hourly pay rate in the entire game at 340 Meow per hour. The career is thematically connected to the Trial and Justice System introduced in v0.5.0.
Law Firms
Three law firms employ lawyers in inZOI, one per city:

All three firms share the same career structure, work schedule, and promotion system. The only difference is that Justitia Law Firm in Dowon has a lower entry-level salary (300 Meow) compared to the other two firms (450 Meow). Senior and Partner salaries are identical across all three.
Positions and Salaries
Each firm has three positions arranged in a promotion hierarchy. Position limits follow the standard 6/3/1 pattern used across all three-tier rabbit hole careers.

When all position slots at a firm are filled, the game shows a notification. Players can choose to have the newest employee in that position quit so their Zoi can be hired instead.

The 6-hour work day is one of the shortest in the game, tied with Education and Academic Careers. This gives lawyer Zois the entire afternoon and evening free for other activities.

Choose a Law listing and submit the application
Wait for a confirmation text; if accepted, the Zoi starts on their next scheduled work day
There are no education or skill requirements to apply for the Junior Lawyer position. The Zoi must be at least a Young Adult (approximately age 20.5 in-game). Despite the legal profession's real-world educational barriers, inZOI does not require a degree or any prior achievement. This is consistent with all other careers in the game.
Rabbit Hole Mechanics
Law careers are rabbit hole (off-site) careers. During work hours:
The Zoi automatically boards a taxi and is driven off-screen to the firm
No physical workplace interior exists in the game world
The player cannot control or observe the Zoi during the shift
There are no interactive tasks or task lists to complete
Occasional pop-up dilemma events may appear (flavor events with chooseable options)
The Zoi returns automatically at 3 PM when the shift ends
Salary is deposited into household funds after each completed work day
The law career is identified by a blue briefcase icon in the Career app. This distinguishes rabbit hole careers from Active Careers, where the player follows the Zoi to the workplace.
Promotion Mechanics

The Partner slot is the main bottleneck. Only one Zoi per firm can hold this position. If an NPC occupies the slot, you must wait for them to retire, quit, or be terminated.
Attendance and Termination
Missing a scheduled work day counts as an unexcused absence. After 3 unexcused absences, the Zoi is automatically fired. The counter resets when the Zoi attends a work day. Zois can voluntarily resign through the Career section of the Smartphone, but this resets all career progress.
Retirement
Zois face mandatory retirement upon reaching the Senior age stage. They are automatically removed from their position. No pension exists. Plan ahead with savings, a second earner, or a Business.
Trial and Justice System Connection
The Trial and Justice System was introduced in v0.5.0 (December 23, 2025). When a Zoi is arrested and faces trial, they can appoint a lawyer for their defense. Two tiers of representation are available:

After appointing a lawyer, the defendant receives a trial preparation mission with opportunity cards (questions to answer). The preparation results influence which opportunity cards appear during the actual trial, which in turn affect the verdict. Outcomes include acquittal, a fine, or police custody.
Important note: The lawyers appointed during trials are NPC-based services. Having a Zoi in the Lawyer career does not currently grant them special trial interactions or the ability to represent other Zois in court. Community members have expressed interest in this feature, and one Steam discussion shows a player who reached Partner noting they "was hoping" for trial participation. The developer has indicated that "more actual job locations are in the works" for rabbit hole careers, suggesting potential future integration.
Salary Efficiency
The Partner salary of 2,040 Meow per day ranks as the 2nd highest daily salary in the game (behind the Criminal Boss at 2,169). However, when factored against the 6-hour work day, the Partner position achieves the highest hourly rate at 340 Meow per hour:

Weekly income at Partner level: 2,040 x 3 days = 6,120 Meow per week. The short work day and high pay make the law career one of the most efficient paths for wealth building, leaving ample free time for Business ownership or skill development.
Known Bugs
Rank 3 promotion bug (fixed): An early access bug prevented promotion to Partner in some rabbit hole careers. Career experience points were not being counted correctly after reaching the second rank. This was fixed in a subsequent patch
Sawara schedule display bug: The Sawara Law Firm in Cahaya displayed only 2 work days (Tuesday and Thursday) in the Edit Schedule screen instead of the intended 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Wednesday was missing from the display. Reported August 31, 2025 on the official forums
Court case bugs (trial system): Trials could stall with prosecutors and defendants standing outside the courtroom. Missing UI elements made progression impossible. Non-attendance fines of 3,500 Meow were issued despite being present. Most trial bugs were listed as fixed in v0.5.4, though old saves may still experience issues
Tips
Choose Themis & Jones or Sawara for higher entry pay: The Junior Lawyer position at Justitia (Dowon) pays only 300 Meow, while the other two firms start at 450 Meow. The difference disappears at Senior level
Best hourly pay in the game: At Partner level, you earn 340 Meow per hour, more than any other career. The short 6-hour day maximizes free time
Pair with a Business: The Tue/Wed/Thu schedule and 3 PM end time leave 4 full days plus afternoons free for managing a Business
Rest before work: Being well-rested reportedly improves career bar progress for rabbit hole careers. Make sure your Zoi gets a full night of sleep before work days
Patience at Partner: Only one Partner slot per firm. If the slot is filled, your Senior Lawyer must wait. Consider applying at a less populated firm
