Overview
The Idol Trainee career is one of the most unique active careers in inZOI, allowing Zois to train as K-pop style idol trainees at Adam Entertainment, an entertainment agency located on the east side of Dowon. Unlike most careers that focus on a single type of task, the Idol Trainee demands simultaneous development across multiple disciplines (dance, vocals, fitness, and academic study), making it one of the most demanding career paths in the game.
Age Restriction
This career has a critical restriction: it is only available to Young Adult Zois. Once a Zoi ages up to Adult, they are automatically removed from Adam Entertainment. Because the game is in Early Access, the career currently ends at the Senior Trainee rank with no progression to a debuted idol or performer role. KRAFTON may expand this career path in future updates.
Adam Entertainment also offers a completely separate Employee career track (the Entertainment Planning Team), which is available to Young Adults, Adults, and Middle-Aged Zois. That career line progresses from Employee to Team Lead to CEO and involves office planning tasks rather than idol training. Make sure to apply for Rookie Trainee and not Employee when starting the idol path, as they are different job lines at the same company.
How to Join
To start the Idol Trainee career:
Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
Age | The Zoi must be a Young Adult. This is the only career in inZOI restricted to a single age group. Adults, Middle-Aged, and Elder Zois cannot apply. Teenagers can age up into Young Adult and then apply. |
City | The household must be in Dowon. The Idol Trainee career is not available in Bliss Bay or other cities. |
Application | Open the Smartphone, go to the Careers app, and find the Adam Entertainment listing. Select Rookie Trainee to begin. |
Position Limit | Each rank has a maximum of 3 positions available. If all slots are filled, the Zoi must wait for a vacancy before applying. |
Recommended Traits and Desired Life
When creating a Zoi who will pursue the Idol Trainee career, consider these choices during character creation:
Choice | Benefit |
|---|---|
Entertainer trait | Enhances performance-related abilities and is well-suited for the idol training environment. |
Go-Getter trait | Boosts ambition and work ethic, helping the Zoi complete tasks faster during the workday. |
Life of Creativity (Desired Life) | Grants a head start on performing-related skills such as Charm and Performance from the beginning of the game, giving Idol Trainees a meaningful advantage. |
Amused or Confident mood | Being in an Amused or Confident emotional state accelerates skill development, as mood affects skill acquisition speed throughout the workday. |
Maintaining positive karma and a good public image also supports the idol persona. The idol lifestyle demands consistent effort, so pairing strong traits with a supportive Desired Life creates the best foundation for success.
Work Schedule
Detail | Information |
|---|---|
Work Days | Monday through Friday (5 days per week) |
Hours | 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM |
Days Off | Saturday and Sunday |
Early Release | If all six tasks are completed before 6:00 PM, the Zoi can leave work early and still receives full pay for the day. |
The five-day work week is more demanding than the Firefighter career's four-day schedule, leaving only weekends free for hobbies, socializing, and need management. The Employee career at Adam Entertainment follows a slightly different schedule of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the same five weekdays.
Career Ranks and Salaries
The Idol Trainee career has three ranks. Each rank has a limit of 3 available positions. Pay is in Meow:
Rank | Salary | Progress per Day | Days to Promote |
|---|---|---|---|
Rookie Trainee | 136 Meow per day | ~37% per day (all tasks completed) | ~3 days (promotes around Thursday) |
Junior Trainee | 400 Meow per day | ~55% per day (all tasks completed) | ~2 days |
Senior Trainee | 600 Meow per day | Final rank (no further promotion) | N/A |
The starting salary of 136 Meow is among the lowest of any career in Dowon. Income improves significantly with each promotion, nearly tripling from Rookie to Junior. However, even the Senior Trainee salary of 600 Meow is modest compared to other career paths. The Idol Trainee career is best pursued for the experience and the skills it develops rather than as a primary source of wealth.
Promotion Timeline
Promotion speed in the Idol Trainee career is tied directly to task completion. Each completed workday where all six tasks are finished adds a fixed percentage to the promotion progress bar, which can be tracked via the Career section on the Smartphone.
If a Zoi starts the career on Monday and completes every task each day, they can expect the following timeline:
Monday to Wednesday (Rookie): Completing all six tasks earns roughly 37% progress per day. By Thursday, the promotion bar reaches 100% and the Zoi is promoted to Junior Trainee.
Thursday to Friday (Junior): Junior Trainee tasks earn approximately 55% progress per day when fully completed. The Zoi promotes to Senior Trainee after just two days of work.
The following Monday (Senior): The Zoi begins the new work week as a Senior Trainee earning 600 Meow per day. Since this is the final rank, there is no further promotion to pursue.
