Police Career
Overview of law enforcement in inZOI, covering the existing Officer (Soldier) rabbit-hole career exclusive to Dowon, the planned active Police career coming in the 2026 roadmap with patrol cars and real-time criminal searches, and the expanded prison and arrest system planned for Q2 2026.
Law enforcement in inZOI exists in two forms: the current Officer career that is already playable in the game, and a more fully realized active Police career that KRAFTON has confirmed for the 2026 development roadmap. The current Officer career operates as a rabbit-hole job in the Soldier job line, while the planned police career is expected to introduce active on-the-job gameplay including patrol cars, real-time criminal searches, and arrest procedures.
Current Officer Career
The Officer career is a Rabbit Hole job currently available in the game as part of the Soldier job line. It is exclusive to the city of Dowon and is available to Young Adult, Adult, and Middle-Aged Zois.
As a rabbit-hole career, the Officer career means that when a Zoi goes to work, they board a taxi and disappear off-screen for the duration of their shift. The player does not accompany them or control their on-the-job activities. The Zoi returns home at the end of their shift with pay and career progression points.

Promotion in the Officer career, like all rabbit-hole careers, depends primarily on ensuring the Zoi arrives to work on time and completes their full shift duration. Regular attendance over multiple in-game days is the main driver of advancement. Career promotions in off-site jobs typically take one week or longer of consistent attendance.
Law Enforcement NPCs
The Crime system introduced in v0.5.0 (December 2025) features NPC police officers who respond to reported crimes. When a Zoi witnesses a crime, they may report it, and NPC officers can respond in two ways: issuing an immediate fine to the perpetrator, or placing the Zoi under arrest and taking them to jail.
NPC officers actively patrol city areas, and criminal Zois who are under a Wanted notice risk arrest if they cross paths with an officer during their one-day wanted period. Currently, these officers are automated NPCs; the player cannot control or play as a police officer through the crime response system. That active police gameplay is the subject of the planned career described below.
Planned Active Police Career (2026 Roadmap)
KRAFTON confirmed a fully playable active Police career as part of the 2026 Roadmap announced in late December 2025. The planned system represents a significant expansion beyond the current rabbit-hole Officer career, introducing real-time on-the-job gameplay.
Confirmed features for the planned Police career include:
Patrol cars: Officers will use dedicated police vehicles while on duty.
Real-time criminal searches: Players will be able to actively pursue and apprehend criminal Zois during their shift.
On-site arrest procedures: A detailed arrest process will be introduced, including on-site apprehension and processing at a police station.
Police station facilities: A dedicated police station building is expected to serve as the home base for the career.
The police career is listed in the Q1 2026 section of the roadmap alongside enhanced job system features (multiple jobs, interviews, remote work, performance evaluations). KRAFTON has noted that these roadmap items are subject to change in scope and timing based on development progress.
Planned Prison Expansion (2026 Roadmap)
Alongside the police career, KRAFTON plans to significantly expand the game's prison system in Q2 2026. The current Trial and Justice System already includes jail stays of up to three days, with a basic cell containing a bed, sink, mirror, toilet, and vending machine. The planned expansion adds:
Prison facilities: A fully realized prison property with dedicated areas including a yard, library, workshop (for laundry and sewing), lounge, cafeteria, shower area, and visitation room.
Prison visitation: Richer court-related interactions such as family members visiting during trial waiting periods.
Home and vehicle security: Alarms and safes for residential properties, giving homeowners tools to deter and detect criminal Zois.
These additions are expected in Q2 2026, following the police career launch. The timing assumes the Q1 features ship on schedule, though all roadmap dates are flexible.
Current Jail Mechanics
Until the prison expansion arrives, the current jail system works as follows. When a Zoi is arrested, they serve a sentence of up to three days. During this time, the Zoi has access only to a bed, sink, mirror, toilet, and vending machine. They can sleep, eat (from the vending machine), and use the bathroom, but cannot pursue skills, relationships, or other activities. They are automatically released at 9 AM the morning after a standard hold; release after 4 AM is also possible. See the Crime article for full details on the arrest and trial system.
Connection to the Crime System
The planned Police career will interact directly with the Crime skill system. Criminal Zois use skills like Fitness, Handiwork, Programming, Critical Thinking, and Rhetoric to perform and cover up crimes. Police officers may require complementary skills (such as Fitness for pursuit and Critical Thinking for investigation) to effectively apprehend criminals. KRAFTON has not released detailed career skill requirements for the police career as of early 2026.
