Military Careers

Military careers in inZOI offer Zois a path through the armed forces, with an army branch in Dowon and a naval branch in Bliss Bay. Both are rabbit hole careers, meaning the Zoi leaves the game world during work hours and returns when the shift ends. Military careers provide solid pay that grows substantially through three ranks, reaching 1,827 Meow at the top. This places military compensation among the higher-tier salaries in the game.

Branches

Two military employers operate in inZOI, one per city:

Both branches are mechanically identical: same salary structure, same position limits, same promotion system. The only differences are the city location and the rank titles. Military careers are not available in Cahaya; the Island Getaway DLC city introduced its own set of 9 unique careers, but military is not among them.

Ranks and Salaries

Each branch has three ranks arranged in a promotion hierarchy. Salaries are listed in Meow per work day. Position limits follow the standard 6/3/1 pattern used across all three-tier rabbit hole careers.

How to Apply

To apply for a military career:

1. Open the Smartphone by pressing P or clicking the phone icon

2. Navigate to the Career app

3. Select the Recruitment tab to browse open positions

4. Choose a Military/Navy listing and submit the application

5. Wait for a confirmation text; if accepted, the Zoi starts on their next scheduled work day

There are no skill requirements to apply for entry-level military positions. The Zoi must be at least a Young Adult (approximately age 20.5 in-game).

Rabbit Hole Mechanics

Military careers are rabbit hole (off-site) careers. During work hours:

• The Zoi walks to the nearest taxi and is driven off-screen to work

• No physical workplace building exists in-game for either branch

• The player cannot control or observe the Zoi during the shift

• There are no interactive tasks or mini-games to complete

• The Zoi returns automatically when the shift ends at 6 PM

• Salary is deposited into household funds after each completed work day

This distinguishes military careers from Active Careers (such as the Amusement Park Career or Idol), where the player follows the Zoi to the workplace and controls their tasks.

Promotion Mechanics

Promotions follow the same system used by all rabbit hole careers in inZOI:

The General/Colonel slot is the main bottleneck, as only one Zoi per branch can hold the top rank. If the slot is occupied by an NPC, you must wait for them to retire, quit, or be terminated.

Attendance and Termination

Missing a scheduled work day counts as an unexcused absence. After 3 unexcused absences, the Zoi is automatically fired. The counter resets when the Zoi attends a work day. Arriving late or leaving early may still count as attendance but provides reduced career bar progress. Zois can voluntarily resign at any time through the Career section of the Smartphone, but this resets all career progress.

Retirement

Zois face mandatory retirement upon reaching the Senior age stage. At this point, they are automatically removed from their military rank and cannot hold any job. No pension or ongoing income is provided. Plan ahead by building savings, training a second household earner, or establishing a Business before the primary earner reaches Senior age.

Career Opportunity Cards

The v0.4.0 update (October 30, 2025) introduced 144 career opportunity cards across all career paths. During or after military work shifts, random events may pop up presenting the Zoi with a choice. Each decision can affect the Zoi's mood, workplace relationships, or career bar fill speed. Specific military-themed opportunity card scenarios have not been documented by community guides.

Salary Comparison

The military career's top salary of 1,827 Meow places it in the high tier of all careers. Here is how it compares to other top-rank salaries:

While not the absolute highest, military careers offer a strong salary-to-effort ratio since they only require 3 days per week with no interactive tasks. The 4 free days per week can be used for skill building, socializing, or managing a side Business.

Street Soldier vs Military Soldier

An important clarification: the Street Soldier is a completely separate career from the military. Street Soldier is the entry-level criminal career in Dowon (under "Dowon Solutions"), progressing through Muscle to Boss. It has no connection to the Military Manpower Administration or Navy. The naming overlap causes occasional confusion among players.

Comparison with Army

The Navy and Army are mirror careers separated only by city. A player choosing between them should base the decision entirely on where their Zoi lives.

Both careers share identical pay at every rank and identical schedules. The rank titles differ (Corporal/Captain/Colonel vs. Trainee/Officer/General) but the progression mechanics and salary are the same. Moving your Zoi to a different city means starting over in the other military branch.

Tips