This means a Zoi can reach Senior Trainee in as few as five working days (one full work week) if every task is completed successfully. Failing tasks on any given day reduces the progress earned, which can push the promotion timeline into the following week. Since the Young Adult life stage is limited, delays can result in the Zoi aging out before reaching the final rank.
Daily Tasks by Rank
Each workday features six tasks total, split into three morning tasks and three afternoon tasks. Morning tasks have a 3-hour window and afternoon tasks have a 5-hour window. All tasks are time-limited, and failing to complete them risks slowing promotion progress or even termination. Tasks are performed at specific stations within the Adam Entertainment building.
Rookie Trainee
The entry-level position focuses on building core idol competencies through dance, vocals, fitness, and study.
Morning Tasks (3-hour window):
Task | Station | Requirement | Skill Affected |
|---|---|---|---|
Change into practice clothes | Wardrobe | 1 time | None |
Morning dance training | Practice room mirror | 3 repetitions | |
Practice vocals | Microphone | 3 sessions |
Afternoon Tasks (5-hour window):
Task | Station | Requirement | Skill Affected |
|---|---|---|---|
Workout | Fitness equipment | 3 sessions | |
Afternoon dance training | Practice room mirror | 3 repetitions | |
Study producing | Computer | 20 minutes |
Tip: Prioritize vocal practice first each morning. Each vocal session takes a significant amount of time to complete, and falling behind on vocals is the most common reason for task failure at the Rookie rank. Leave the computer study task for last since it is short and will continue running unless manually canceled.
Junior Trainee
The second rank increases the intensity of the training regimen. Dance repetitions increase in the afternoon, and language study is added.
Morning Tasks (3-hour window):
Task | Station | Requirement | Skill Affected |
|---|---|---|---|
Change into practice clothes | Wardrobe | 1 time | None |
Study producing | Computer | 20 minutes | |
Workout | Fitness equipment | 5 repetitions |
Afternoon Tasks (5-hour window):
Task | Station | Requirement | Skill Affected |
|---|---|---|---|
Practice vocals | Microphone | 3 sessions | |
Dance training | Practice room mirror | 5 repetitions | |
Study languages | Computer | 20 minutes | None (academic) |
The increased number of fitness reps (5 instead of 3) and the addition of two separate study tasks make this rank noticeably harder to complete within the time limits. Save before each workday. Even one day with failed tasks can lead to getting laid off, and since aging happens in the background, there is limited time to recover from setbacks.
Critical warning: Completing all tasks is most important at the Junior Trainee rank. The promotion bar fills at 55% per day, meaning a single missed day can push the promotion into the following week. Combined with the Young Adult aging window, this leaves almost no margin for error.
Senior Trainee
The final rank replaces the practice clothes with a stage costume and swaps producing study for recording review.
Morning Tasks (3-hour window):
Task | Station | Requirement | Skill Affected |
|---|---|---|---|
Change into stage costume | Wardrobe | 1 time | None |
Study languages | Computer | 20 minutes | None (academic) |
Workout | Fitness equipment | 5 repetitions |
Afternoon Tasks (5-hour window):
Task | Station | Requirement | Skill Affected |
|---|---|---|---|
Practice vocals | Microphone | 3 sessions | |
Dance training | Practice room mirror | 5 repetitions | |
Check recording | Computer | 20 minutes |
Since Senior Trainee is the final rank in the current version, the pressure to complete every task is reduced. There is no further promotion to pursue, so the Zoi can focus on enjoying the routine and continuing to level their skills for the remainder of the Young Adult life stage. That said, repeated task failure can still result in termination (see the Termination section below).
Task Progression Across Ranks
The following table summarizes how tasks evolve as the Zoi advances through the three ranks:
Task Type | Rookie Trainee | Junior Trainee | Senior Trainee |
|---|---|---|---|
Outfit Change | Practice clothes (1x) | Practice clothes (1x) | Stage costume (1x) |
Dance Training | 3 reps (morning) + 3 reps (afternoon) | 5 reps (afternoon only) | 5 reps (afternoon only) |
Vocal Practice | 3 sessions (morning) | 3 sessions (afternoon) | 3 sessions (afternoon) |
Workout | 3 sessions (afternoon) | 5 reps (morning) | 5 reps (morning) |
Study Producing | 20 min (afternoon) | 20 min (morning) | Removed |
Study Languages | Not available | 20 min (afternoon) | 20 min (morning) |
Check Recording | Not available | Not available | 20 min (afternoon) |
The shift from morning to afternoon for vocal practice at Junior rank is a significant change that affects task priority strategy. At Rookie, vocals compete with dance in the tighter 3-hour morning window. At Junior and Senior, vocals move to the more spacious 5-hour afternoon window but must now share time with 5 dance repetitions.
Skills Developed
The Idol Trainee career is one of the most effective ways to develop multiple skills simultaneously through its daily task requirements. However, not every task contributes equally to skill growth.
Skill | How It Levels | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Performance | Dance training and vocal practice sessions | The primary skill developed by this career. Vocal practice is the most effective single task for Performance growth. Also benefits singing and stand-up comedy activities outside of work. |
Fitness | Daily workout requirements on fitness equipment | Every exercise session grants Fitness experience. Choose efficient exercises (dumbbells, lat pulldowns) rather than time-consuming ones (treadmill, yoga) to stay within task windows. |
Media Production | Study producing task (Rookie/Junior) and check recording task (Senior) | A secondary skill that levels passively through the computer-based study tasks. |
Charm | Developed through social interactions and the performative aspects of training | Not directly leveled by any specific work task, but benefits from the idol environment. Build this skill on weekends through social activities. |
Instrument | Not leveled at work; must be practiced separately at home | Complements vocal and music production skills. Having a microphone or instrument at home allows practice during evenings and weekends. |
Working on related skills during free time can help complete tasks faster the following week. A Zoi with a higher Performance skill will finish dance training and vocal sessions more quickly, leaving more breathing room in the schedule. Similarly, higher Fitness levels speed up the workout tasks. The fastest way to build Performance outside of work is to sing using a microphone at home or visit the Coin Booth Karaoke in Dowon.
Termination and Consequences
The Idol Trainee career can end in several ways, each with different implications for the Zoi's future:
Cause | Details |
|---|---|
Aging Out | The moment a Zoi ages up from Young Adult to Adult, they are automatically removed from Adam Entertainment. This is mandatory and cannot be prevented. It reflects the real-world K-pop training system where companies recruit and train young performers. The Zoi receives a notification on their Smartphone confirming the retirement. |
Unexcused Absences | Accumulating 3 unexcused absences results in immediate termination. The company sends a notification to the Smartphone confirming the firing. Missing a workday without resigning counts as one unexcused absence. |
Repeated Task Failure | Consistently failing to complete daily tasks risks being laid off. This is especially dangerous at the Junior Trainee rank, where even one day of missed objectives can significantly slow promotion progress. |
Voluntary Resignation | The Zoi can resign at any time through the Smartphone's Career App by opening "My Career" and selecting the resign option (bottom-left icon). All accumulated progress toward promotion and work days are lost immediately. |
Reapplication: After termination or resignation, a Zoi can reapply for the Idol Trainee position if a vacancy exists and they still meet the Young Adult age requirement. However, all progress resets upon rehiring, including rank and promotion meters. Given the limited Young Adult window, losing progress to termination is often unrecoverable.
The Young Adult Restriction
The Idol Trainee career has the most restrictive age requirement of any job in inZOI. Only Young Adult Zois can hold these positions. The moment a Zoi ages up to Adult, they are automatically removed from Adam Entertainment regardless of their current rank or progress.
This design reflects the real-world K-pop training system, where entertainment companies typically recruit and train young performers. Players who want to experience the full three-rank progression should begin as early as possible in the Young Adult life stage. Creating a new Zoi at the Young Adult age or aging up a Teenager are both valid approaches.
In the current Early Access version, there is no way to continue as a debuted idol after aging up. KRAFTON may expand the career to include idol or performer ranks in future updates, which could potentially be available to Adult Zois. The optimal strategy is to start the career on the first Monday after reaching Young Adult, complete all tasks every day, and reach Senior Trainee within the first work week. This leaves the maximum remaining time in the life stage for earning Meow and building skills at the Senior rank.
Adam Entertainment Building
Adam Entertainment is located on the east side of Dowon. The building serves as the workplace for both the Idol Trainee career line and the Entertainment Planning Team (Employee track). It contains the following facilities:

Feature | Description |
|---|---|
Practice rooms | with wall mirrors for dance training sessions |
Vocal studio | with microphones for vocal practice |
Fitness area | with exercise equipment (dumbbells, lat pulldown machines, and other gym equipment) |
Computer stations | for study tasks (producing, languages, recording review) |
Wardrobes | for changing into practice clothes (Rookie/Junior) or stage costumes (Senior) |
Strategy planning office | used by the Employee career track for meetings and debut strategy work |
The layout is relatively compact compared to workplaces like the Dowon Fire Station, so navigating between task stations is generally fast and should not cause time management issues. Idol trainees share the building with Employees (the planning team), and one of the Employee tasks involves complimenting an idol for their hard work, creating an incidental interaction between the two career lines.
Comparison: Idol Trainee vs. Employee
Adam Entertainment hosts two distinct career tracks. The following table highlights the key differences:
Aspect | Idol Trainee | Employee (Entertainment Planning Team) |
|---|---|---|
Starting Rank | Rookie Trainee | Employee |
Final Rank | Senior Trainee (3 ranks total) | CEO (3 ranks: Employee, Team Lead, CEO) |
Age Requirement | Young Adult only | Young Adult, Adult, Middle-Aged |
Starting Salary | 136 Meow/day | 198 Meow/day |
Work Hours | 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM | 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM |
Position Limit | 3 per rank | 4 per rank |
Focus | Physical training: dance, vocals, fitness, study | Office work: trend research, meetings, strategy planning |
Skills Developed | Performance, Fitness, Media Production | Varies (office-oriented tasks) |
Earning Potential | Modest (max 600 Meow/day at Senior) | High (CEO is one of the highest-paying careers in Dowon) |
Players who want the highest salary from Adam Entertainment should pursue the Employee track, which can lead to the CEO position. The Idol Trainee path is better suited for players interested in the unique K-pop training experience and developing Performance and Fitness skills simultaneously.
Tips and Strategies
General Advice
Tip | Details |
|---|---|
Start immediately. | Begin the career as soon as the Zoi reaches Young Adult to maximize the time available for all three ranks before aging up. Every day counts. |
Save before every workday. | If tasks fail and the Zoi faces termination, reload and retry with better time management. This is especially important at Junior Trainee rank. |
Manage needs the night before. | A well-rested, well-fed Zoi performs tasks faster and is less likely to become distracted by low needs. Go to bed early on Sunday evening to ensure a strong start on Monday. |
Track promotion progress. | Open the Career section on the Smartphone to view a progress bar showing how close the Zoi is to the next rank. This helps confirm that all tasks are being credited properly. |
Use weekends wisely. | Build Charm, Fitness, and Performance at home during Saturday and Sunday. Higher skill levels make work tasks complete faster during the week. |
Task Completion Priorities
Priority | Details |
|---|---|
Vocal practice first. | Complete vocal practice sessions as the first priority in whichever window they appear (morning for Rookie, afternoon for Junior/Senior). Each vocal session takes the most time of any task and is the most common cause of task failure across all ranks. |
Choose fast exercises. | For workout tasks, select quick exercises like dumbbell lifts and lat pulldowns. Avoid time-consuming activities like treadmill running and yoga, which risk eating into the task window. |
Save computer tasks for last. | Study producing, study languages, and check recording are all 20-minute tasks on the computer. They will continue running in the background unless manually canceled, so start them at the end of a session and let them auto-complete while the Zoi transitions to the next time block. |
Watch for autonomous behavior. | Zois may autonomously switch activities or wander during the workday. Keep an eye on the task list and redirect the Zoi if they stop working on an assigned task. |
Rank-Specific Tips
Rank | Key Challenge | Strategy |
|---|---|---|
Rookie Trainee | Vocal practice and dance share the tight 3-hour morning window | Do vocals first (3 sessions), then dance (3 reps). Change clothes is instant. Leave study producing for last in the afternoon. |
Junior Trainee | 5 workout reps in the morning plus two computer tasks make timing very tight | Never fail tasks at this rank. The 55% daily progress means two days is enough to promote, but one missed day can delay promotion past the aging window. Save and reload aggressively. |
Senior Trainee | No further promotion, so stakes are lower | Focus on enjoying the routine and leveling skills. Since there is nothing beyond this position, failing a task here only risks termination, not a missed promotion. |
Career Comparison With Other Dowon Jobs
The following table compares the Idol Trainee career with other active careers available in Dowon:
Career | Starting Salary | Work Days | Age Restriction | Ranks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
136 Meow/day | Mon-Fri | Young Adult only | 3 (Rookie, Junior, Senior) | |
Varies | 4 days/week | Young Adult+ | Multiple | |
Employee (Adam Ent.) | 198 Meow/day | Mon-Fri | Young Adult to Middle-Aged | 3 (Employee, Team Lead, CEO) |
The Idol Trainee has the lowest starting salary and the strictest age restriction of any career in Dowon. It is the only career that automatically terminates when the Zoi reaches a specific life stage rather than the standard Senior retirement age. On the positive side, its rapid promotion speed (as few as five working days to reach the final rank) and the breadth of skills it develops make it a worthwhile short-term career even if the Zoi plans to switch jobs after aging up.
Future Expansion
The Idol Trainee career is widely expected to receive expansion as inZOI progresses through Early Access. Community wishlists on the official forums include requests for actual debut performances, fan meet events, music video filming, group formations, and further progression beyond Senior Trainee. Some players have also requested that the career be available to Adult Zois or that a post-debut career track be added for those who age out of the trainee program.
The existing three-rank career framework provides a foundation that could be built upon to create a deeper K-pop simulation experience. Given KRAFTON's Korean roots and the popularity of K-pop culture, the Idol Trainee career is one of the most thematically fitting features in inZOI and a strong candidate for expanded content in future updates.
